And if the Moto X features specs anywhere close to these 2 phones, this will be a very interesting year and future for Android devices.Amazing. Samsung must not be very happy about this. Lol.

32GB Nexus experience HTC One, and it looks like Verizon and Sprint users are SOL.
Different price points. Different screen sizes. Plastic glass or metal. Physical or on screen or capacitive buttons. Whatever you want. All stock all updated by google.
Let me guess, US only right?
i know everyone assumes this, but has there actually been confirmation that updates will be released by google? now that the one is getting a nexus variant, and possibly as other hardware manufacturers join in the nexus experience movement, it makes less sense for google to be in charge of software releases for all these phones, especially when they have to consider their own nexus line. i think the responsibility will be left to the manufacturer, and my faith in their ability to give timely updates isn't great.
further, the wording in what's very little out there promises "prompt" updates. what exactly does "prompt" mean? within a day? a week? a month? it reminds me of google's broken promise of the android update alliance. i'm hopeful i'm just being paranoid, but i'm still somewhat skeptical.
On normal days I'm getting nearly 3 days battery life on my one...
Ok these are just making calls, listen to music, calendar, blinkfeed, notes kind of days but still great battery.

Screen on time?
Why does everyone neglect to mention screen on time? I feel like it's the biggest factor when you want to talk about battery life because it's what uses up most of the charge.
It wouldn't be a huge amount tbh.
I'd say probably only maybe 30-40 mins in 24 hours. Screens in enough time to play/select music, check emails, update ny calendar and notes, send a couple of texts, post reply via taptalk HD, quick blinkfeed check of news and Twitter.
Google now is on, power save is off. GPS is on, bluetooth is on...
1 email set to push, 2 others set to15 minute check.
But still excellent all told. My iPhone 5 would get 36 hours on lighter use but this is getting good 24 hours more than that.
Did you use your S4 long enough to judge how good it's battery life was?
If I'm not mistaken google themselves said at Google i/o that they'd be the ones updating the s4 Google edition.
I get a solid day with somewhat heavy use since i've been playing with it nonstop. With brightness between 50-60% and enjoying that boom stereo.

is there a way to see screen on time? do i need to download an app for that?
Yeah your screen on time is a lot more than minebut I think if any smartphone can last a full day on heavy usage that's good news.
Do you not leave your brightness on Auto? I've never taken it off auto on my one.![]()
The Verge said:HTC also provided another interesting tidbit: it's currently "examining the best way to support early adopters of the One" that may prefer the stock Android experience over Sense, perhaps by way of an AOSP ROM. The company isn't providing specifics on that front just yet. Still, if you're a One owner feeling burned by today's announcement, there may be hope.
Very interesting........
TheVerge said:Of course, the big question with running stock on the One is how HTC's unique hardware features will work without its software, and it sounds like there's good news: Barra told me Beats Audio will still work — the hardware optimization is active all the time, but it won't put an icon in the menu bar. HTC's UltraPixel camera module is still present, but it's being made to work with the stock Android camera app — Barra said it'll just "do what it does," adding that more details would be forthcoming as Google and HTC work on the software.
i think you're mistaken, but feel free to prove me otherwise.

What's your screen on time?
I took mine off the charger around 10am and I'm under 20% right now.
