I don't know if had anything to do with my company or not, I don't think so. The rep was really nice and he emailed my receipt to me and I saw Applecare Protection Plan $0.00. I thought it was a mistake so I called them back and they said everything was correct. I guess I got lucky but it's happened before. Sometimes Apple will do that depending on the rep you deal with over the phone.

Went all out and got the 24 inch, 3.06ghz, 8gb RAM and ATI graphics card. Part of me said I should wait until they come out with a quad core model, but if we all lived by the logic of "just wait, they'll come out with a better one soon enough" then we never would buy, right?
 
Very nice. I just got an email from FedEx saying that my iMac will arrive March 9th. SWEET!
 
One a random note, when I opened my new mac I noticed it smelled great. It smelled like it had been owned by a good smelling individual for like 3 years. Best smelling computer I've ever owned.

I was hoping for quad core but I don't think it will be out anytime soon, and once it does come out you can always sell your current imac and upgrade.

Jesus -- that 8GB ram was pricey, I eventually want to upgrade to that too but I am waiting for third party ram prices to drop. Also looking to get a 2TB HDD to replace the 640GB haha :D

Pull the trigger when you're ready. 3.06GHz is fast enough.

You're going to love leopard and all the cool things it could do. I wonder how well the GT 130 can handle Crysis.

Keep in mind the 4850 isn't suppose to arrive in the next 2 weeks...most people are saying April 18th to 24th to get their 4850
 
I'm starting to become concerned about Apple's attittude. The iMac, while representing a lower end computer in the Mac product line, is still a fairly pricy bit of kit by PC standards. When I saw the new one with the keypad-less keyboard I thought it was a hoax. When was the last time you saw a desktop PC without a keypad?

Apple are starting to make themselves look rather cheap-skate.

Will be so happy in about 5 weeks though!
