Anyone experiencing high heat just above the function key rows? I'll play a youtube video or google cast something and it'll get really really hot. Not sure if that's normal, but I feel like it shouldn't be getting that hot.

I've got the base model nTB

The Cpu is top left of the chassis iirc so experiencing heat at the or above the Function keys is to be expected under load (same on my device). Wouldnt call it hot though.

me lovey the no touchy

this machine has kept growing on me, I swear I think .2 improved battery more too (not that it was bad)

While charging i get static electricity thought the metal casing around keyboard area.... i remember that my old MBAir did the same the first months i purchased it but then it stopped... any solution?

What kind of program are you using to read your temps?

Does anyone regret getting the touchbar one? I know several devs that really miss the ESC key. And for those who like working in low to no light environments, I would imagine the Touch Bar would drive them crazy. I'm approved for a new laptop at work, and have to pick one...leaning no touch bar...

I first went nTB and then became interested in the TB and I'm now using the nTB again. The TB is pure gimmick. Touch ID was good but not widely implemented system or app wide. I just have a shorter password too make up for the lack of Touch ID on the nTB.

Battery is far better and the physical F keys are just better. I would go nTB with possibly more memory/SSD. It's a great machine. There are so many people with glitches with the TB, it often just froze and the whole system would need to be restarted.

Hi, has anyone tried using Davinci Resolve on this machine? I was wondering how Intel Iris graphics handles color grading at 1080p 30fps.

I originally got the touch bar one and then sent it back (didn't open it or anything). Typing from my new nTB 16GB/512GB now, only had it 2 days. I am sooooo happy I sent the TB one back. I use the escape key/F keys more than I thought (I use the play/pause buttons a lot whilst in other apps) and the more traditional look- touch bar looks gimmicky to me and feel like it would be distracting more than productive! Plus I very rarely look down at the keyboard. Not to mention the battery life issues with the TB!

Go for the nTB :)

Off topic, but I actually am pleasantly surprised by the keyboard, it's so nice and clicky. Yes it could be a little quieter but generally I prefer typing on it.

Guys. It's here. I opened it and took the Macbook out and wow. It's a piece of beauty. I put it back in because it's so pretty I didn't wanna get my prints all over it!! I'm glad i just ordered a case for it because definitely don't want this thing getting scratched.

I have the 2016 ntb and love it.
I probably will get the touchbar on. the next release , but I am hearing a lot of people did not think much of it.
I think the next release touchbar will be much better .
may I suggest this case : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N1PMW11/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I tried a few on amazon and so far this one is the best of the lot-much better fit and look than the others I tried.
