Just pre ordered 3 new iP8s, 2 plus' and 1 regular 8. I normally go back and forth between Android and iOS and I currently have a Galaxy S8...the last iPhone I had was the iP6 so I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the latest iPhone. I got all 3 phones in Gold, which I think looks very classy.

Strange thing happened when I initially called TMO, the rep told me I wasn't eligible for the $300 off promo, and I said I just wanted to use JOD, and she continued to tell me I wasn't eligible and that I would have to pay the entire balance off of the phone before I upgraded, and I told her that's not how JOD works, but she refused. I hung up called back, and within 10 minutes preordered the phones.

How did it turn out? Serious question.

I had zero issues with my 6.

what do you mean how did it turn out? it means that you didn't get Band 12. if you're not familiar with the benefits of Band 12, look it up. it can make/break getting signal inside

I think I read that the iPhones WERE excluded this time around. The language was actually added to the Discover site before we knew the official names of the phones. http://bgr.com/2017/09/12/iphone-x-and-iphone-8-product-names-discover/

Link was interesting, but they seemed to have removed the restriction! At 6AM and also now I see:

No exception for iPhone 8 or X, or any of the other new products.

I need help.

I turned in my 6S 128GB last year to get the 7+ 128 and they gave me a $650 EIP credit that would pay out in monthly installments for 24 months. I'm on Jump 2.0 and I want to get the X. If I trade in my 7+ to get the X on JUMP, then I will lose that last 12 months of credits ($325). Does that mean my bill would go up $30 since no more credits or would it go up $60 since I'm also getting a newer phone? The JUMP is throwing me off.

Would it make more sense to keep the 7+ and it would be mine for free in 12 months because of EIP, and also just purchase an X normally through their plan.

Gosh, it sounds confusing just typing it out. The chat rep on T-Mobile was no help.
[doublepost=1505502096][/doublepost]Also, glad to see some familiar usernames from last year's ordering fiasco.

Very odd! I was going to order the same way but I chatted with Discover just an hour ago and got the following response.. "iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 ,Apple TV 4K, gift cards, gift wrap, Bose, products to non-end users/purchases for resale, more than 5 of an eligible product, employee programs, more than 2 iPhones within 30 days, shipping, taxes/fees are all excluded from the deal."

So, I am not going to try it but I hope yours goes through!

If I pre-order with T mobile through the web, does anyone know the following?

-Can I bring my iphone 6 back to the store / or do I have to ship it back? If so, is it free shipping?
-If I purchase the new phone will I lose my 20% hookup to my monthly bill?

I am not a T Mobile employee but my understandings are
- it should be free shipping. I am hoping to bring it to the store so there is no funny business in case there is a discrepancy between what I sent and what they are seeing.
- it should not change your hookup discount since that is plan related, and you are changing phones. at least it didn't for me, my pre and post monthly bill was the same at the checkout window.

hope that helps! for sure if an actual employee chimed in his/her word is worth more than mine

Wait, I think I get it now. JUMP means you just don't have to finish paying the device off. You just return it. It's like you're renting the device. Is this right? Anyone know (Tmobile rep doesn't seem to know)

Did anyone else's EIP agreement reference their monthly bill will be $36/month vs the $33 they claimed on the phone for the plus?

Thanks! I think I might just do it at the store as you said to make sure of no funny business!

yes jump is basically a lease program you pay it monthly until its half paid off then you have the option to keep it or return it and get something new.

Per my past experience with T-Mobile, the store will not accept the trade in phone. The old phone must be sent to the phone trade in processing center. Unless they change the process, you still need to send it as directed. T-Mobile will provide you the shipping label and scanned eligible number information.

Whereas jump on demand is you can get into another phone 3 times a year, don't have to wait until half paid off correct?

so it shows full 300 credit for a trade in mint 6s .... you people think they can still just give you $25 and then you wont be able to do anything about it ?

Thanks. Wish I had figured that out sooner. I think I could sell a 7+ 128GB for more than just 50% value. From here on out just going to purchase my phones straight up

So basically JOD doesn't make sense unless you want to try out a bunch of Android phones seeing as Apple is on a yearly release schedule.

It also makes sense if you want to get an 8 Plus and then jump to the X, as I will most likely do. :)

True in any other years, but I want to try out X in a couple months, and with the looming lack of Band 71 coverage, neither 8 and X are long term solution as the iPhone to keep for more than couple years. That's why I jumped on the JOD bandwagon for the first time, I will definitely buy a 2nd gen X in a couple years with all the kinks fixed and Band 71 included when my lease term expires.

Is Jump the reason why T-mobile doesn't let us just do IUP online?
I'm a bit confused. I would like to get yearly upgrades for the cheapest cost. For example, which is better for the iPhone 8+/64g, Jump($9-15/mo + credit based fee/mo), or the iUP($39.40/mo)? Or are they relatively the same in cost?
