Me personally it was over the phone. I called about a minute or two before pre orders went live, someone answered right away, took my order down within 5 minutes and i was able to get my phone both times on release day.

Same here. I've done this every year since JOD very first came out without issue. There have been some longer wait times when preordering in the past, but still always got the phone on launch day. When I preordered my 8+ I called in the day of at about 730 am, no wait and preorder went through as planned. I say they are getting better at it.

Page 57 in this thread says that TMO is instituting a "line clearing" for calls that were placed before 12:01A, so you can't hold the phone with a rep until pre-orders begin. Not sure how well that would work or bode over with customers, but just something to keep in mind.

Also, yes last year was 100% a sh*t show BUT I also got like $70 in bill credit for it so if it's a sh*t show again this year, I expect to get that bill credit. It's a win-win situation, either I get my phone no problem (win) or I get my phone with problems but am given a break on my phone bill (win).

After last year, I've learned to accept that it's just a phone and it'll come to me at some point.

I was also very fortunate every year giving them a call and preordering was very simple. However, since this might be the biggest iphone, everyone is going to want it and the supply demand is really low this year due to production issue. With preordering the iphone 8, of course it was easy to preorder and recieve it because apple didnt get much sells on the iphone 8 so they had alot of stock already. Apple already cut down their iphone 8 production by 50% because no one ordered it.

Just got off the phone with tmobile, and again, they didn't know any of the pricing. This is getting ridiculous, yes i know it is just a phone, but i'm graduating with my bachelors this year and I want to treat myself lol. I just want the phone now.

I spoke with 3 different reps an hour ago and got the same answer from all 3 which is rare. I have 2 options: 1 I can preorder the 256GB color I want and pay $429.99 plus tax and pay $17.50 per month since I’m trading in my unused paid off 6+, or 2 I can pay full price at the Apple Store. I plan preorder through both the T-Mobile app and Apple App and keep whichever one will ship first.

There's a few T Mobile employees over on the reddit forums that have stated that there is a new internal policy regarding JOD. In on order for you to qualify for $0 down for the 64gb iPhone X on JOD you must be a well qualified customer PLUS have tenure with T-Mobile for THREE years. This change went into effect October 23, 2017. Well qualified meaning you qualified with top credit with T Mobile when you first signed up. If that's not your case, the info i was told by T Mobile is it will be $279.99 down and $26 per month for the 64gb.
FWIW: I have seen no such internal doc referencing tenure in conjunction with credit... now, tenure CAN play a part in your credit, i.e. 3+ years of service or 12 consecutive months of on-time full payments resulting in automatic well-qualified status. Perhaps that's what they're referring to. No internal doc I've seen, nor the communication from Mike Sievert and Jon Freier, mention such.

Anyone going to preorder the iphone x and still try to go to the tmobile store on release date to attempt to see if they could receive one?

That's usually my plan. Pre order and if it doesn't ship by release date, i try my luck in stores and if i happen to find it in stores, I cancel my pre order. This has only happen once before. Usually almost every time I got my phone on release date with the pre order.

I normally don't do this either, I was always lucky to recieve it within a week or two. But somehow this seems this might be a hard year to get it.

Yeah I hear ya, it's going to be a tough one to get. Specially if all those rumors of Apple only shipping about 2-3 million or whatever initially are true.

I got the following information on preordering from T-Mobile via their social media platform. I take anything anyone says to me from Tmovike with a grain of salt after thenorobkems I had with them. But anyway, it’s sxreen shotted and therefore not just here say.

Two weeks ago I was told it wouldn’t be eligible on JoD because of price.

I’ve been happy with my cost of service and the service itself. And customer service is always friendly but they’re back and forth constantly on issues. If a problem has two possible answers and you ask three different reps you’ll get seven different possibilities.

That's not quite correct. Whenever I purchase anything on EIP from T-Mobile and put down more than what's required, the length of time is always kept at 24 months which means that the payment is lower. So, T-Mobile always spreads the amount left to pay over a 24 month period (this doesn't include JOD).
Maybe it's dependent on the plan. I'm on JUMP 1. So it's always been 24 payments unless I put more down, then it reduces the payments but not the price of them monthly. Hmm.

I know that’s right! I completely agree! But you know what you gotta play them at their own game.Ive had them for almost 10 years and when one rep tells me something I don’t like I move on to the next lol they always give me what I want in the end lol just keep bugging them. That’s why we got JOD so we don’t have to make a down payment and we can upgrade more frequently! We pay them! That’s the attitude I have with them now lol

Wait I thought the down payment for the 256gb was 429.99 down? Did you hear something else?
256gb is still $429.99 but the confusing part that i'm seeing is some people are saying the 64gb model is $279 for $26 a month while i thought it was $41.56?
