NOOOOOOOOOO why me?!?! They came and didn't even ring the doorbell. Jerks. I called and they said to go pick up between 5-9 or I will have to wait for delivery again tomorrow.

Teach them a lesson for not ringing your doorbell, wait until tomorrow and have them deliver it to you again. If you see them and they still don't ring your doorbell, have them deliver it again, don't acknowledge them until you hear that ding dong. Don't you get like 3 deliveries before you have to go and pick up. That'll teach 'em.

well you see, I really can't wait another day. So I'm gonna go up there and get it myself.

Who are the couriers?! Its not HDN is it? Home delivery network?!
hope not!

Add me to the list. :D

I ordered a 24", 3.06 GHz, with an ATI 4850.

It should ship April 20th and be here the 24th.

Keypad is use-less for most of the people, and is they'd done that because of money, the KB with numpad would cost more

I'd agree that the keypad probably isn't too useful for most people (I rarely use it), but I really like having the page up/down keys and the arrows in a bit more ergonomic position... the new keyboard loses those as well.

Well Patience has it's Virtue, So I keep telling myself

How long will my order take?
We estimate your order to be shipped 20 Apr, 2009.
We estimate your order will be delivered to your shipping address
on or before 27 Apr, 2009.

:(

YIKES! Hey. Isn't it early March right now? Are they having elves assemble your unit in the highlands of China? Talk about a wait. I'd be bummed too.

I ordered an iMac last evening and it says it should be here by Thursday.

Question though, it gets couriered by Purolator. When I put in the tracking number from Apple, all it says is to call them at their 1-888 number. Has anyone seen this before?

I am in Canada, btw.

My thoughts too, not impressed. Dont have much of a choice but to wait.

Was told that if i went for the nvidia graphics card, i would have in a few days.

Think the ATI grahics card will be worth the wait

UGH!
Just my luck...
I've been patiently waiting all day for my iMac to come.
I had to leave for tops of 20 minutes to pick up my wife for lunch. I joked to her that this is exactly when FedEx would attempt to deliver.

Sure enough, I get home to "Sorry we missed you!"

Grrr

Sorry, just had to rant!

If it was safe to have them leave it on your porch or with a neighbor Apple supplied me a web address for a signature sheet for Fedex to leave the package.

Im waiting delivery of 24" Imac
2.93GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
4GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRAM-2X2GB
NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 120 256MB
640GB SERIAL ATA DRIVE
APPLE WIRELESS MIGHTY MOUSE-Z
WL KYBD & USER'S GUIDE-B
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 24-GBR
Apple Care
HP PHOTOSMART C4580
Mini Display port - DVI

9 Days to go:)

Prepared for Shipment

3 days after I ordered the 24" 2.93ghz with the ATI card I changed my mind. New specs:

PROCESSOR 065-7994 2.93GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO
MEMORY 065-8042 4GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRAM-2X2GB
GRAPHICS 065-8044 NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 130 512MB
HARD DRIVE 065-8048 1.0TB SERIAL ATA DRIVE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am worried ATI might be slow updating drivers for the mac. Because NVIDIA's drivers are written by Apple I fell I may get better customer service if their is a problem down the road. Also the NVIDIA card might run cooler (quieter). This sounds like a better deal since it will be sitting in my bedroom next to my bed.

As of now I am using a three year old toshiba laptop as my main computer. Anything will be a step up.

How do you know the ATI's 4850 will have heat issues if we still haven't tested it? If you check the characteristics of the 4850 at www.notebookcheck.net you will probably see that it has even a lower power consumption of 45-65W, probably 45-50W, than the GT130 (60W).

Considering the fact that ATI uses a lot of power-saving features and is very efficient, we can conclude it will run cooler and quieter... At least, I hope it will...

I said "the NVIDIA might run cooler" I have no clue. Honestly I wanted the best possible customer service. So I changed my order and went with the NVIDIA since it is what comes standard with most of the Macs I am looking at.

I am not saying the ATI wont be worth the wait. But for what I will be doing with this computer the NVIDIA 130 should be plenty.

This gonne be my first Mac, a little concerned about the post about the possible issues with ATI Graphics card drivers. The fact that their not written by Apple where as the NVIDIA ones are.

Is this just speculation or does anyone else think the that there maybe possible issue with ATI drivers

ATI drivers are usually better because they are written by ATI. They know more about their products than Apple does.

Its just speculation. And this is from the person who posted about possible issues with ATI drivers. I was told in another forum that Apple writes the NVIDIA drivers. Thats what I am going on. That doesn't mean ATI will have problems. It just means NVIDIA drivers may come out quicker and better then ATI drivers. But again I don't know.

I ordered an airport extreme, a year subscription to MobileMe, and applecare along with my iMac. I see today that they shipped my MobileMe and airport extreme but listed my applecare as "complete." Do they actually ship you anything when you buy applecare, or will they just wait and send it with my imac?

They shipped me a box with AppleCare in it. I won't get my iMac for another month.

I did the same thing !!! I think it's the biggest deal of all !!! First, you've got a decent processor and better graphic card than the 9400m (check the bechmark). Same outfit...same warranty..same new smell ;) MUCH cheaper !!! FASTER SHIPPING !!!!

Yep, did the exact same thing myself;) Wasn't fast enough to get it on the online store, but I'm lucky enough to work close enough to an Apple store that I rang them up, and they still had the old stock as well as the new stuff. So, went straight in and got it on the thursday last week. With the OEM version of Windows XP at Amazon for around £75, I've now got it working on Boot Camp too, and it's more than fast enough for the Windows games that I'll be running on it (Rome:Total War, Alias, Nightfire, etc). So now, my only decision to make is do I have it downstairs in the living room or upstairs in the study!

Bottom line, I'm glad I waited for the refresh, but not for the reason of getting the new machines. There's no way I could justify the higher pricing. Instead, I've got a damn nice iMac that suits my needs at a more reasonable price...
