Just received a pretty big software update, over 200mb.

Will report on any major differences.

Great. I hope they improve the performance and those little instances where there still is lag.

Take care of that and the G3 would be my instant choice between all the new flagships.

Is it more smoother now?

I got this V10h update on the 19th, and it is indeed much more smooth and responsive, as this was my biggest concern before the update.

Seems like a bit less lag actually, yes. To be honest, there's only lag with LG's launcher, everything else is super smooth (Nova, GEL etc).

Knock On/Code seems better now too, I think.

This is the second major OTA software upgrade from LG themselves, so they seem to be taking the G3 very seriously.

Excellent, havent gotten the update on my Verizon G3, but these are really the only issues Im having (Knock on/code occasionally not working, lag with LG launcher).

Still, this phone is excellent. No overheating issues to speak of, screen is gorgeous (I think you really can tell the difference from 1080p), the design gets better each time I look at it.

Yeah and it's funny watching all these new phones in the IFA, I'm actually not jealous at all and increasingly happy with my G3!

Going to be hard knocking off the G3 from its top spot as my daily driver.

They could bring those others on as competition but already the new X has left me underwhelmed. I'd rather use the original.

Yep.

One thing that is really being brought home to me - the amazing bezels on the G3.

Something truly special.

True, the thin bezels are one of the main reasons I bought this awesome phone
This is why I never considered the M8, even the fact, it is a great phone, also I don't like that Samsung is making the bezels bigger on their new phones than it's predecessor (S5, Note 4).
Sometimes I just double tap my G3 for no reason just do see the thin bezels, which gives me a inner smile..

Lol I find myself double tapping everything now and not understand why it doesn't work (iPad, other people's phones, dogs).

I don't mind a bit of a bezel if it is waterproof, though - e.g. the S5.

One things for sure the new iPhone 6+ has nothing on the G3 except for big bezels! :) I'm still loving my trim G3!

Here is a rough sketch I made of the iPhone 6+ dimensions compared to my G3.

I picked up a G3 last week. I was very interested in the 5.5 inch iPhone, and was ready to return my G3 if I liked what I saw. The post above is the main reason I think I'm keeping the G3. I can't pull off carrying that 6 plus. They need to figure out he to reduce the bezel size a little. In addition, the 64gb 6 Plus is $270 more than my 32gb G3, to which I can add 32gb of storage. The 6 plus is not $270 better than the G3.

Agree...
Those bezels are ridiculous and plain ugly.
They should get a patent for them (iBezels).

Oftentimes I take off my case just to look at the G3s bezels....

Its like staring at nothing but screen.

This is where Apple needs to make changes. I love Apple, but when their 5.5 i"Phone" is bigger than 5.7 inch phablets, and far larger than the G3, usability starts to become a problem.

Some Apple folks that wouldn't dream of holding something as large as the Note to their ear to talk will still get the Plus.. :)

Lines forming in NYC already. I'll keep my G3, takes LG. :)

Anyone with experience with both the G3 and the SGS5 can comment on which camera takes better pictures and videos (4K mainly)?

I know the G3 has OIS+ and laser autofocus, but do the pictures and videos look better overall than the ones from the SGS5?

I have both phones and can assure you the G3 takes way better photos. I have done many comparisons and even in a fixed position on a fixed subject the G3 takes nicer shots than the S5. I don't get it seeing as how the S5 has 3 more mpx but yeah, the G3 camera is just purely stunning. Crystal clear shots every time and even in total darkness with no flash the subject comes out decent. S5 and iphone 5s show nothing but darkness.

Wow! Add to the fact the G3 has a removable battery, SD slot, Remote Control IR Blaster, Higher resolution screen, 3gb ram, Knock Knock, 32gb memory and a larger 13mpx camera all for $579 and you have a winner.

Wider screen is also a plus. iPhone 6 plus screen is pretty narrow compared to the competition.

Nice to have the winner. Waiting these new smartphones out just turns it more and more concession. All hail the G3!

Here's a nice image comparing the size of iPhone 6, Galaxy Note 4, Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and LG G3 (in correct scale to each other):

I ordered a iPhone 6 today, but I need to get to the store and play with the G3 for awhile before it shows up.

I had the G3 from AT&T, but I returned it because I wasn't sure about LG's launcher and I also bought it not knowing about the PMA stuff.. I use QI with my Nexus 5.

I'm happy with my Nexus 5, but I want a last gen device. I'm looking into the Korean G3 with 2 batteries and Snapdragon 805. Does anybody know where to buy it, and what is a reasonable price?

Also, are there any alternatives to LG's "rom"? Some features are cool, but I prefer stock android from Google.

Thanks
