Anyway, best to everyone playing with theirs, and to those still waiting like me :)

Did UPS tracking ever move past departure scan?

Did your UPS tracking shoow it being in Ontario this AM? Here it is 3:30PM and nada:(
I got my 16gb delivered in San Diego at about noon today and I just havent been able to put this down. Even though I pre ordered it at 5:30am sight unseen I was still kind of unsure how this was going to be. Now that it's in my hands it just all makes sense and it's got to be one of the best computing experiences. Call me crazy but Im going to be using my MacBook pro a heck of a lot less from here on out. The keyboard works awesome for me and I'm getting used to it to the point of not caring about not having a physical one. Funny thing is my very untechie parents were all over it just as much as I was and thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Needless to say I'm very happy with the iPad.

Feel your frustration, but Apple clearly notes iTunes and 'puter are required. I too was irritated mine didn't come on ready out of the box. Perhaps if they had made this for use with a complete OS X....

Too bad they didn't and too bad they don't make all iPhone/Pad apps usable on a laptop.

Yea I mean obviously this isn't a laptop or a desktop. I know what it's purpose is and why I want it even though I already have an iPhone. The fact that they made sure it can sync with Windows XP, and that an iPhone CAN sync with a G4 just pisses me off though. Apparently it was an arbitrary choice they made, and a stupid one at that if they went through the trouble to make XP work.

Oh well. I guess I won't be buying one until I get my new iMac with the iCore processor. When ever they decide to release that in the smaller size.

Which of course is exactly what they wanted me to do!

Safari for iPad has Bookmarks bar. It's there. However, it's hidden unless you tap that Google search text gadget as if you're going to do a search. Once you do that, whether you are in landscape or portrait, the full Bookmarks Bar will appear just like it does on the full blown Desktop/Laptop Safari.

You can set the bar to always appear in the Safari settings.

How does the on-screen keyboard feel? I know it cannot replace a proper keyboard. But I hope one can be more productive with it. The iphone/ipod touch version is quite frustrating for me.

Huh? You can sync the iPhone/iPad with any computer with iTunes. Why you complaining?

It's pretty nice. Quite usable. It doesn't replace the laptop keyboard mainly because to access quotations and numbers, for instance, you have to press a key to switch the keyboard to show them. On the other hand, you'd be totally convinced that the keys are full-sized keys in landscape mode. You can type very fast, and almost like you're typing on a Macbook, with that orientation.

Not with your thumbs, or just a couple fingers. Particularly, in landscape, you'll position your hands like you would on your Macbook. It's not a proper keyboard, but it's definitely the next best thing. Leaves the Phone-sized keyboards in the dust.

I have the Kindle application since I had a few books from my Kindle I was still reading; it's fine, but I'll be doing my book buying through iBookstore from now on; the iBooks app is much better.

All my Kindle archive books showed up immediately in the Kindle app, but I don't think there is an iBooks app for the Mac yet, so I suppose Amazon has an edge there.

thanks for the reply.

I got one myself 32Gb :) sync in progress :D

What are your waiting for!?! It was hard financially for me, but I gave up on the G5 laptop years ago!

Intel Macs rock!

Yeah, I know, all that software replacement...been there, done that...sigh:(

Keep in mind for charging with USB... There are Y-adapters out there that plug into TWO USB ports and run the charge pins in parallel. Assuming your ports put out 500 mah, this will double it. With 1,000mah (1 amp), you should be able to charge it while using it (though not very quickly).

Loving it, also looks like Apple changed the iPad sync cable to non rounded corners haha

Left is the iPad cable right is the iPhone 3GS cable w00t!

Yeah, well...

The iPad does sound pretty neat from most of what people are saying, but, you know what? I think I'll hold out for Courier...

LOL, only joking. The End of April does sound like a long way away, though, for us rest-of-the-worlders.

An iPhone charges this way without an extra dongle, why not the iPad.

Solved the Safari bookmark issue only to be replaced by this!!!

You guys did just pay $500-plus, and almost every customer was guaranteed to be spending that much, so the least you should expect is some cheering and free coffee.

The manager at our Best Buy was on hand and running his ass off to keep people informed...but I didn't think to ask for coffee.

Cheering belongs at those MS stores...or TGIFs!!!

How is the weight? Does it feel like you can hold it with one hand for a lengthy amount of time?

HEAVY - and it ain't even my brother!

My major complaint is the weight - why didn't they go with the black plastic iPhone shell (or white!)???
