I think I'm going to go to the store and settle for the i5, can't wait. We'll see though

I would do the same but I got no real apple store in town, just the normal computer shops and they are all out of MBA's for 1-2 weeks, lol. So, still two more weeks time enjoying Windows ;)

My 13" 1.8GHz i7 MBA showed up at my door 2 days ago. So far I'm loving it. No excessive heat (it stays on my bare legs most days), no fan noise issues either. Surprised at how loud these hidden speakers are :D Some programs I've installed so far:
Open Office
VLC
FireFox
Evernote (took the plunge and upgraded to the premium. Luvin this app)
DesktopMonitor
SketchBook Pro
Kindle
Yahoo Messenger
Google Earth
Gimp
Stuffit Expander
Blender
I plugged in my Intuos4 tablet, fired up Sketchbook Pro and everything seemed to work just fine. Now, if only Corel will get things sorted for Lion...

After much deliberation (using this forum, apple discussions, tons of reviews) I finally pulled the trigger on a fully juiced 13" Air with 1.8 i7, 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD.
Am now sat typing this from my brand new slice of Air - it took exactly one week to arrive (Shanghai > Dubai > Germany > UK), two days earlier than the initial expected delivery date. Very happy indeed :D

Final Carrier

I ordered my new MBA last week and the Apple Shipment Status now says "Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date" and the assigned carrier is an odd "NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER"... I have some sort of tracking number but I'm not able to use it either with UPS or TNT... does some of you have an explanation for that? thanks :)

So I went to an Apple store last night ready to buy a MBA13 if they'd match the BestBuy sale price plus give me the Back to School card. (I qualify and had my ID with me).

Lady helping me said one or the other, no go on both. Walked out empty handed with the intent of going to BestBuy tonight

Thanks to Amazon and ace36's thread, I saved $90 over the BestBuy deal and I got an effectively free Kindle to play with while I wait for my MBA13 to ship. :)

Hello, MacRumors

As of yesterday I am a happy owner of my very first Macbook: Air 13" i5 128gb. It works fantastic and lion OS has some really neat features.

I received my MacBook Air earlier today.
- 13" (LG Philips)
- 1.7GHz i5
- 4GB RAM
- 256GB SSD (Samsung)

Transferred all of my files and settings, and played around for a couple of hours. Excellent machine! :apple:

I was at the Apple store tonight NYC and checked some of the New MBA 13' and 11' which are on display, and some still had the TS SSD's in them. I not going to say its a big deal, but i rather have the Samsung SSD.

My turn!

I guess it's my turn to post here - thanks to Tax Free Weekend here in NC, I was able to pick up my new computer this past Friday.

I got the Air 13" 1.7 i5 4GB with 256GB SSD, and I *LOVE* it!

I occasionally worry that I should have gotten the 11", or I should have gotten the i7, but I think this machine is the perfect compromise for me, and I don't do anything that would require the extra processing power of the i7. I'm old enough that the 11" would require a lot more squinting and I don't travel enough to justify choosing portability over the SD slot and bigger screen.

So I'm happy! LG screen, so I have the short band of gradient at the bottom, but Samsung SSD. Yay!

I ordered mine yesterday : ) It's coming from Shanghai to Canada!!!
A quick question, don't they have stock/inventory in Canada? : ( I honestly thought they would deliver from somewhere within Canada but I guess I should have known better lol.
