I scheduled a "call back" through the site for 11:45pm. I spoke with the rep and STALLED as much as I could and kept asking the rep questions and questions cause they will only wait a max of 2 minutes on the line. I get my order placed at 12:15am and I received the EIP discourses immediately. Silly me didn't sign it till 12:45am though. I chatted today on Twitter and they stated that my order shows placed at 12:15am versus 12:45am...so I guess that didn't matter? I ordered 3 iPhone X's 64gb Space Gray.

For what its worth, the rep quoted me 11/2-11/3 delivery along with my order page

Im at 5 years and had to pay also on my JOD never had to before.
It’s also based on credit. I guess I should have phrased that better.

Step one is age of account. Must be 3+ years regardless of credit.

Step 2 is a credit check. This is also based on how many phones you have currently leased/ financed, or rather total dollar value.

It’s just their new policy for accounts younger than three years old for whatever reason. I opted for the regular 24 month payments. I’ll probably just lay it off if I’m happy with it.

Unless they change something (again lol), we should be ready for JoD on the next iPhone. I’ve learned with T-Mobile to not hold my breath about anything. They’ll decide next year that it’s for five year customers lol.

Honestly JoD and Jump are similar enough that they should just pick one and get rid of the other imo. The only real difference with JoD is you can swap the phone three times in a year. If you decide you want to use it as a full phone financing option you pay the same amount as you would on jump. Imo adding multiple options on a phone this expensive only serves to add to the confusion.
There are a few key differences between JUMP! and JOD... particularly with the target audiences. One is a purchase plan, while the other is a lease.

JOD is currently still allowing monthly Jumps... this will change come next August.

JoD is a lease but you can use it as a purchase option and still only pay the msrp of the phone. That’s why I think it’s all needlessly confusing.

I'd be interested to know if anyone with JOD got a 0 down iPhone X. I was also charged 279, and previously never paid a downpayment. Granted I JODd to an iPhone 8 Plus only 6 weeks ago just to see if I would like that instead, maybe since I have such few payments on it? Anyway, I literally texted my order over the mobile app while having lunch today. It was a great experience, very low stress. Order says Nov3-10th, but I'm sure that will slip once they see the inventory. No worries I have this pretty decent 8Plus to keep me company until then.

so do you think the estimate in the alert field is correct based on their expected allotment?

I’m hoping that it is, but unfortunately we won’t find out until those shipments come in. Every year I have pre-ordered with expected ship dates like these I have received my phones on launch day, but others did not. It seems that each year it does get better.

I did a JOD on my iPhone 7 to get the iPhone X. I got the confirmation email at 2:09am. My shipping date is the release date, so hopefully I’ll get mine that day, but somehow I doubt it. I put down $429.99 + tax for 24/month. Everything I read about the tmobile pricing was correct.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is JOD in this context?

I did for both of my JOD orders.

Yeah, this will be my third JOD for an Apple device w/T-Mobile. Opinion says that if you pre-ordered and got the 11/2-11/3 dates, you'll PROBABLY receive your device on or shortly after launch day. Remember, it's all about batch order with T-Mo for the most part. I've always been in the first batch and have never received my device later than the next business day after launch so I'd take T-Mo's word for it (for now).

But I'll probably start freaking out starting next Wednesday regardless, lol.

I really think the shipping date is just not accurate right now, as tmobile don't know their inventory status. I think we will all be in shock in a couple of days, either in a good way or bad way.

Again, it's in batches. So, the first batch of pre-orders will be filled with the first shipment of pre-orders T-Mo gets from Apple. Whether that's launch day or 2-3 weeks after is anyone's guess at this point (except Apple's). Aside from that, my iPhone 7+ is plenty fast and not broken. So I'm in no rush.
[doublepost=1509135157][/doublepost]I almost feel like Apple deliberately knew supply would be severely constrained this time around and cooked up the iPhone 8 & 8+ for all those people who go to buy the X in stores to only learn its sold out until Jan-Feb. Then, they can show them the "new 8" to purchase as a stop-gap. Genius marketing and opportunity (imo).

Pre ordered complete at 1:55am CT site was up and running for me at 1:52 am. iPhone X 64gb space gray fingers crossed delivery date doesn’t get pushed back like last year with the jet black 7 plus.

Everyone pays the same if you end up keeping the phone... we don't charge interest. JOD is not a purchase plan - JUMP!/EIP is. If your plan is to keep the phone, JOD is not the way to go... especially with the new stipulations on the more expensive devices. You end up paying the same - albeit with higher monthly charges.

I did JOD after recently doing it for the LG V30 (Don't ask me how they let me do it again-got my LG last Monday), I never gave them my CC info. They said and my EIP said ZERO down!

I don’t understand your logic. Why is JOD not the way to go if you plan on keeping the device? you pay the same in the end right? Whether I pay the 279 down now or at the end of 18 months it’s still the same. only I get to choose.

I seriously doubt it. they knew long ago the X was going to be a bear to manufacture and demand a premium.

All of tmobile plan are the same. At the end of the day, the phone is going to be the same retail price. The only difference is JOD is for people who want to upgrade three times a year.

I guess it’s up to you. Do whatever works.

If you pay off a JOD, you lose it - as it’s not offered for new customers in-store anymore (outside of our Smartpicks promo).

You can currently still JOD once/month (changing next August)

The moral of the story? Next time call 611 at 11:58. I was on hold for 10min or so, many others were on hold for far shorter time or not at all. In a few minutes, order placed and receiving on launch day.

T-Mobile's site and app have always been a mess. I would never even think of trying to do a pre-order on their site. Unfortunately, you had to go through the pain to figure that out. I've been there and feel for you.

Yep I dialed at 11:58, was talking to someone at 11:59. After two call backs bc their phones kept breaking up and I couldn’t hear them, my order went through at 12:17. Because I know T-Mo and this isn’t my first pre-order rodeo I called back to confirm. LOL.
[doublepost=1509137293][/doublepost]
Just got my $20 upgrade fee credited over T-Force. While they definitely have their downfalls at times, T-Mobile has been the only carrier to actually go above and beyond to fix an issue. That’s probably why I’ve been with them for 15 years now.

They are VERY good at giving stuff. I so appreciate that.

Hey Enygnatic- Out of curiosity, if I were to walk into the store on launch weekend and state i want out of T mobile, would I just have to pay the balance of the full retail price minus my 279 down payment, walk out with the phone and then switch to another carrier? Would that allow me to keep the phone and be done with T-mobile? i only ask because i am getting annoyed with the service here ( yes probably should have thought about this before last night). Curious from your standpoint as a store manager, etc.

Thanks

I believe iPhones ordered from T-Mo are locked until:

1. They are activated on a plan for at least 90 days.
2. They are fully paid off
3. The customer requests an unlock code from T-Force.

1 and 2 and 3 have to be true in order to get an unlock successfully.
