Finally ordered my Dashcam. Got them to do the fitting though. I'm a stickler for a smart interior. I couldn't let those clowns at Halfords do it, even if their fitting was £100 cheaper.

BlackVue D750S 2 CH. Made a saving as they have announced the D900 series, but I don't need the extra features.

That's one of the brands (if not the specific model) I've been shopping, want to add one to the RT. I almost pulled the trigger on a Roav (a brand of Anker, who I generally love), the new C1 Pro, does 2K, slick UI, auto increments clips that can be downloaded via a mobile app, GPS for location stamping, motion sensor for auto on in the event someone bumps you while you're parked. Have a $25 discount coupon making it only $80, which is almost a "who not" price.

Well if you have a DAB radio be careful which one you go for.

So I just wanted to pop in and say that I test drove my brother's Tesla Model 3 this past weekend... I have to say I'm impressed.

The car feels heavy, but the handling is very good. The acceleration is amazing, there's so much torque there's no lag... it's immediate and powerful. I didn't do it with my nephew in the car, but my bro says he did 0 to 100kms in 5.9 seconds. My acceleration test was from 40 to 80 and it felt almost instantaneous. The default setting of regenerative braking is very noticeable when you take your foot off the accelerator and would take some getting used to (but you can turn it off apparently). The trunk space is enormous and the 'frunk' (front trunk) storage area is big enough to fit an 'airline sized' carry on bag with ease. When I said good bye to him and my nephew the loudest noise (with the car stereo off) was the A/C compressor.

Yeah I like my internal combustion engines, but I think I could live with a Tesla just fine. :)

My neighbor at the adjacent condo has an SRT Charger that he offered to let me drive tomorrow.

Only drove it briefly. Again, way too much traffic down here to take more advantage of this power. The SRT Charger is much different over the RT (I Drive the RT almost daily) Aside from the power, Even the way it handles is much different Over the RT. And I can’t say enough good things about UConnect (Responsive/fluid/straight-forward). Only thing I didn’t like about this model, is the 20 inch ‘brass monkey wheels’. Otherwise, this was almost exact specification of the SRT I was considering before the SHO.

Smoked headlights are legal in Florida? They're illegal here and for good reason.

While they look cool, I can't stand smoked headlights or taillights. Driving out of my apartment complex all of a sudden a car started to back out. They had smoked taillights and never noticed their brake lights or reverse light because it made them so dim.

Freaking safety hazard.

Ordered two weeks ago this beauty/beast. It will be delivered mid-October.

The new Mini Cooper S with JCW body (192 HP) and all the options except a sequential/automatic gearbox (I prefer manual), glass roof (got airco and I prefer a complete white roof), the LED glove box cover (would always light up orange because I'm using my iPod for music) and the keyless entry (still skeptical about keyless entry, I like to push a button to open my car).

Originally I wanted the 231 HP strong JCW (John Cooper Works), but thanks to VW's dieselgate and the new WLTP norms for fuel consumption that came from that, the JCW will be out of production for a year until the new engines arrive.

Yeah, I never modify safety equipment like primary lighting - there was a recent thread on the Durango board about tinting rear lights, I pointed out that all you need is to get rear ended and have an investigator note your non-DOT-compliant brake lights and suddenly you're liable.

Only slightly less worse: the white Charger is parked in a non-parking section ...

I think that's just a European/non-US concern[?] Thanks for the heads up though, I will confirm before I pull the trigger on a camera.

The Blackvue 650 and older had that problem The newer ones have a separate copper insulator that stops the interference.

Yeah, I don’t get the smoked light look. Especially oh a daily driver. Anything that reduces my visibility from my car or of my car is not on my mod list.
My ‘09 Charger had some pretty dark window tints, illegal in CO where I bought it, and in VA where I moved. I paid to have the tints removed and replaced with the legal tints, and it made a significant difference being able to see out of the car at night. Looked cool, in a ‘murdered out’ sort of way, as it was metallic black and debadged. But not enjoyable to drive at night.

I share your Tesla experience. I posted last
Week my first hands on with an electric car/Tesla, and it was outstanding.

