will you be getting the 256gb?
[doublepost=1508798268][/doublepost]
I just figured out, jump on demand is just a 18 month lease and you can upgrade at least 3 times in a year. But why would i need that if iphone x will be the phone i would really want.
THIS I done understand JOD at all. but is ut really zero down?! I upgrade to the new iPhone every year. I just flip it on eBay for the remaining balance after a year (~50%) and enough for the down payment for the next iPhone which is usually like 100 for me. cuz I get a high GB size (128) should I get JOD?

I have a question about JOD..Can I put more then $0 down on the 64gb X so that my monthly payments are lower?

If it's like regular JUMP at all, it'll make less payments but won't lower it. I'd recommend asking T-Mobile but I'd never heard of them lowering the monthly payments.

Looking at my original query:

After speaking with NINE different Apple reps and THREE T-Mo reps -- many telling different stories -- I've concluded that since I have a Business Account with T-Mo, I cannot partake in Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program because they cannot activate the phone (Citizen's requirement) because they won't have access to my account. Looking for validation here.

Furthermore, T-Mo's 12 month cash outlay for the 256 GB iPhone X is $242.82 ($429.99 + [$30 x 12] + $103.50 tax) higher than Apple's $54.14/mo. And the ability to upgrade is limited to ONE TIME ONLY?!?

Am I missing anything here or is THAT my only option other than purchasing the phone outright at $1149 + tax?

And then the figures:

[EIP]
  • 64GB: $279.99 down, $30 per month (FRP: $999.99)
  • 256GB: $429.99 down, $30 per month (FRP: $1,149.99)
JUMP! On Demand

  • 64GB: $0 down, $41.56 per month (FRP: $999.99)
  • 256GB: $429.99 down, $24 per month (FRP: $1,149.99)

These numbers are confusing me. So for EIP on a 256GB on T-Mobiles iPhone Upgrade program we’re looking at:

T-Mobile: $790 after 12 months
-$430 Down + $360 ($30x12 if the above posts are right)

Apple’s IUP: $673.92 after 12 months.
-$56.16x12

Am I missing something? Apple’s plan seems like the better deal.

I'm seeing I wasn't that far off. Looks like JOD is not a horrible option. Total cash outlay after 12 months being $717.99.

Questions:

  • I cannot partake in Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program because I have a T-Mo Business Account?
  • Trading in an iPhone 6 will only get me $150 if I upgrade 12 months from now?!?
  • If all goes according to plan, do I just log in to my.t-mobile.com and execute a JOD? No prequalification or other hoops?

The difference I see is that Apples plan includes AppleCare. I do not think JOD does.

That's not quite correct. Whenever I purchase anything on EIP from T-Mobile and put down more than what's required, the length of time is always kept at 24 months which means that the payment is lower. So, T-Mobile always spreads the amount left to pay over a 24 month period (this doesn't include JOD).

Regarding the $300 trade in, I read the $300 was spread out over 24 months as bill credits ($12.50 per month).

Appleinsider is reporting that:

“T-Mobile will pay customers the $300 up front, depending on trade-in value. The balance of the $300 credit not paid at sign up is applied over the course of 24 monthly payments.”

That is the first time I’ve seen something saying T-Mobile will give anything besides a monthly credit. Does anyone know if this is true and how it works?

They’re inaccurate. They don’t give $300 up front for this specific promo. It’s bill credits only and that’s how it’s always been with the iPhone promos.

I thought they might be wrong. However, 3 years ago when I bought the 6 from T-Mobile, I got the full credit applied immediately. I knew they had changed this recently, so I was surprised to see Appleinsider's report. Thanks for the clarification.

And if you need a refresher on T-Mobile’s iPhone X prices, your various options are below:

Through the Equipment Installment Plan (i.e., a spacing out the cost of the phone across 24 months:)

  • 64GB: $279.99 down, with $30 per month payments for 24 months (for a total retail value of $999.99)
  • 256GB: $429.99 down, with $30 per month payments for 24 months (for a total retail value of $1,149.99)
Jump! On Demand (T-Mobile’s rental program)

  • 64GB: $41.56 a month
  • 256GB: $429.99 down, $24 a month

There's a few T Mobile employees over on the reddit forums that have stated that there is a new internal policy regarding JOD. In on order for you to qualify for $0 down for the 64gb iPhone X on JOD you must be a well qualified customer PLUS have tenure with T-Mobile for THREE years. This change went into effect October 23, 2017. Well qualified meaning you qualified with top credit with T Mobile when you first signed up. If that's not your case, the info i was told by T Mobile is it will be $279.99 down and $26 per month for the 64gb.

Ugh lol why does everyone give different answers. Just talked to a rep and they said the only requirement for $0 down was a good credit score. I specifically asked about the tenure with Tmobile point you mentioned and he said that wasn't true...so idk lol.

Welp, here we are again.

JoD customer here. Let's hope this year goes smoother than the last two. My confidence in this happening is super, super, super low though lol.

TMO will likely have the same issues that have plagued iPhone launches since they started selling them. But isn't that half the fun???
Yeah last year was definitely a sh*t show

Yeah i know this whole thing is confusing already lol. Now this is info I got from the reddit forums from T mobile employees. Supposedly it's an internal policy, something that shouldn't be discussed with a customer. Weird thing is i asked specifically to T Force on twitter if i qualified for $0 down and she told me again $0 down for "well qualified customers" and she mentioned standard JOD customers have the $279.99 down payment. A few reps also mentioned there is no way to know what you would qualify for until pre orders open up.

Lol that's so frustrating. We're about to drop 1k on a phone in one form or another, the pricing should really be transparent and obvious.

So I messaged them and asked them what the down payment for the X wld be for a JOD customer and they said they can’t tell me until the day of preorder, but then I called (because tmobile reps always tell you different things) and the lady told me it will be $0 down...however I messaged them again and asked and they said they don’t have that info yet...sooooo here we go again!

For those who remember the iPhone 7 Plus debacle but still received their phones on launch day, whats the best way to go about pre-ordering? Via phone, app, twitter, or web???

Me personally it was over the phone. I called about a minute or two before pre orders went live, someone answered right away, took my order down within 5 minutes and i was able to get my phone both times on release day.

I know right, if it's too much people can get sleep
Im actually on the phone with them now. They said they don’t have any pricing yet. I feel like the article that’s out isn’t official.
yes most of them say that but yet I called rather than message them from the app and the lady told me yesterday that it’s going to be $0 down for the 64gb for JOD
