Had an email this morning, my 3.06 BTO has been shipped...

TBH the iMac was standard but I ordered the numbered keypad and wireless mouse which added three days to shipping.
It started its journey in the Czech Republic today, just checked and it's currently in Germany!
I'm just impatient and want it now but I shouldn't complain. Friend of a friend works for Apple, got me a discount and saved me a fortune so I went for the top spec.
Im oh so late on this thread. I received my new iMac March 10th . I really like the ability to add up to 8GB within this machine. Still cannot figure out the Super Drives maker. Its not the Matshita like normally placed in the machines.

As I have looked to see how reliable this brand is (Matshita's have outlived some machines that I have owned in the past) Im not sure of the quality.

Gah - getting nervous. FedEx tracking info has read "In transit - Reno, NV" since 9:30am on Tuesday!

Can anyone give me an estimate on how long an iMac at 3.06ghz, 1TB, 4GB RAM, and the ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, would take to ship? I've been hearing some people have gotten it quickly, some a 6 week wait. I was just curious, hopefully ordering mine tomorrow.

anyone whos has ordered the ati graphics card hasnt gotten theirs yet... sooo if u decided to get the upgrade u will be waiting like the rest of us till sometime in the middle to end of april!! i ordered mine on the 4th of march, and am expecting to get it maybe around the 15-20 april.
Yeah, returning it and buying a used MP. A quad shouldn't set me back much more than the iMac would have. :/

My 3.06 arrived this morning. Mac is soooo smooth. Can't believe I waited so long to make the switch.
wow i have been waiting 28days today... hopefully only another 14 to go!!! fingers crossed!!!!!
Argh! Seems almost too long to wait.. I can't stand not being able to open my brand new iMac.

If you order one of the stock models then it ships the next day? Assuming it is in stock at your local distribution depot.
If you change anything, i.e. you want a numeric keyboard or wireless mouse or any hardware change then it becomes a BTO (Built To Order) and you get a "ships in 3 days" message but it doesn't come from your local distribution depot but from elsewhere (China, Eastern Europe?) and it is three days before it ships from there. Then there is the transit and getting through customs time to factor in.

I think that's right. I ordered mine from ClubMac (stock), 24", 2.66GHz, 4gb ram, geforce9400m. I ordered it Sunday night, March 29, it arrived Tuesday at 2pm, march 31. How much faster could you ask for? I ordered it UPS ground shipping too. I guess if you customize it you have to wait a lot longer :-/
Not really, I ordered my on 3rd of March and it shipped on 6th. It wasn't moving for 2 days because it was weekend. Delivered on 12th I think. Quite fast still...
