So I've got mine and I must admit I'm a tiny bit disappointed with the battery life... Maybe I just watched too many YouTube videos expecting a day and a half or two days.... Anyone else surprised?
I was happy with it. Roughly 2x my 2019 MBA. You have to look at it in relative terms because what you see depends on your usage.

I bought a Mac Air with the m1 new last week with the 256GB ssd. Just got a refurb with 512GB for almost the same price today. Looks and runs like new. The migration tool did a great job. Except for having to enter passwords here and there it was flawless.

I tell you, I'm glad I gave the MacBook a try. I haven't been this impressed with a computer in a long time!

The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is Calendly. According to what I've read, I'm supposed to generate a password in Itunes for the app. I can't find that anywhere. Common YT, work your magic Edit: Got it!! :)

Bought a brand new base model MacBook Air from the official Apple page on Amazon for £899. Had seen it as low as £850 building up to the purchase. Best Mac I've owned since I switched in 2007. Lightning fast, especially compared to the maxed out 2016 MacBook Pro Retina it was replacing. I love this Mac. 💖

Just ordered my new M1 Air with 16GB memory to replace my ancient Mid-2014 MBP. Weird that when ordering 16GB of memory it takes longer to ship since it's a "built to order" machine. Everything is soldered to the motherboard right? What is there to "build to order" LOL. Anyway I hope it will arrive somewhere in the next 2 weeks :)

Depending on your config and where you live... it might be available in a store. There are a lot of 16gb/1tb models in stores in my area (Boston).

On the Apple Refurbished site, they have them available right now. Two days from ship to your door in the US and you can get 16GB memory and a 1 TB drive if you want.
They come in a "brand new" box and say refurbished in fine print on the front.

So what are you going to do when the new Airs come out here in a few weeks? New as in 2022? I think they're supposed to be released this month sometime.

I would be really surprised if new Airs are released this year. From everything I've been reading this year it's iphone 13, apple watch 7 and two Macbook Pros 14 & 16".

I couldn't care less. My MBA was cheap, and practically outperforms my 2020 iMac that was about 3x as expensive. It does everything I need it to do with ease and I haven't regretted buying it for a second!

Pulled the trigger. Ordered a refurb 2020 MacBook Air 8/8 16gb memory and 2TB SSD. Couldn’t pass up on the savings. This will replace my 2012 Retina 15 MacBook Pro 16gb, 256gb ssd. Looking forward to the battery life and portability vs the 15”.

Crazy to imagine that this thing has 8 cores and blows my current rig away with no fan. Lol.

Just made my final order - refurbed 16GB/1TB M1... Should arrive tomorrow when I'll return the 8gb/1tb. I just think I needed the futureproof piece of mind of the extra 8gb.

I wish i kept my M1, but unfortunately i had to go with 2019 MBA (..at least i'm not gonna loose Retina..) Futureproof is what i wanted, but taking away my Commodore/Amiga stuff is just too important. Also, web based versiojns are too limited for my use case.

Just came from Best Buy and got my M1 Rose Gold MBA with 512gb 8gb ram. I traded in a few things since I wasn't really using them nor did I need them. Traded in my S21, 2017 MBP 128gb, 2017 iPad and Samsung Tab A7 for 855. Probably could've got more if I had sold everything but I only had to pay $175 total (open box). Not bad to be honest. Haven't actually bought myself a new MacBook in a few years. Last MacBook I bought was a 2015 15' MacBook Pro (gf bought me the 2017 one).

Just picked up a base M1 Air in Gold from Best Buy as a replacement for my departed 16" MBP. So far I'm in love with this little computer and cannot believe how fast it is even compared to my Pro. Everything is very responsive and I love the size as the Pro was too big and expensive for me to comfortably carry around and not worry about dropping it or something else happening to it. Even better is I got another $150 off today when Best Buy dropped the price so I made out pretty well.

Compared to my Pro the only noticeable downgrade is the speaker quality but I figured as much and for something this thin and small they are pretty damn good (especially compared to the X1 Carbon's I looked at). I'll keep this one until Apple releases the new Air next year which I'm looking forward to (especially if they offer a green one!).

Just got a MBA 8/512 from Apple Refurbished. Now I see the news of new MBP/ MBA update for Monday, so I am waiting for the event to finish before I open the box! Anyone else waiting for it?

I’m considering waiting. :) Mine comes tomorrow. But then it could be good to open it and play with it to see if we like it before seeing later and greater shiny toys.

Okay, couldn't wait. Opened it! And it sure is fun. :)

Did you open yours? Or have you hidden it from yourself like Christmas presents stashed in the back of the closet?

Yesterday I picked up a 16gb/1tb 8-core MacBook Air M1 in SG. I am definitely interested to see if they refresh the MBA, but in the meantime I am extremely impressed with this thing! I sold my 16” MBP that was loaded. The 16” drove me insane when the fans would start spinning even doing basic tasks. The Air is definitely better than I anticipated!

Haha I have restrained myself from opening it. Kept it far away, will open tomorrow. I bet this will be fun and enough for me, maybe I’ll open right after the event. I got a 8/512 for like 900 - don’t think any new product can match that 😅

I'm with you. The new shiny they show us will probably be awesome, but I was thinking, I can get this MBA for about half or a third of what that will cost. Plus I love my no fan Air.

Good luck tomorrow and hope you enjoy whatever you decide!
