Ok well after a full day of regular use from my HTC One X I am pleased to report that my battery is at 65%.

So yep, pretty confident I'm going to be alright with this phone battery wise :)

Thank you for your posts about your HTC One X.

I am actually more interested in the HTC One and look forward to your comments on it.

:)

Reading reviews on the One is making me lean towards getting one instead of the GS4, but I feel like I will feel the same way once the GS4 comes out haha

Great impressions and pics about the HTC One. Keep em coming! Getting more and more impressed with this phone. Might have to give it some serious consideration.

I hope more people give this phone consideration. Like I've said here and in other threads - we need more OEMs to jump into the Apple/Samsung stranglehold. HTC is poised to make a move (albeit a relatively small one).

Yeap seems about the same experience others have tell me, HTC did it right !

MRU, how is the charging time? My i5 was stupid fast to charge but my S3 takes a good while to charge. Have you payed any attention to this and if so what are the results?

Definetly the iPhone 5 charges faster. I could go from empty to full in abount an hour on the iPhone 5. Yesterday when I did my first full charge from around 15% it took around 2.5 hours....

So yeah it definetly takes longer. I have read that charging time gets better once its done a full cycle a couple of times and battery conditioning kicks in, but even if it does I don't think it will come close to beating the iPhone 5 in charging time ...

I put mine on charge when In bed so its not too much of a hassle if it takes longer personally, but for those in a hurry who want a full quick charge it could be I guess.

How is blinkfeed? I hope that I can tinker it to the likes of my iphone notifications:
La liga
Nhl
MLB
Uefa
Ap wire
Calendar

Is that doable? I really don't want entertainment news on my feed, just important news and sports. Live scores would be ideal, like hitting the power button and see the score of a favorite team and what inning, count, etc

You don't have to have entertainment news. I don't have it on mine.

You can specify sports and US sports, though you can't choose individual categories like just UEFA, MLB etc.

How about some things you don't like? Things you wish HTC did or didn't do?

Actually as above, they need more sources to Blinkfeed and it should allow you to choose the ratio of content so you can limit how many Facebook or Twitter posts are displayed.

Also we need apps to start using Blinkfeed (there is a section for them and the api is available to developers) so it can really fulfil its potential. At the moment its nice but very limited. (Calendar and TV app)

Other small things.

Also the capacitive buttons are quite small and the recognition area is therefore quite small so a couple of times I've missed the home button double tap.

Music widget 4x4 has gone and only a 1x4 widget available.

If you orefer stock look and are Using Nova Prime (its very smooth) but if you do none of HTC's widgets work (specifically clock & weather, music control widget).

Nothing major bugs me so far however.

Ehh screw it just pre-ordered the developer edition. Have the $100 trade-in offer from them, so $550 total is not bad at all. Can't wait!

The 64GB dev edition is up for pre-order, might just pull the trigger.

I'm this close to pulling the trigger too.

My last day with the iPhone 5 (30 day return policy) is April 12th. I could use a dumbphone until the HTC One arrives April 20th-ish, and from that point on, I have 14 days to test it out. I can get a full refund (no restocking fee!) within 14 days.

That should bring me right up to the S4 launch and let me decide with both devices in hand...

... my finger is on the trigger...!

Maybe this will help you, if you have a junk smartphone at home that you no longer user. $100 back for your HTC One, I'm going to send in an old BB Curve I have lying around.

What's the Promo Code that I'm supposed to use?
No promo code for the actual pre-order. After you register with the website I posted they'll send you an email with more info.

You will get a registration code with your email as well as a link to a website to continue your mail-in process/rebate. So you will need to mail in your smartphone and proof of purchase for the HTC One. And after that they will send you a rebate card worth $100.

What do you guys think the website means by "14 day return policy from date of activation"?

What if it's unlocked? What does "activation" mean? The day you receive the device? The day it ships (April 18th) or the day you start using your carrier SIM?

EDIT: From HTC themselves:

"Referring to the refund of 14 days from activation day, this is referring as to when you insert your sim card to your phone, and your phone is active working and using the network of the carrier you choose, the 14 days will start form that moment."

Won't apply, since you're buying off-contract. That should only apply to contract phones, since you are able to purchase/pre-order the HTC One via HTC for other carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint).

Yeah, I apparently have no self control when it comes to shiny new tech and just pulled the trigger myself. Looks like my Note 2 (and maybe my iPhone 5) may be up for sale shortly. ;)

Come on couch, do it, do it...you know you want to..:D

Seriously though, based on your well documented preferences, it sounds like the S4 may be the best fit for you.

So, from which day do I count the 14 days from? The day it's shipped, or the day I receive the device?

The timing is super important to me.
