Now I have been looking on nearly all of these tracking records posted in here, but in none of them it had an "Arrival Scan" in Shanghai WTF?

They shipped it yesterday, but when are it going to leave Shanghai!? Did it do the same when you were waiting for your MBA?

It seems like on the last few post, people are getting their MBA from China. Where did you guys ordered it that it has to come form China? Oh, BTW, I don't know if this apply to your guys order from China. But I ordered an iPhone 4 metal case from China and they said that they are still celebrating their new year and won't be shipped till like the 15th of February. I was like, WTF? Do Chinese people really party the whole month for new year? Especially since they seems like they are hard workers, right. LOL

Here's an update for my MBA:

Ordered my 13" MBA w/ upgraded RAM on Sunday night! I've never been so impatient in my life. I got an email on Monday morning (at like...3am, haha) from Apple recognizing my order but haven't heard anything since. The wait is killing me! I dropped the extra 14 bucks for expedited shipping so if all goes as planned it should be here by the 15th...but here's to hoping it'll be here sooner than that!

Just got mine. 48 gb free memory, that kinda hurts. :(

I'm running monolingual now, to help clear up some more space.
And I'm also stream lining which apps to keep and which ones I can do without.

Will be on the look out for price drops on flash memory.

woohoo! picked up a baseline 11 inch Air. very happy with it and no regrets. really surprised as the speedyness of this machine. even with 2gb ram it flys. Its so quiet too. Ive been trying to get the fan to ramp up and it still soo quiet. i have a feeling if they keep the 11 inch line i will be upgrading every season with em i really enjoy this machine

I am curious about the 11 inch screen. It doesnt act like a mirror like my macbook pro. I dont know maybe i dont notice it as much with the silver frame around the screen instead of glossy black. I was going to buy an antiglare film like what I have on my ipad but I dont know. I may not need it. Only a few days can tell I guess.

The MBA screen is NOTHING like the MBP. Its gorgeous. I had a MBP and couldn't go back to it having used the MBA (the screen alone is worth getting!)

I love the screen on my MBP 17, the colors just pop. The MBA is ok, it doesn't suck. But it's not that great either.

Long time reader, first time poster.

Just received my refurb base mba 13. I was a little worried about getting refurb but it came in perfect condition. Coming from a mbp 13, I love the air's screen, speed and lightness. I travel a good bit so every ounce helps. Shipping was very fast.

I was going to get a new ultimate 13, but I decided to save the extra money and put it towards a next gen imac. The base version is fast enough for what I need to do on a laptop anyway. I might regret not having 256ssd or 4gb ram sometime down the road but I don't yet.

I had my reservations about the silver bezel around the screen when I saw it in the store, but after using my air for a few hours I realized i didn't even give it any thought. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. If I had to nitpick, the keyboard is a little stiff atm. The keys are lower than they are on the mbp, but I haven't seen anyone else complain about this so hopefully they'll loosen up after a few days use.

My favorite new piece of software is bettertouchtool. Seriously, this makes apple's fantastic trackpad ten times better. Volume+track control, switching tabs and window resizing all by simple gestures. Huge time saver.

Apple MacbookAir Sucks

I will share a personal experience with the readers. I was deeply anguished at the service support of Apple, which takes about one month to repair Macbook Air laptop It stopped working once the battery drained and never came up again. Apple's authorized service centre claims that logic board need to be replaced I am being made to wait for another 2-3 weeks whereas its already 4 weeks now. The Customer relation has offered me a alternative to this by replacing it to lower model 1.83 GHz Macbook Air without Backlight keyboard, whereas if i opt for this then i need the like-vs-like means 2.13 Ghz only. Why should i take lower speed when Apple is at fault and not able to repair it in time. I own many Apple products, and I expect better treatment by Apple to its customers.

An article to read about stupid, dissapointing apple service:
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/07_43/b4055070.htm

I would strongly recommend not to buy Macbook Air...solely because of their service support and lack of customers concerns.

I agree with The Samurai (Very good Youtube videos btw ;)) the screen is indeed very nice and sharp. My MBA is still waiting to leave Shanghai, but I have been playing with the 13" in the Apple Store alot of times now for me it's going to be like the switch from the iPhone 3GS screen to the iPhone 4 Retina display... I can't wait for mine to arrive. :D

Ordered my mba 13 inch 1.8 ghz w/ 2gigs of ram. I would have gone with the 4 gigs, but J&R electronics plus macmall charges tax since I live in Cali. So plus the 100 for the 4 gig, that would be another 100 (well actually 170). I decided to settle for the base model, but from the reviews it still seems like a cool champ. Plan to use this to take the place of my mbp that got the black screen of death (dead nvidia chip, 07 mbp). Will be here tomorrow, can't wait.

Sold of my MacBook Pro 13" (2010) model on Ebay for more than I paid for it - only paid $AU 1,399 and I upgraded the ram to 8GB. Link: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220730587128&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT

Now, when I had my MacBook Pro I also installed my Corsair X-128 SSD and the system went from off to on (non standby) and full boot up with everything in just on 3 seconds - I was simply amazed. After selling my MacBook Pro I ordered the MacBook Air 13" / 1.81GHZ / 4GB RAM / 128GB SSD, but am deeply concerned that the boot up speed of the MacBook Air wont match my MacBook Pro 13" which is based on the same family CPU.

If the MacBook Air takes longer to boot with less on it than my MacBook pro, this would indicate the SSD controller is slower than my Corsair X-128 drive, and if this is the case I may regret my purchase. Now im wishing I went for the faster MacBook Air with 2.1Ghz CPU 256GB SSD, but the $$$$ I dont think is worth it, plus I dont know if I will notice the 1.8GHZ to 2.1 speed difference.

I'll be using the MBA for DVD ripping (via the Superdrive), web browsing, itunes, Office 2011, etc - no gaming or video conversion. Im just worried the MBA wont boot as fast as the MBP and yet it cost me more. Guess Im suffering from buyers remorse, and it hasnt even arrived yet.

I'm looking at picking up the 11.6" Ultimate when my tax check arrives. I'm still wondering if I would notice a 200MHz diffrence in the processor between the 1.4 and the 1.6 models. I would prefer to pick it up in person at an Apple Store, mainly because I'm impatient...

(That and the person that will be receiving my trusty 2006 WhiteBook will be here at the end of the month and I would love to give it to her then...)
