I ordered two 13" Airs on 8/4/13. The first one (for my wife) is a refurb 2012 i5/4GB/128GB SSD. It came in on 8/8. I was so jealous as she was using it all weekend, while mine was being prepped for shipment. Mine finally arrived (2013 model with the i5/8GB/256GB SSD) yesterday.

We've both been so happy with these Airs. They have been way faster than our previous Macs.

IMO, the 13" Air is definitely the sweet-spot for notebooks. I'm amazed at how light and portable they are, while still being so powerful! These machines are fantastic!

After much internal debate between the MBA & rMBP 13" I decided I didn't need to wait for new rMBP Haswell and went with a 13" MBA 8GB/256. So pumped as it was driving me crazy. Also ordered the new 2TB Airport Time Capsule to take advantage of the ac speed. Excited!

Been using my new 13/4/128/i5 to replace a 2012 MBA that I dropped.

The battery on this machine is mind blowing. The 2012 was good but this one blows it out of the park.

Just ordered a 13" Air, classic 1.3 i5 / 8GB Ram / 256GB SSD setup to act as a whip around laptop as I already have a beefy desktop.

My first Mac! Very excited, although apparently it wont be here until the 27th - 29th of August :(

Just picked up the base 13" from Best Buy. It was a bit of trouble to connect to wifi at first, but that was due to my router settings. Can't wait to put this device through it's paces later tonight. It looks like I got the LG screen. It doesn't look bad at all to me, maybe a little too bright, but I've changed it to the RGB profile.

I got an LG on my first unit (faulty hinge - replacement has Samsung) and I was happy with it once I used the screen profile that was recommended on MacRumors:

Just placed an order last night for the 13 inch Air through BB for my mother's birthday.
Got education pricing by using my old alumni email. Can't wait for her to get it!

This might seem like a stupid question, but is the Macbook Air supposed to have a panel of glass in front of the LCD? For some reason I remember the model in the store having a bit of a glare/reflection on it and I thought it had a glass panel in front of the screen. Mine doesn't have any glass infront and I'm wondering if that's how it's supposed to be.

Edit: Nevermind, Google is my friend.

Just got my 11" 128GB model from the Best buy deal. Bought it primarily for my trip overseas in a month.

Came out of the box with about 55% battery charge and a battery life calculation of almost 9 hours with about 25% brightness. Don't know how accurate that is and I'm sure it's cut down by a lot with actual usage but I'm impressed so far.

Not impressed with the screen, however, but I'll live.

Yup, I'm waiting too for mine to arrive, same specs. I will say its quite annoying that the Apple stores don't carry these in store. It's not like they have a ton of different models. I realize there are flooring costs associated with keeping inventory on hand, but it wouldn't hurt to keep a few on hand at all times. I'm curious how many people upgrade their MBA vs buying base model.

Ordered the MacBook Air Saturday from B&H. 2012model with the 11.6" screen and 64GB SSD. It will be replacing an iPad that I've used for the last 3 years. I guess I'm not a tablet person, as I really hated the limitations of the iPad. I used it with a ZaggMate cover and keyboard, 2 of them failed. I'm now using the ZaggMate as a cover only and using a Logitech keyboard. My home computer is a souped up Mac Pro. The iPad was used only on trips. I use my Motorola Droid 3 as a HotSpot.

I can't wait to have a real computer again when I travel:eek:

Lou,

Just wanted to pass thing along as I'm not sure you know about Best Buy's sale. You can get the 2013 MBA 11" i5/4/128 for only $50 more than what you paid for the one from B&H. Granted, you may have to pay tax on the one from Best Buy, but it's newer tech for not much more money. If you need a code for the extra $100 off the Best Buy deal, let me know. I'll give it to you for free!

Sucks that if i would need replacement i need to wait for 3 weeks because in my country no apple stores only premium resellers :/ But base model wouldn't be enough for me, will use MBA as main laptop+ bootcamp or vm for windows.

Thanks so much for the offer. My machine has shipped however. For what I will be using it for, it should fit the bill.

Be very careful-Wait to purchase

The mid 2013 Haswell machines especially the 13" have wi-fi issues and Apple will not or can not fix them. I have had 3 in a row that regularly drop off. Have been through all levels of support to no avail. Google the issue and check the Apple support forums. There is a thread on it with over 140,000 views. Lots of affected machines and no fix yet, despite what Apple says. The est the genius could do is offer me an upgrade to a pro at my expense. Do not buy now-wait till its fixed.

13" Air on the way

Lurked for quite some time, my recent purchase has prompted me to post.

Ordered a 13" MBA i5/8/256 Sunday (8/18/13), should arrive between 8/26 & 8/28. Got educational discount (college adjunct instructor) and the $100 App Store gift card. :D

After a lifetime spent exclusively with Windows I finally jumped over to Mac and received my new 13" MBA i7/8gb/256gb yesterday and it's like a long lost friend. My only worry was that I'm a habitual right-clicker, but once I learned that a two finger click does it, I knew I was home free. Already set up for my classes with iStudiez and, like with every PC I've ever owned, still whole heartedly loathe, despise and refuse to use, iTunes. (iTunes can suck it.)

I couldn't be happier with this machine. It's fast, it's beautiful and no wi-fi issues (works at both home and at school). Got the education discount (student) and the $100 app store card was a nice addition. It's been running off full charge (not heavy use, very few videos, and a few hours of sleep in between use) since noon yesterday and it's at 28% battery showing almost 5 hours of battery left. Incredible. Probably going to be over 30 hours of on time before I need to plug it back in. Even if PC's didn't leave me easily impressed, I'd still be very much so..

Also installed the bottom and keyboard iCarbons black carbon fiber 3M "stickers" for some protection, but haven't been able to cover up the pretty apple on the top. Will probably leave that one off. Always had black laptops and this makes it feel like mine. Plus, a little scratch protection never hurt anyone, right?

Interfacelift has provided over 50 pictures to the iPhoto library to keep the desktop beautiful and my slight A.D.D. in check. (Get bored with the same picture every day)

Now to muster up the gonads to install this Win 8 iso on a boot camp partition and I'll never be going back to PC's.

Thanks!

Got Win 8 Pro installed with the new EFI Boot setup...runs smooth and quick with no issues, but dang - such a huge change from 7. I don't think I'll be using it much (only if 100% necessary)..happy to be back on OS X.

Typing from my new shiny one packed with i7 8GB and 256GB. And must say... loving it.

Switching from Win7 this is an enjoyable and pleasant ride and I'm quite sure wont miss right click too much :)
