The "I just bought/ordered/got/shipped my new/refurb MBA" thread, [Merged]

For those of you in the DC area

There are two flights from Memphis - Dulles: FDX1540 and FDX1434. The former departs at 3:25AM and the latter 2:47AM. Both land before 6AM. Maybe, just maybe, the MBAs will get to us tomorrow! :D

Mine is currently in transit as of 12 pm eastern time today, from shanghai. When do you think delivery is. Its estimated for the 28th but i paid for 2-3 day shipping

Well I decided to sell my iPad and get the new Macbook Air 11.6"

I got the Macbook Air today and i'm loving it!!

I pulled the trigger today as well with a 13 inch and 4gb of ram .. now I have to wait for it to ship.
 
Hi guys! I ordered a maxed out 13 mba early this morning and paid for expedited shipping. Im leaving the country on vacation this coming sunday, do you guys think will I get the laptop by then? I was surprised they took my money already. Does it mean they expect to ship today?

Oh I'm in New Jersey.
 
This new 11" is definitely going to eat into iPad sales.

I'm keeping my iPad for various uses, but It's value as the only portable option has pretty much vanished.

Slim to none. I'd say 10% chance of it arriving by Friday since today many of the 10/20 orders are just shipping and it's 2-3 days out for delivery

It should give you a expected ship date on the apple website. it is usually pretty close to that or earlier.

Looks like my MBA is in the same crate as yours. I ordered the base 13.3" with the 4GB upgrade. Pretty funny to think that our new babies are chilling right next to each other in Alaska right now.

did the same thing, cant believe how much better this is than the ipad. No brainer really.

LOL... if your MBA didn't have Customs Clearance then chances are it's not on that flight. To those who said "they must go through the bins one by one" ... no, if that were the case China to US shipments would take 10 years... they electronically clear freight in-flight, then the clearance is when FEDEX clears a bin that everything inside has been cleared by customs. Different bins clear at different times because if your bin has a package to Juan Escobar in Colombia chances are it's getting a second look or secondary review. Then there are also random (but rare if you're not on a list) inspection.

Hi, I am on the UPS tracking page now but can't find the estimate date of delivery, anyone can tell me where to find it? Also, I didn't pay extra for the EXPEDITED shipping, but the ups page shows that mine is EXPEDITED service, anyone happens to get the same thing? by the way, here is the tracking info

Speaking from past experience, if your package is on that 3pm flight then it'll get to MEMPHIS tonight and go to the local sort by 5 am and out for delivery for most locales tomorrow. Good news to see it's going in such rapid progress now.

Mine cleared the custom at 11:50 am, 5 min after yours. Still no "departure" from AK, but I hope they have another flight to SFO today... :rolleyes:

The final destination is just north of Chicago, if it's out for delivery tomorrow I just may jump up and down screaming... But I'm not expecting it before wednesday at the absolute soonest. Thanks for your input though, I'll update whenever FedEx does.
