This order process was so much easier than last year's debacle... Although first rep took my info and didn't even place the order, I called back and got another rep who processed my order (iPhone 8+ sliver 64GB, JOD). $0 down and delivery date between 9/21 & 9/22 (hoping it's 9/21 I work a 24hr shift the 22nd). Weird that I wasn't charged the $20 fee though..

Last year for the 7 pre-order I just got it on all 3 orders without saying or paying anything extra. I wonder what happened this time around.

Since this year there are few orders to ship the planes will be almost empty. Taking advantage of this situation UPS is planning to sell tickets to passenger who wants to travel to USA. Since it will be a cargo plane there will be not seats but passengers will sit on the plane floor with the fluffy comforter.

They said I have JOD but I had to pay a $99.99 down payment plus that $20 fee, and taxes

I don't understand that. I'm JOD and it was either $0 downpayment for the 64gb or like $250 for the 256gb. And they mentioned the $20 fee to me if I ordered over the phone but ended up not charging me for it.

What is this $20 fee I keep reading about?
Supposedly for placing orders over the phone, but I have never been charged this in the past for JOD upgrades placed over the phone, and they did not charge it today either. Might have been a one-off misunderstanding that spread like wildfire as a rumor, but apparently, some folks are being charged this. If you read a couple pages back, you might be able to get a credit if they charge you the fee by going into the store and *politely* complaining.

Think I dun goofed. Waivered between 64 and 256 and initially went with 256. Once I heard it'd be $300 down I switched to 64 lol.

Now I'm regretting my choice. Anyone have any experience switching out a phone for an order already placed and EIP signed for? I swear I never learn to just go with my gut!! Damnit!

i just signed up JOD for the first time. i was gonna do the 24 month EIP with trade in, but changed my mind after they told me the phone i was gonna trade in only worth $118 instead of the full $300. I called in to place the order and got the esignature email and signed it. now i just received the "You new device order has been placed" email, does that mean i'm good to go? i'm getting a gold iPhone 8 Plus 64G, 0 down 33 a month. i will definitely upgrade to an X in a couple months. Insurance is not mandatory but do you guys on JOD purchase the $12/month device insurance?

Yeah I wanted to trade in my 6S for JOD also, they told me trade in promotion is only for EIP plan.
[doublepost=1505471852][/doublepost]I just signed up for JOD, but the eSignature email I received contains EIP in the title. I asked the rep she said probably a generic email title for both EIP and JOD, is this normal?

With any phone purchase, you have 14 days after you receive the phone to change it. I don't think you can cancel the order now because it's in process. You have to wait until you receive the phone then have the change order processed. Basically starting the order over.

Might want to follow up - mine says ‘JUMP! On Demand Lease Agreement’ at the top.

This is the first time in many years that I have not ordered a new iPhone the first day that they became available.

It has to do with Apple’s lack of support for Band 71, the new spectrum that T-Mobile bought to cover long distances in rural areas and future 5G.

Unfortunately, my main residence is located in the middle of an area that benefits from Band 71, and I also travel and work in areas that would have benefitted from Apple’s support of this band.

When T-Mobile rolled out Band 12 in this part of the world, it was suddenly worthwhile to switch away from AT&T. So I have coverage with Bands 2 and 12.

But I don’t see the urgency to buy a new iPhone when it doesn’t cover the one LTE band that would make life significantly better for us.

I am still an Apple supporter, and will be fine with the 7 Plus and SE until we get Band 71.

However, I am disappointed that Apple did not look forward to this and provide for it.

Perhaps the SIM Free version will have Band 71.

Didn't have a chance to read the whole thread but any data points in people using iUP with t mobile and being able to ship in the old phone? Or is it in store only? Thanks!

Does your credit card get charged when it actually ships?
Yes, that’s what I was told.

If you have a store near you, it’s probably easier to just drop it off there since they take care of all shipping charges, at least that’s how I did it last year with my JUMP! upgrade to the 7.

so the $300 offer is only valid on EIP. which makes no sense whatsoever. my phone is 100% paid off so what difference does it make?

just an awful year all around for a new iphone. i was willing to upgrade if i didnt have to pay down payment and taxes up front but the 8 just isnt enough to make me want to pay even the $130 it takes up front. the 6s+ will be just fine for another year.

unless they offer a real promotion for the X

Last year shippint dates do NOT look like this lol - This pre-order forum will jump when x comes closer

The shipping estimates were at October - December for Jet Black last year. It was unbelievable but this year seems to be more streamlined
