Wider screen is also a plus. iPhone 6 plus screen is pretty narrow compared to the competition.
The iPhone screen is not 16:9?
How do you get a 16:9 screen at 5.5" and make it narrower?

I know, my opinion about it still stands.
Opinionated math and geometry?
I'm wondering if I made a mistake grabbing the iPhone 6 128GB.
I was really really happy when I moved to jailbroken iOS 6.1.2 on iPhone 5 from Android, and was really frustrated when I moved to jailbroken iOS 7 a few months ago.
Since then, I've removed a lot of my jailbreak tweaks (primarily Intelliscreen) and the phone seems to be quite a bit smoother.
I was attracted to Apple because of the smoothness and refinement. iOS 7 seemed to be a step back, but I think iOS 8 will address a lot of that.
I've always liked the functionality of the Android OS better but have always been frustrated with its lack of refinement. The iPhone 5 on jailbroken iOS 6.1.2 was the first phone I didn't complain about since my pre-Facebook Blackberry Pearl.
I HATE lag and animation stutters. I'd probably get a Nexus 5 on Verizon if available, but I get nervous on skinned devices. It also seems when manufacturers get ahead of Android (qHD), problems follow.
I know Cyanogenmod is on the way for the G3, and I thought of grabbing a G2 to load Cyanogenmod and try it, but every time I played with ROMs, there always seemed to be something that didn't work and eventual performance degradation.
I haven't looked at the LG G3 super closely, maybe I should. I do know that I prefer the iPhone 5 screen over any Samsung (hate AMOLED 'grain') and the HTC One (I can see the digitizer). I heard the G3 screen was a bit dim and chews battery pretty good, but I doubt it lasts much less than iPhones.
Running Nova Launcher isn't enough, you can never seem to get away from skinned elements.
I dunno.
I experienced ZERO lag/stutter on my iPhone 5 running JB 6.1.2. iOS7 lags more than I'd like and I'm really hoping iOS 8 on the iPhone 6 will be better. To be honest, sorry but lag on phones will still be a problem for you in 2016. Search your feelings!

Having said that, I get frustrated after using a Samsung phone for more than 15 seconds because the notification shade almost always lags/stutters when pulling down. Almost always.
The Nexus 5 seems to do alright.
The lag & stutter really detracts from the experience and really turns me off. It just makes the device feel like garbage. The hardware is capable, its the skins that are 90% of the problem, which is why I want AOSP ROMs from the manufacturers or for Google to produce quality phones on every network.
If Google pushed a high end smartphone to every network, they would sell. I thought that's why they bought Motorola. (But even that worried me as I despise AMOLED).
After their big software update, apparently the S5 absolutely flies now, no lag - MRU on this board posted a couple of videos.
Tbh sounds like you'll get frustrated with most Android phones so just pick up an iPhone 6, sure that will do you well.
I heard this exact same statement with the S4. I'll probably never buy another Samsung, junk. After their big software update, apparently the S5 absolutely flies now, no lag - MRU on this board posted a couple of videos
Have any of you owned the G3 and the M8? If so how does the reception compare on those phones? I just went from the G2 to the M8 and the M8 isn't quite as good, so I'm considering returning it and getting the G3.
I still own both. The G3 reception is better across the board in my area(DC).
nope.....nope....nope....never....never....never......had.....had.....had.....that.....that.....issue.....issue.....Anyone else have people complaining about hearing an echo when on speakerphone?
Just bought the G3 today. It works fine, i can't notice any lag after the latest software update. Cellular reception is solid at home where i often lose the signal with other phones. Overall pretty happy with it.
I have to say I love my G3 more and more each day. I was curious about the iPhone 6 Plus, but after seeing one in person the G3 is a much better design. So trim and compact for the big screen. Now with a thread talking about an iPhone 6 Plus bending in someone's pocket I know I made the right choice with the G3. I can't wait to see what LG is going to do with the G4 because they have a great base to build upon.
So I finally just got to check out the iPhone 6 - not the Plus, the regular 4.7" - and compared it sizewise to my LG G3.
Wow. The G3 has skewed my expectations of form factor completely.
The iP6 felt like it was only about half a centimetre shorter/narrower than the G3.
Really, the size difference was so marginal, I was very confused. But it only packs a 4.7" screen. To make matters worse, I checked out the Alpha and that was really impressive size wise.
Starting to think Apple dropped the ball with the form factor, and lord knows how gigantic the iPhone 6 Plus must feel.
Length wise yes.Android Authority did a comparison video of the 6+ and Note 3 not so long ago. The 6+ is generally bigger than the Note 3.

Yeah but forget that, the 4.7" iPhone 6 and the G3 are literally only half a centimetre different, really strange.
Obviously the iPhone has Touch ID in the Home Button but that top bezel really adds to the size, don't like it much.
I hope Apple will do some changes with the iPhone 7.
