Samsung's s9 is like a mirror. the reflection is terrible. Screen brightness is not even as bright as the new m4. Deepsix truly has eye problems

I was looking to purchase one before the new ipads came out. The new ipads kept getting delayed so i was seriously tempted to get the samsung. But once the new m4 came out, the difference in quality was obvious. Only thing useful is the expandable storage.

I hardly notice any reflections on mine. S9U is 930 nits. M4 ipad is 1000 nits, less than 10% more. Can barely tell any difference when side by side. But if I put the S9U next to my M1 ipad Pro then yes I notice a difference. The S9U has other advantages in other areas. I don't find the screen on the M4 ipad to be any better and definitely not for much more money. But for me the S9U provides great value. I don't have eye problems, I see better than 20/20.

Imagine having to rely on Samsung support for all that gear, nightmare.
Why is that? I don't own anything from Samsung but the company I work at provides tablets for our customers for our mobile apps. We offer either Samsung tablets or iPads and sell probably 10 to 1 Samsung vs Apple due to the price. I can tell you that at least in the enterprise space, Samsung provides an order of magnitude better support than Apple does. Perhaps it is because we buy tens of thousands of tablets at a time and get their A game but Apple is a royal pain in the a$$ to work with.

Still you are here, given your obvious disapproval of the iPad.

If I was disapproval of the ipad, then I wouldn't have bought one. It's the new ones that I see no value in and that's why I didn't buy one. These price hikes every generation are just unjustified and I refuse to be fleeced by Apple.

And how many disapproving additional posts will you make on this, especially since it’s really just an opinion piece? You’re starting to sound like a phone shop sales guy that desperately needs to pitch a Sammy where it likely won’t stick, just because.

I checked it out in the store and it did not pop in the way I thought it would but that's probably down to the intense store lighting.

What I did notice and really appreciate though is the completely eliminated motion blur due to basically 0 response times.

Not something I'd upgrade for if I already had MiniLED but it's of course objectively better.

S9U is 930 peak! vs 1600 peak, the M4 is brighter full screen all day long compared to the S9U at least get your facts right!

640 nits at 75% of the screen full.

The Tab S9 Ultra’s display gets decently bright, especially when displaying HDR content. With adaptive brightness off, the display averaged 328 nits of brightness. Flipping adaptive brightness on bumps that to 592 nits of brightness. The tablet’s screen got as high as 834 nits of brightness when displaying HDR content on 10% of the display and 878 nits of brightness for 40% of the screen (765 nits for 100%).
Absolutely no where near as good as the M4.

From your same article:
This generation of tablets introduces Vision Booster, which improves the text and photos, and other content, under bright light. It boosts the screen brightness and uses contrast improvements, and it can offer up to 1,750nits of peak brightness.

Trust me, it doesn't in a dark room either compared to my 2018 Pro and MiniLED Pro. The OLED is...lackluster to say the least.

there’s another thread talking about how yellow the OLEDs are. Is that everyone’s experiencve here that loves the screen?

I just refuse to fall into the hype for a sub-par product that's already been around for several years by other manufacturers. There is a reason why the Best Buy reps told me that the ipads aren't selling very well. Because people like me are standing up for themselves by not opening their wallets to Apple this time.

For instance I was checking the Best Buy site yesterday as the new Surface Pro 11 just came out on June 18. My local Best buys already sold out of their Surface Pros in both their entry line and OLED line within 2 days since release. And the Surface Pros are priced just like ipads are. Except the Surface Pros provide value and that my friend is why people are buying them with confidence.

Apple is going to release a quad OLED next year that goes up to 2500 nits for $2000USD and everyone is going to go bananas for it, because the blacks on that are going to be even deeper, so get ready to upgrade again.

Nothing wrong with voicing your opinion but, to purposefully make numerous negative posts in thread after thread about a product you don't even own, is wearing really thin with many members. Is what you have been doing worth alienating yourself with members? Something to consider.

Imagine you go online and spend time talking about stuff you don’t want to own. Oh wow. Don’t like it, well, this is a place predominantly for people who DO LIKE the product.

Agreed it's really weird and creepy, he must have a very very boring life with nothing else going on and coming on here and bashing the new iPads gives him the will to live ha ha

Cut him some slack, between his Tim’s runs for his ice caps and babbling to Best Buy staff members he just doesn’t have much else going on. Must be a pretty boring life.
