256gb is still $429.99 but the confusing part that i'm seeing is some people are saying the 64gb model is $279 for $26 a month while i thought it was $41.56?
Maybe it's $41.56 without the down payment?

$41.56 x 24 = $997.41

So, about right?

Yet what about the taxes? I'm wondering if the zero down will have a large payment at the end if they want to keep it?

Mmm that is some weird information. If you look at many of the article being posted about the tmobile iphone x, multiple known website are saying that the 256gb will be 429.99 down for $26 a month, with JOD. and the 64gb is $41.56 a month with $0 down.

if you get that 64gb for 41.56 a month and $0 down, you would still have to pay for the taxes the day you preorder.

Oh okay! So the same as regular JUMP just without the down payment on top of it. Sorry, I've had my plan a long time and don't know much about JOD.

Yeah it’s truly confusing here I just know the $41.56 is for 0 down but I guess we’ll find out on Friday.

I saw a photo on here that there is a lump sum at the end if you want the device because you are only doing 18 months of payments?

I’m wondering if you did buy the phone out in 18 months what the price would be to sell it back since it’s the most exspensive iPhone out yet?

I’m not really even sure how either of those work out.

$1000 - $280 down is $720

Divide that by 24 payments and you get $29 and change.

There is always a lump sum with jump on demand. There is never a lump sum with jump.

Some ofnthisnisngoinf to depend on what Apple decides to do with this model next year. If they decide to drop it down to $700, we are going to be hurting. We really don’t know what happens. This is kind of new territory.

That’s what I’m thinking too and it would really suck if we lose a lot of value on a $1200 phone but if they do bring it back to the same price as we’ve been paying would be great in the end it’s a good and bad idea either way looking at it.

Unless thisnphone doesn’t sell well I don’t see them dropping it to the “old” prices. I do see them dropping it more than $100 though (as was standard). Maybe 150-200? Or maybe they just drop the phone altogether. They have sort of done this before. I’m banking on the latter for a couple years.

We get an 8s series (or whatever they call it but it’s an evolution of that style) and then we get the evolution of the X (I’m thinking they keep calling it an X, or do something like they’ve done with OSX and give it version names or something). The current Ge X is phased out and next year we see nothing but a spec bump in hardware across the board.

Obviously just guesses. I point this out because some smart ass is gonna ask me if I’m Tim Cook after reading this. :p

Maybe it's dependent on the plan. I'm on JUMP 1. So it's always been 24 payments unless I put more down, then it reduces the payments but not the price of them monthly. Hmm.

Hm, i have 1 phone on Jump 1, 1 phone on Jump 2 and an accessory on EIP ( plus 2 phones on JOD). With the non-JOD lines, it’s always been the balance divided by 24 months, regardless of the down payment amount. Maybe different stores just do it differently

Weird. I don't know then. Perhaps it's how they apply the funds at the time?

JOD actually does not have taxes upfront since it’s a lease. They include taxes in your monthly payment. It’s a least for 18 months. At the 18 months you can finance the residual amount with EIP or you can trade in the phone and get another one. Kind of like a car lease If you think about it.

is all this hype over JOD just because u can possible get zero down? I've been using EIP since the iPhone 6. I sell it locally after 12mo to pay off the remaining balance and have enough left for any down payment for the latest iPhone. Its pretty much my own "zero down" Any reason to stray from the system I been using for 3 years?

I thought so. I had heard of the amount at the end. So with JOD, you can't sell the phone to pay it off right?

The real benefit of JoD is you can swap three phones a year. If they’re all zero down you don’t feel like you have to commit to something if you hate it.

I think there’s a lot of potential for resale volatility this year too. Who knows what next year will look like in terms of resale? Will the X be a hit at $1k? Will Apple end up dropping the price? It’s the biggest jump in iPhone price, well, ever.

Question for all those planning to jump through JOD to the iPhone x. Will the Tmobile website allow ordering at midnight, or do I stand a better chance buying it outright on the Apple website?

Phone, t-force (twitter), or your local store (the next morning) for JOD.

Don’t join the JoD program. It isn’t that great anymore, especially if you only upgrade yearly with the iPhone. I left EIP for JoD due to a nice promo, but since then it seems like JoD is the red headed stepchild of TMO phone payment plans.

I used to do what you do and it makes perfect sense to keep doing so. The only downside to that method is fraud potential from buyers. That said, I wanted out of JoD so bad that I paid off my 7 Plus, sold it and got the 8 Plus on EIP. Took a small monetary hit but it was worth it.

Also, a bonus to using EIP is being enrolled in TMO’s iPhone upgrade program—you don’t get that with JoD.

I kinda want out of JOD, mainly because you have to call Tmobile to preorder. I don't get that. Why can't JOD customers use the app like everyone else? I think though I'm kinda stuck with JOD for now. Otherwise I'd have to pay over $300 to get out of my current 7s Plus, and then pay full price for the 256 X. That would be a LOT of $$$$.
