Wow these Jump On Demand and EIP prices hurt...

http://www.tmonews.com/2017/09/t-mobile-iphone-upgrade-program-official-details/

If you’d like to upgrade using JUMP! On Demand, here’s what you can expect to pay for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus:

iPhone 8

  • 64GB: $0 down and $29 per month
  • 256GB: $219.99 down and $23 per month
iPhone 8 Plus

  • 64GB: $0 down and $33 per month
  • 256GB: $279.99 down and $24 per month
Still no price for iPhone X on jump on demand though.

I just talked to someone at t-mobile and Those are the prices they gave me. Plus for the iPhone X was $279.99 for the 64gb and $429.99 for the 256gb one. I think I'm gonna have to wait till next year for that one or whatever the new one is they release next year.

Those prices are high but it doesn't seem like they will be any cheaper next year, at least if you don't want the base model storage.

I'm talking to T-Mobile right now and trying to get answers on the T-Mobile iPhone Upgrade Program because it seems like you don't need to do a down payment and once the phone is paid down to 50% you can trade it in which would mean I wouldn't need to worry about Jump On Demand anymore.

Plus I only buy one phone per year anyway and now with Jump On Demand needing a down payment with higher-end phones its just not worth it anymore if I'm paying a down payment every time I use it...

At the iPhone hacks section.
Im with you on that.
Prices are starting to get too steep and the minimal additions/improvements dont justify the price increases to me.
I predict a drop in purchase sales numbers from previous years and a continue decline.
People wont feel like paying $1200-1300 with sales tax to upgrade their phone or get a 2-3 year loan and make monthly payments on it.

I was planning on just paying in full when I order tonight but now I'm wondering if it makes more sense to finance it to possibly take advantage of the T-Mobile iPhone Upgrade Program in the future.

Also my son wants the same phone, so Id be paying for two iPhone X's plus the watches. That's like over $600 down, money's tighter this year so those are out. I might do the 2-8 pluses with 2-watches. I was quoted like $245 down for that. Then see what happens next year.

To me it always make more sense to finance phones that are this pricey but only if the finance plan is no interest and no down payment or a low down payment!

Being able to pay off 50% of the phone and get another one without the hassle of selling it through a 3rd-party works for me since I only upgrade once a year anyway.

I hear you, either the down-payment or full amount its the same thing in the end.
You're paying it one way or another. I dont like to finance phones and have long monthly payments like that.

Hi everyone,

I'm a T-Mobile customer looking to get a Verizon iPhone X (for maximum carrier compatibility) I know pre-ordering from the Apple Store application or Apple.com requires a Verizon account so one of my options is to reserve the phone and pick it up the morning of launch day.

Does anyone know if reservations open up the same time as pre-orders? Someone on Reddit stated that reservations open the morning of, but they don't remember for sure. Any advice from someone with prior experience would greatly be appreciated.

Couldn't you just buy the carrier unlocked model which is what Verizon uses anyway?

Also I thought you couldn't pick up your iPhone at an Apple store unless you're doing the Apple Upgrade Program, last year you could only have your iPhone shipped to home or business...

You can buy the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus carrier unlocked - https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-8#01

You can't pick that option yet for iPhone X but that may change when it closer to the pre-order date - https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-x

Okay, after much digging and researching I think I'm settling on trading in my old 6S for the $300 statement credit and get an 8+ 64G via T-Mobile EIP, which also qualifies me for the T-Mobile upgrade plan meaning I can get a new iPhone after one year or half of the payments paid. Am I missing anything?

Just remember that the $300 credit is spread out over 24 months (if that matters to you)

Also I can't get clear information on if the T-Mobile iPhone Program is it's own plan or not, will there be 4 plans or does anyone that buys one of the new iPhones automatically get this option?

From the link above, if you get the EIP then T-Mobile upgrade plan is included. I just spoke with T-Mobile and she did not refute to that when I mentioned it to her. I just made an appointment with my local T-Mobile store early tomorrow morning. The trade in is $300 spreading out in 24 payment deductions, I was able to confirm with her the trade in credit is for full $300, not up to, but the phone has to be in excellent condition, no cracks allowed in the surface of any kind.

So, if I use my JOD to get a 8+ 256 I have to lay out $280, then in a month or so if was to go to a X have to lay out another $300-400 or whatever they want for that phone?

Just finished talking to customer care rep and she told me the iPhone Upgrade Program is it's own plan but it's virtually the same as doing a Jump plan but you can only upgrade to an iPhone after 50% of the phone is paid off. On Jump you can upgrade to any phone once you pay off 50% of the phone.

I asked her if there needs to be a down payment with the T-Mobile iPhone Upgrade Program and she told me there is no down payment unless your account hasn't been in good standing for at least 12 months. So that means no late payments, issues, etc.

Also I asked how it works and she told me if you have Jump, Jump On Demand or EIP that the T-Mobile iPhone Upgrade Program is separate. So in other words if you have a phone your leasing with Jump or Jump On Demand then you would have to pay it off or just deal with double monthly payments (the phone you're currently leasing and the new iPhone).

Yep!!!

Jump On Demand makes no sense to have anymore because you have to pay a down payment for higher-end phones, I heard the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the last high-end phone that doesn't include a down payment if you have Jump On Demand...sucks!

the iPhone upgrade program sounds not to bad honestly since I've never switch to android so now my question is now if theres no down payment at all will the monthly payment be more then $30 for the phone or same?

Just spoke to TMO rep. With the new TMO upgrade plan you can't buy an iPhone 8 tomorrow and jump to an iPhone X when it comes out. It doesn't come with insurance which is fine you can always add it. So it's basically JOD but you can't jump 3 times in 18 months or whatever it is now.

One thing I'm trying to figure out is that it seems like the Apple IPhone Upgrade plan comes out cheaper if doing it for 12 months.

TMO IPhone X $429.99+full taxes then $30 month
APPLE IPhone Upgrade plan $56.16 month + full taxes

TMO 429.99+100.53(NY taxes)+360(12 payments $30/mo)=890
APPLE 673.92 (12 payments $56.16/mo)+100.53=774.45 and includes Apple Care.

Am I missing something here? If you kept the phone for the FULL 24 months then both plans seem to cost the same when you add in Apple care for TMO

i like TMO apple upgrade plan if i can Still pay $30 bucks a month as i am now because truthfully i would rather save the $15 even though its not much but $180 dollars a year there half of the down payment for next years iPhone if thats what it will be for the X.

LOL. Band 71 won't even be deployed to 99% of America before 2019. For the few people that will have access to it (major metro cities), this might effect their decision to wait. For everyone else that upgrades every year, this means nada!

You do realize that T-Mobile includes AppleCare with our insurance?

What does anyone think the odds are that the X is gonna be offered on JOD?

I think it will be offered for sure on Jump On Demand but...it's going to cost!

If the 256GB iPhone 8 Plus needs a down payment of $279 based off a retail price of $949 and both iPhone X models cost more then...

64GB iPhone X will be around $330 or more down payment

256GB iPhone X will be around $430 or more down payment

I wonder if I'm better off just buying the 256GB iPhone X in full at $1,149 and then sell it for no less than $600 next year, seem like that would be cheaper than these options if I have to do a big down payment and still pay $20 - $30 dollars a month anyway...
