Got $40 off ($760 for a 64GB 8 plus) going through the Discovercard site and buying with that card. Normally they disallow iPhone purchases when they first come out, but it wasn't restricted this time. Ordered at 6AM PST and delivery is 9/25 - 10/2, so didn't really lose much to get a good night's sleep. Demand is obviously lower, I guess lots of people are waiting for the X. I'm replacing my 3 year old 6.

In the past I've bought the T-Mobile phone because the sim-free wasn't available, then I remove the sim and put in another T-Mobile sim that I can activate for the $30/month prepaid plan (can't get prepaid when trying to activate with the supplied T-Mobile sim). But with sim-free available right away, just ordered that and will move my sim over.

Don't think this thread will do the numbers like the last one. Think that one got up to almost 1000 pages. Glad I preordered my 8+ though. Tmobs process was pretty easy.

It was free for me too :)

I've gotten no texts or emails and the order went through according to the rep and everything :(

Did you get free overnight shipping? Is that because you ordered over the phone? I have no indication that I am going to get upgraded to free next day. I signed my EID online and I have only gotten an email confirming that. No order confirmations yet. Ordered almost 9 hours ago.

I didn't select overnight shipping and they said I would get the phone on 9/21 or 9/22

For those of you that did online t mobile with trade in. so I see that the 300 bucks is spread out over 24 months. I would rather just pay it all off. do you think I can pay off the difference and then get the 300 credited right then and there, or will it have to be a 2 year process? BTW I traded in a iPhone 6 16gb gold unlocked and it said 12.50/month credit(x24months gives me 300).

Looking forward to everyone posting pics of their device when they receive them on 9/22! I was tempted to pre-order via T-Mobile's site early this morning, but I want to hold off to see what the space gray looks like in person.

Thanks. I wonder if I will get that. I have no indication either way right now. Don’t know if I should keep my order or just go into a store and do an In-store order.
Is it even possible to get the phone on the 21st or is that just the shipping day

I think mine said shipping 9/21 - 9/22, so that means delivery just a day or 2 later since I got the overnight delivery option(FYI it is preselected to ground, and I had to change it to overnight -$0)

OOPS, EDIT: SCRATCH BELOW...I just saw your iPhone trade-in...they had some specials where you get your iPhone free if keep it for 24 months...was this your previous deal? If that is the case, what I wrote below does not apply. I'm not sure how that will work for you, sorry.

EIP? or Jump On Demand?

EIP, you can pay it off, but, have to contact them to tell them to put that $ toward paying off your phone, otherwise you just get credit on your bill.

If Jump On Demand, then, no, you are locked in to the payment plan they set you up with. I've even tried to put more $ down up front to change the payment and they won't allow it. Although, you might be able to pay off the phone in full, I've not tried that.

For T-mo support: Try online chat (logged in to your t-mo account via computer, this is easiest, they can tap right into your account info., no need to give them all your info.) - this may also work via t-mo mobile app?, twitter or phone, but, phone is last option, I would go to the physical store before calling them.

EDIT: the difference w/T-mo, you're not locked into a contract deal for the phone and your plan, you simply have payments to pay off your phone separately from your plan. One of the reasons I switched 3 years ago (from AT&T).

T Mobile upgrades everyone who pre orders to free overnight shipping via ups. They’ve done it for the past few years. Rep confirmed this for me as well during my order.

Not sure if this has been answered, but are the iphone x's using the older intel chips (7630)? or is apple using the new intel chip (7560)?

I think I read that the iPhones WERE excluded this time around. The language was actually added to the Discover site before we knew the official names of the phones. http://bgr.com/2017/09/12/iphone-x-and-iphone-8-product-names-discover/

Exactly. All thanks to the X.

Thank you X! May you delight people with your hexagon screen.
Yes! :D I'm happy preordering the 8+
The X didn't really stand out to me as much as I had hoped for it too. It still looks like an awesome phone, just not for me :)

Called right now and the delivery window for 8/64 is still 9/22-9/23. I have a 6/16GB so the $300 credit is tempting, but I was told that if I paid off the EIP, I'd lose that monthly credit. So, in a way, I'm forced to pay off the phone over the next 24 mos which bothers me. I'm fine with them crediting me the $300 over 24 mos/as long as I'm with them but I wanted the flexibility of paying off the phone and owning it free and clear. Still undecided- maybe I'll try to sell the 6 (I'm pretty sure I'll get less than $300) outside and buy a sim-free phone from Apple Store.

Does anyone know if they unlock the phone while it is on EIP? I've got conflicting answers on that too. I travel a lot, so having it unlocked is vital for me. (One reason I wanted to pay off EIP) but one CSR said they would only do a temp unlock while the other said they unlocked even when on EIP for business accounts

If the device is financed using T-Mobile’s Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) ,or if it's leased through JUMP! On Demand, all payments must be satisfied and the device must be paid in full unless otherwise specified.

Nope sorry

Thanks, that was my impression too. But the CSR I just spoke to said they did unlock EIP phones for business accounts. So much conflicting information out there. Ugh!

I agree. It’s a great phone with some design choices I didn’t agree with. Oh, and it costs five easy payments of $199.95.... Apple will make lots and lots of money.