Pictures/post here:

My neighbor down the road from Me owns the S85D Model he recently purchased. When I went for a test drive, it was rather funny, because he said “Let me show you what the acceleration feels like”, which he lightly tapped the Accelerator and I thought to myself “Its not that fast”, and then he stepped on the pedal harder and it completely threw me back and stunned me. To say the least, I was _not_ expecting the immediate power.

Altogether, it is really nice vehicle and I give Tesla/Elon Musk a lot of credit for building An amazing machine. The trunk space was adequate, lots of legroom, the only thing I didn’t care for in this specific model was there was the console area where the floor shifter would be, but in place was just a plastic storage compartment where you reach down awkwardly for whatever you Might need and some of the plastic trim looked cheap.

Additionally, My neighbor was telling me that there is lucrative tax incentives with this purchase and even the credit union that he used was providing an extremely low APR because it’s a 100% percent electric vehicle. But being that he drives a lot for his business he owns, he also mentioned that he was saving $300 – $500 a month in fuel costs alone. I believe he also had application on his phone where he could monitor the vehicles health/battery level, even schedule service right to his house if needed.

I Myself would never considered an electric vehicle prior to this test Drive, but I’m certainly open to the idea in the future and I really enjoyed the experience for what it was worth given some of the added side perks.

I’m wondering if and when FCA will get around to producing an AWD Charger Hellcat.
If they can do this:

Why not?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Packaging and market segment I'd say.

I guess you saw they just revamped the Challenger lineup, SRT gone but effectively in the R/T Scat Pack model variant, and the Hellcat dropped in price like $6K, the base model is now 717HP, just under $60K, the Redeye is 797HP, just under $70K.

I assume they are all green... :)

They're available in black as well.

There are many small wagons in Europe, like the VW Golf Variant, Peugeot 308 SW, Renault Mégane Grandtour, Seat León ST, Fiat Tipo Station Wagon, Škoda Fabia Combi, BMW 3er Touring, Mercedes C-Klasse T-Modell, Audi A4 Avant, Opel Astra Sports Tourer, Volvo V60, Ford Focus Estate, Subaru Levorg, Toyota Auris Touring Sports, Hyundai i30 Wagon, Kia Cee'd Sportswagon.

I have noticed that some European / Europe-only vehicles tend to look more modern than cars that are made for the U.S. market. Certain brands, such as Toyota, have recently vastly improved their designs, in the U.S.; but, for a while, it seemed that the design of a given U.S. import / American car was behind that of a Europe-only vehicle. A 2009 Opel Insignia, for instance, would fit alongside American / U.S.-market compact sedans from just a few years ago.

Now that cars here are beginning to have more European-inspired designs, it seems there's some catch-up finally going on.

By the typical metrics, it is a full size SUV.

1990-1997 LC

Wheelbase 112.2"
Length 189.8"

1995-1999 Tahoe

Wheelbase 111.5"
Length 188" or 199"

Yes, it's smaller than "super size" vehicles like the Suburban or Expedition, but it's also a fair bit larger than contemporary insurance-classed "Mid-Sized" SUVs like the Ford Explorer and Nissan Pathfinder.

Gray area. In any case, a mid-sized or less-than-super-sized SUV seems to be the way to go. Anything smaller is merely an inflated sedan—even more so nowadays, since body-on-frame isn't common. These crossover-type vehicles, such as the Maserati Levante; Tesla Model X; and Mercedes GLE coupe, make me gag. That's not an SUV—it's a sedan that's been stretched to look like a smaller SUV.

The Buick Regal is the Opel Insignia.

Obligatory video:

I actually never watched the movie [Bullitt] with Steve McQueen. I know there is a very strong nostalgia and following for some who really do appreciate the movie, but I think the Bullitt Mustang has some unique history behind it. I think it’s interesting that Ford revived the Mustang Bullitt, its a great looking car, but Oddly enough the only feature(s) I really like about the new 2019 Mustang Bullitt, is the Highland green color, Grill and its low key profile, but I believe *some* of the earlier Vin numbers will have some collectibility behind it in the future.

Interesting though, Jay Leno actually got to drive the original 1968 Bullitt Mustang that Steve McQueen drove in the movie.
