I might have an answer why they are late. My 3rd replacement shipped yesterday but it shipped from China instead of Czech Republic (my original iMac and 1st replacement shipped from there). This is just my thinking but if all European orders were transferred to China instead of CZ it could be the answer. Too many orders in one factory

Yeugh... I hate the whole system...

I ordered my new iMac - 24" 2.66GHz - today, only to find that it is estimated for delivery in nearly a month from now. No customisation, apart from the apple remote... I suppose just a huge demand... It just so happens that the day defined for delivery by my confirmation email is the only day when I'm unable to accept the delivery... That'd be right...

So, at this point, I hate the whole system... Same sort of thing happened with many iPods I've bought... If there was an Apple store within a million miles, I might go there...

Anyway, sorry about my mini rant, but I am looking forward to my new mac too much...:apple:

Once the order is marked as "shipped" on the Apple site, is there any way of tracking its progress? I don't remember anything in the confirmation email that indicated you could (it's at home rather than work).

This is for the UK.

Is there any stores near which sells Macs? There must be if you don't live middle of nowhere

Once it says shipped, it means it's left China. When it's in the UK, it takes a little while to be handed to the courier (TNT), then the order status gets updated with the tracking details.

Mine took about a week from order to delivery.

In order status click "Track this shipment" from right corner. It should tell you the carrier

china?

Are u serious with China, the apple guy told me that the are produced close to praha.
I mean, no wonder, that it takes 10 days for shipping

Some of 'em, yes. My first 2 were shipped from China but 3rd replacement comes from China

You mean your first 2 were shipped from Czech I think. :D

Yea, sorry I messed.

Hmm, none of the order status pages have that link. Possibly doesn't appear until later in the process.

It's all a bit smoke and mirrors this isn't it?

For me that appeared immidetaly after it shipped. There's carrier tracking number which you put to carrier's web site

You only get a tracking number once it's actually on its way to you. Apple are a bit cheeky and say it's been shipped when its on its way from China to the UK.

Ho Hum. Anyway the delivery dates are 10 - 14th but given that it's the Easter weekend, I reckon closer to the 14th. Which is good as I just so happen to have booked the Tuesday off work!

to follow up on my earlier post

i'm super excited to announce that my refurb 2.8 24" imac got here a day earlier and even thou the box was damaged the imac was in flawless condition..

2 awesome things thou.. the fear that i had about the 2gb ram, i thought it was gonna come with 2 (1)gb sticks, instead it came with 1 (2)gb ram stick so my other 2gb ram stick worked great!!

And the most impressive thing was that instead of the 350gb hdd i was suppose to get i got my imac with a 750gb hdd.. i was so freaking shocked.. i couldn't stop smiling..

i'm just customizing everything right now and i couldn't be happier.. the screen is HUGE thou. :D

well... ugh.. i'm sooooo sad... i was playing Fable enjoying the smoothness of the game on my mac and during a movie i realized that there was a dot on the screen..

aaaaaaaaaahhh  i got a dead pixel!!!! it's not such a huge deal because i know that apple will take care of it.. but the fact that i got a 750gb hdd instead of a 320gb one is what is killing me..

I hope that i get lucky again with my replacement.. i'm so sad.. i had just got done doing all the custom work on my new imac... oh well i did a back up so it's gonna be a piece of cake to get it back to how i like it when the new one comes in.. i'm still sad thou :(

what's the usual replacement time with macs?? has anyone been thru the process??

Same as others. If it's stock/refurb model it ships in 24 hours but it won't have faster delivery. I've done that twice, last time yesterday.

Screw Apple Supplier

hey mateys,

I'm really pissed by apple. My iMac is prepared for shipment since last Thursday and nothing happens. Tw blokes told me that it SHOULD ship yesterday, but it didn't. What's the matter with my order?
I only wanna have this iMac.
