The difference I see is that Apples plan includes AppleCare. I do not think JOD does.

LOL Yeah, THAT was the obvious difference. T-Mo has way too many options.

Don’t join the JoD program. It isn’t that great anymore, especially if you only upgrade yearly with the iPhone. I left EIP for JoD due to a nice promo, but since then it seems like JoD is the red headed stepchild of TMO phone payment plans.

I used to do what you do and it makes perfect sense to keep doing so. The only downside to that method is fraud potential from buyers. That said, I wanted out of JoD so bad that I paid off my 7 Plus, sold it and got the 8 Plus on EIP. Took a small monetary hit but it was worth it.

Also, a bonus to using EIP is being enrolled in TMO’s iPhone upgrade program—you don’t get that with JoD.

You bring up some very good points. Makes me rethink this whole payment plan thing. This is the first time I've entertained the idea. With all iPhones since the 3G, I've paid full price. Gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted and gave me an unlocked phone.

Although, an unlocked phone doesn't do much nowadays with T-Mo's plans.

Decisions...

Lingering Questions:

  • I cannot partake in Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program because I have a T-Mo Business Account?
  • Trading in an iPhone 6 will only get me $150 if I upgrade 12 months from now?!?

Just wanted to chime in here..

I just got off the phone with a tmo rep who was extremely helpful. In regards of the JOD pricing released recently, He confirmed that if one qualifies for $0 down on the base model (64gb) iPhone 8 Plus, you will in turn qualify for the $0 down on the base model (64gb) iPhone X. Now “qualifying” may have a few a bit nervous, but I’ll say I have less than stellar credit and have always been required to pay a down payment. However, I recently surpassed 3yrs with tmo so I’ll take this as a warm thank you from Legere himself.

This may not be new news to some, but for those who are a bit confused with qualifications and what will be asked to pay upfront come 12:01, I hope this clarifies things and calms a few nerves.

I personally have never used JOD, always EIP. But I do look forward to utilizing JOD’s $0 down on the iPhone X this time around. Cheers!

That’s good to know, I used one of my jumps to try out the iPhone 8+ and I paid nothing for it. I’ll be preordering the X on both my lines, unfortunately ones JOD and the others regular jump so I’ll be out of pocket on that one.

Yeah, I saw what occurred here.

If any of you want to pay off your device, both on EIP or JOD, you have to either specifically pay off the device or it'll just do the regular monthly payment. The only way I've found that it'll do this properly is through customer service. I find this convenient as when I call to pay it off, I also request an unlock at the exact same time. The unlock usually takes less than 48 hours for me.

Just to add to this, you can only pay off Jump lines in a store. They cannot process it over the phone or online, which is another reason why I’m done with JoD lol.

EIP lines can be paid online and via phone. Just wanted to clarify so nobody finds themselves in a pickle at the last second, thinking they can call and pay off their Jump line.

I figured I’d pay atleast $250 for a down payment. So that’s why I don’t mind doing it.

I don’t know how true this is. I fell there is so many things going around.
I've had 2 reps verify I'll be able to do zero down.

I told the rep that is was irresponsible for there to be so many different answers (and/or NO answers) floating around so close to pre-orders. It makes their company look silly and unprofessional. I will say that despite TERRIBLE pre-order experiences in the past--where I've had to get in touch with the Office of the President; one time resulting in them crediting my bill every month for a year for their screw up--I've always had my phone on launch day. We'll see what happens.

Goodness that must have been some serious screw-up

Woah! Really? I'm glad I'm on JUMP 1. I just call in to pay off devices. JOD seems like a super big hassle if you don't upgrade all the time or sell off devices.

Well guys, won't be joining the circus this year. T-mobile won't let me upgrade to X without losing my upgrade credits I got for trading in my 6S last year. Doesn't make sense to give up $300 so I'm just going to buy straight up from Apple. Hopefully it's less of a mess over there. If I get one, awesome, if not then my 7+ will do just fine till X becomes available.

Good luck everyone

Rep I spoke with earlier said my 7 Plus must be paid off in order to upgrade to the iPhone X. I’m on JOD. Is this true?

Was just told by Apple reps that the iPhone Upgrade for new users won't open on Friday for the iPhone X if you're with T-Mobile. Meaning you won't have to preorder and will have to place your order on 11/3. Wow.

JoD iPhone X 64GB $279.99 down, $27/moth. Just checked. Also, must be done over the phone. Cannot be pre-ordered on TM website

Wrong. That defies JOD program.

Does ANY iPhone 6 or above qualify for the total $300?
If you do EIP and upgrade after 12 months, do you lose the remaining 12 months in credits?

I called earlier and was told they hadn’t released any pricing yet and I decided to message them through the app and that’s what I asked and the response I got. Idk who to believe so I’m just gonna call at midnight tomorrow and see what happens.

I am going to go with the Apple iPhone Program after being on JOD for the last 3 iPhone cycles.

If anyone's interested, I will be leaving JOD by jumping on my two lines, and returning $0 down devices within 14 days after taking the $50 restocking fee (x2) penalty.

$100 to get out of one of the worst leasing programs in the industry, I'll take it.

It will suck to be put at the back of the line, only being able to place my preorder at 10am at my local Apple Store to switch over but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm going to save you $100, pay attention:

1. Call in your order to any JoD device you like. Doesn't matter which one.

2. DO NOT SIGN THE DOCUMENT THEY MAIL YOU

3. Confirm you read step 2 and don't sign those documents.

4. Go to a TMobile store to turn in your old device. They will see the new jump and process it like normal.

5. Don't sign the documents they emailed you for the new phones.

The contracts they emailed you for the new phones expire after 48 hours and the order gets cancelled. You're out of JoD and not getting any restock fees.

I just did a really thorough cleaning of my iPhone 7+ 128 GB and it dropped my storage from 113 GB used to 26 GB. I'm going with 64 GB and relying on iCloud. I'll be picking the silver color so my chances at getting the device are higher than all the individuals that are yearning for space grey, I'll have a case on mine anyways so the color is whatever.

Also going to put down a $250 down payment (even if I am approved for $0 down) so my monthly bill stays at or near what I'm paying now.

Let the rat race begin tomorrow.

That's exactly what I'd call it, a rat race. I am gonna try and get the 256gb model only because I don't want to store anything in iCloud. I plan to use it for Videos (4k 60fps). Also music and maybe to text and call and use all the apps I can afford. My fingers are ready! STUPID question guys, will I have to have a T-Mobile account to buy the T-Mobile iPhone X?

[doublepost=1509001312][/doublepost]Only 24 hours to go guys, only 24 hours to go!

New to Tmobile and planning to upgrade and join the iup plan. Seems like I can't preorder the iPhone X through the website and have to get it when it launches. Question is it possible to preorder the verzion version and put a Tmobile sim in it? Just wondering because my unlocked 7plus is the Verizon model.
