I've gotten pissed at fedex for that in the past. Some of their drivers "pre-deliver" on the computer rather than make the trip.

I figure the same. And of course today is the only day I can be home during delivery hours. I complained and was told they will put in a request to have it [re]delivered today, but no guarantee.

I can't express with words how impressed I am with my new MBA. I promise ya'll waiting, you will not be disappointed. I really don't mind getting rid of the MBP. Once I'm used to 13" instead of 15" it will be perfect.

If you do that, then who gets the shiny new MBA?

At least you're waiting on shipping. I'm waiting on money so I can order it and then wait on shipping...

You're right. It's best that I wait to leave the planet till I actually die from "oldness" :) or when I have to wait for a new Apple product... AAAARRRGGG! I think I will buy Apple stuff in a retail store next time that will both be easier for me and for my familiy. (Who actually tries to kill me in my sleep because I haunt them all day with my crying about my MBA not coming :D)

I also had to wait alot before I ordered it to save up like you do. If I win the lottery I will buy you one, and if I should die of waiting I'll tell my family to send my MBA to you... :)

I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed. I visited an Apple retailer today, and touched the 13" MBA again that was stupid, very stupid. The waiting just got EVEN worse so don't do that. :)

Pretty much my reaction when the tracking status haven't changed for 24 hours: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3NRa4l3s04

I am planning on walking into one of the Retail stores and picking up an 11.6" Ultimate when my tax check shows up. I may need to add a couple of hundred from the checking account, but I can live with that. I've wanted a smaller machine ever since I laid eyes on a 12" TiBook. Too bad everybody seems to be moving away from 'dockable' laptops. The Airs are prime candidates for a decent docking station... I personally think that the Duo line was a brilliant idea and years ahead of it's time. What else do we expect from Apple? :)

I can see you currently have a MacBook like me. I think the upgrade to either the 11.6" in your case or 13.3" in mine will be very noticable just the fact it isn't made of plastic is going to be nice. ;)

:mad:CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP.. I just got my new MBA, not refusrbished. But when I turn it on for the first time to do the set up, there's a big line across the screen (about 2 inches wide). Now I have to send the whole thing back and wait for the replacement.

I agree with The Samurai (Very good Youtube videos btw ;)) the screen is indeed very nice and sharp. My MBA is still waiting to leave Shanghai, but I have been playing with the 13" in the Apple Store alot of times now for me it's going to be like the switch from the iPhone 3GS screen to the iPhone 4 Retina display... I can't wait for mine to arrive. :D

Thanks mate :D

I remember getting my first Mac - I lost count of how many times I went into an Apple store to mess about with it :D

Dockable in the sense that you plug your prepherials (monitor, network, printer, Etc) into the dock and then you simply place the laptop in the dock. The laptop has a special docking connector that plugs into the port and connects everything, and charges the batteries.

Now that said, my 2006 White plastic MacBook still feels sturdier to me than my wife's 2005 Dell Insprion 600m... The difference in weight will also be noticeable. Especially for me as I carry my laptop everywhere...

FEDEX lies. I had overnight saturday delivery and I live in a secure apartment building, so I sat by the door and the phone waiting for a call to let them in...all morning Saturday. I was told they would call if they couldn't get in the window. I was sent an email saying they attempted delivery but I was not home, which was a complete lie. I sat in my chair, with no tv or any sounds in the apartment, just reading a book and waiting. The truck did not even pull up out front. I am convinced the drivers know the route and do not even attempt if they know the building is secure. Many others have complained about this same problem. So I had to go pick it up at the shipping center.

The MBA is absolutely AWESOME! I am very happy I cancelled my order with Apple and ordered with Macmall and got the overnight delivery. After five days, Apple had not even processed my order. Within 20 hours, Macmall processed, shipped and I picked it up...cheaper too!

Customized MBA 13". Apple promised to ship within 1-3 business days...so naturally, it didn't ship until 11:59pm on the third day. Scheduled to arrive around noon on Valentines Day :)

I just looked at the 11.6" Ultimate on MacMall. For what it would cost for overnight shipping, I might as well just walk into the Apple Store and buy it here. I would get the instant gratification of playing with it now. :D

If you miss it today, call them and tell them to hold it at the depot and then go pick it up...

I'll be sure to do that; thanks for the heads up. I've heard horror stories about the FedEx depot in Queens, but surely the MBA would be worth it.

Edit: The MBA arrived, and it's completely silent. I'm digging it

looks like apple refurbish site is sold out on the model that I wanted. I was going to purchase the 2.13, 4GB, 256gb ssd. But they don't have that available on the refurb site anymore.

Also I checked the MacMall and realized that the place wasn't for me. I'm located in Cali and they charge the hefty californian tax.
Someone mention they got a free ipod with macmall? how did they do that? any way of getting the discount from this page (http://www.appleinsider.com/mac_price_guide/) stacked with ebates?

I'm glad to hear that. The hardest thing for me would be if it showed up while I was at work (or just before work) and I had to wait until I got home to start setting it up.
