Hmm Amazon just charged my credit card for the macbook air 11" that I ordered even though they said they wouldn't have them in stock until July 29th. Does that mean they got them in stock early and should be shipping mine today? They don't charge until it ships right? It still says "shipping soon" on the amazon page with no tracking # or anything.

13" MacAir

I just received my new MacAir 13, base model with the Samsung SSD Im happy to say .
This is my first MacBook of any kind and I have to say why did it take me so long to switch from PC, the Mac,s are so easy and intuitive"seems to be human nature and the keyboard is great.

Ive been reading some people are still waiting for their Air,s to arrive and that seems strange sense I have mine so quickly and living in Vietnam to boot.

Just ordered a BTO 13" i7 Air. I can't wait. Unfortunately though, the expected delivery date is the 8th of August! Grr. But honestly, as a long time Air fan, I can not wait to get my hands on one with backlit keys, thunderbolt port and i7 processor. I am definitely going to try and keep this Mac for more than a year. Such a sucker for new products though!

After much deliberation (using this forum, apple discussions, tons of reviews) I finally pulled the trigger on a fully juiced 13" Air with 1.8 i7, 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD.

For a long while I was leaning more towards the 11", but the price difference between a fully specced 11" and 13" was so slight (I'm lucky enough that I can claim a discount through my employer) that the 13" just won out: a larger screen, SD slot and improved battery life sealed the deal.

I have plenty of other Macs - I've kept every one I've bought since 2000 - but I wanted to have a fresh system dedicated to learning the ins and outs of Lion, rather than upgrade my other devices which currently run on SL and run the risk of having trouble with apps/docs/my general long-ingrained way of doing things on that particular build of OS X. The MBA that I've settled with will totally fit the bill, can't wait to get some fullscreen Terminal action on the go :)

Delivery ETA is 5th August (UK), can't wait!

Just ordered my base 11" MBA from Apple with the Education discount! It hasn't shipped yet but estimated delivery is August 1st! Sooooo excited!!!! :D

got mine today :) placed it on friday and was prepared for shipment. tracking said it was supposed to come on friday but instead came today :)

I just got a 13" MBA 2011 from BB. This is my first Mac, and I love it. I have always been a big MS fan, and refused to goto Apple. In fact, I had a Zune HD for a while. My daughters had been begging me for iPod touches for Christmas, so I broke down and got them for them. I liked them so much, I bought myself an iPad 2 64, and I loved it. But then it got stolen. I have been mulling between a MBA or another iPad, and I decided to get this after it came out.

This baby is awesome. I love the form factor, of course, and the touchpad is great.

i think i'm going to throw up lol....

picked up my 11" 4gb/128gb on sunday from the apple store, been too busy to open it until tonight. setting up osx i'm thinking ... what happened to the lion background. plus the reinstall usb said 10.6 ... i'm thinking they must make you download lion if you reinstall then bamm i check and its a c2duo running snow leopard and the apple store is closed ... *cries* *feels like i'm going to toss my cookies*

i paid the full 1199 on the 24th, 4 days after the i5 came out but it is the c2duo model number on the receipt as well... i glanced at the stats sticker on the back before leaving the store .. 1.6/4/128

just those 1.6 were duo ghz and not core lol

i have a appt first thing tomorrow i really hope they don't try and say it's my fault and that they can't help me.

My MBA 11 256/1.8/4g just arrived in UK after a tour of the world with UPS, went China, Korea, Khazakstan, Poland, Germany and then UK. Will pop home lunchtime to set it up.

Started to place my order after much deliberation...but the Apple Store is down!

[Edit: the next morning...] Apple Store is back up and I just ordered my maxed-out 13" MBA using my corporate discount.

[Edit: later that day...] Found myself near an Apple Store, went in and they had the 13" MBA i7 in stock! Took it home and I'm typing on it right now. =)

Ordered the MBA 13" i5/4/256 GB from best buy. The arrival date changed from 3 August to back-ordered status. The best buy customercare says that it may take upto 3 weeks!!!

I just got my 13' MBA 128... nice... i would rather have a MBA than a iPad. i'm not heavy into Gaming, videos, or photos so the MBA is perfect for me.

Picked up a 13" i5 MBA from my local Apple store on my way home from work.

Just trying to do my part and stimulate the economy.

my first air, hoping it meets my needs.

My new job uses omnigraffel, so I needed a new mac. I purchased a used 2010 13" in brand new condition w/ original box & warranty for about $1100 (I think that's a good deal). It's a 1.8ghz/4gb/256ssd model and I'm hoping will serve well for my needs. I almost bought a new 11" (love the footprint) but couldn't see myself reaching max productivity on that since I'm going to do work stuff 90% of the time

I also like that the 2010's come with the SL USB stick, possibly better GPU for connecting external monitor and runs cooler. Hasn't been delivered yet, so we'll see how it goes.
