Glad that we have these though. I was super bummed earlier, now I'm pretty excited it's working. Gonna try and brighten up and play with it a little more. Any other tips or advice things that you've found that you liked/didn't like? Apps, etc? I just have the bare minimum. Facebook, twitter, pandora, watch espn... etc.

Mine's pretty basic. I did a lot of playing around on my Nexus 4 (vanilla android lends itself to more customization) but I actually like Sense so I've largely left it alone.

I've got my lockscreen option on Productivity (which I'm sure is the most popular).

I've also got power toggles in my notification bar.

Do you think I will be able to tell the difference in size from the iPhone 4s to the HTC One? I know the HTC One is 4.7" and S4 is 5"

From a 4S yes, heck even from a iPhone 5 there is a sizeable difference in screen size.

:) Honestly if HTC has done anything more than anything else it's prove that Apple should release a 4.7" iPhone.

Yep my lock screen is set to productivity. I prefer setting extended in the notification bar. It actually looks like part of sense .

And only widgets I have are google search bar and calendar.

My app drawer is set to custom and I have main apps on first screen and then a flick down and all the other things arranged in folders.

I love the One - but I still think 4.3" - 4.5" is the sweet spot....

Yeah that .2" is a killer :p

Couch you will be delighted. I just found this option in the gallery, I don't know whether its part of the latest update but you can now choose which photos appear in your albums and YES you can remove FACEBOOK !!! :) Not as disgusting eh ;-)

Where exactly?

Click on gallery

Click on my photos so that top corner says albums click on menu button, click show/hide albums Then untick the ones you don't want in your album.

If its not there on your phone it must be something to do with the new update.

It only removes them from My Photos section it seems....

Found it! Thanks.....

Though I don't think it'll appease Couch, as when you go back to the Gallery view, Facebook friends still litter the screen :p

Yeah I just noticed after pressing back :D But hey it at least means they can do it, now we just have to hope they allow us to do it in all parts of the gallery :)

Not a huge deal to me :)

I'm looking forward to the improvement in the camera software and the removal of the menu button.

Other than that, this phone is awesome!

A few other questions before going to purchase my ONE tonight....

This will be my first Android based OS phone. So I was wondering:

1. Will the OS be updated to JB 4.2.? (Whatever S4 is on) from 4.1
2. Who is responsible for releasing OS updates?
3. Will I be able to download the same apps that any other Android OS can?
4. Can you download apps from other source other than Google Store?

Thanks!

1. Yes

3. Yes
4. Yes, I believe so

Just curious. When you load up the gallery option, it brings up My Photos, Friends, and a bunch of facebook photo's in what looks like blinkfeed? Is there anyway to disable this??

Just click on the "My photos" and it takes you into an albums view (then click the menu like MRU said and you can pick what's shown).

Just don't go back or force quit the app and it will always start at that albums page :D

I am reading online that the AT&T 64GB can only be purchased online. Has anyone else had a different experience? I was hoping to go to my AT&T store tonight and purchase.

3. Yes
4. Yes, I believe so

Ill go a little deeper into it.

1. Yes, but not sure when unless there is new news about it
2. jwizzle nailed it, but it usually is a slow 4+ month process
3. Not all apps. For example, dash clock widget must be 4.2.2 or greater
4. Yes, but do not know much about it.

Just a random question. Does anyone else find it really hard to use the dang wake/lock button? I mean I'm only successfully hitting it maybe 30% of the time. The other 70% I'm hitting the volume rocker accidentally.

Pains...

While you will get 4.2 the time frame is still up in the air. Now it seems you are new to android, so things works a bit differently on android then ios. Because HTC does not run stock android they have to get the update from Google then make it work on their skinned version of android, and then it goes to the carrier to be approved. It is not until your carrier releases the update that you get it. That being said HTC might say they are going to release it in June, but it will still have to go to each carrier to be approved before you can download it. At&t seems to be one of the slower carriers to release android updates to phones, so if you are on At&t be prepared to wait.

At this point they would be better off just waiting for Google to have their I/O this month, and release Key Lime Pie. It will most likely never happen, but they will be a version behind after they release 4.2.
