So it looks like there is some movement out there... I am only 2 hrs from Memphis, so I am hopeful for (dare I say it?) Friday delivery.

I tend to agree. We're coming up on 24 hrs so my iPad would be in the Atlantic by now. Look at the bright side, least we don't have to deal with Hong Kong time anymore. If the damn thing would just update we'd all be happy. At least I know my iPad has such good company on the flight over.

I think that they made it to the States either in the middle of the night or early this morning.

Idk...There are a few posts of people ipads arriving in Alaska and Memphis and them receiving it the very next day. Although I won't hold my breath for it only because our FedEx estimated delivery date is Monday.

Is Friday your estimated FedEx delivery date?

Oh...ok.

Well I just got off the phone with FedEx and I told them that I was just inquiring about my package because the status had not updated in over several hours. She told me that the particular plane takes packages in bulk...hence our ipads. She (very polite woman) said that the plane left last night and I should be receiving my package either tomorrow or Monday. She then asked me if I wanted to hold my package for pickup and I said ...HECK YEAH!! The only reason being is because the FedEx station is literally 2 blocks from my house :D

I figure that if it comes to the FedEx station later tomorrow or misses the truck, I can just go pick it up.

It could be because my status actually states: May 12, 2010 11:32PM In transit LANTAU ISLAND HK and it been like that since about 1032 CST. So all in all, it's been on that status for over 24 hours now. I can't imagine with the ipads being this popular and such high demand, they wouldn't at least ship them to the states last night. I'm waiting to check my status again later today and see that my ipad has left either Anchorage or Memphis :rolleyes: and on its way to Indianapolis or to my local hub / facility...If that happened it'll be sweeeeeeet!
 
I just called FedEx, and while it doesn't show on my computer she said it left Hong Kong at 9:55PM on May 13 (there time). I asked her about Friday, and she said if it clears customs in time then we'll definitely see them tomorrow. The May 17th was just a bulk delivery date from the distribution center in China.

All according to FedEx :)

Well their a day ahead of us so if it left then which be last night for them. I'm definitely hoping we get them tomorrow.

All I got out of fedex was that it left Hong Kong and the woman claims it hasn't landed in the states. Maybe I just got a lazy employee?
 
Got mine a day early. I love fedex :D
Yesterday it said it was on it's way to Memphis, this morning it shows up at my door. Not bad :)

Did you get yours a day earlier than your estimated FedEx date or the Apple estimated delivery date?
 
Anyone else have this happen?

I ordered mine on the morning of May 4, with an original estimated shipping date of May 12-18. I got the shipping notice, yesterday and it was listed as "In transit" last night and then, 12 hours later, it went back to being "Picked up" in China! As a result, FedEx moved my shipping date to May 19. I was just wondering if anyone else's order had done the same thing and if it, in fact, affected the shipping date. Apple's email said it would be delivered by the 17th.

Both.
Apple estimated the 15th.
Fedex estimated the 14th.

I got it today, the 13th at 10am :)

Same exact time ordered as you, same exact messages received, same exact status as you. Having been though this 'custom order' with Apple/HP/Dell with manufacturing done in China, I can tell you that while FedEx may say the 19th now (Weds), it will most likely be in our hands Monday, provided there is no holdup with releasing the shipment from customs after it lands.

Finally shipped after being stuck in Prepared for the last 48 Hours.

Order was placed May 3rd. Estimated Delivery Dates of May 11th-15th.

FedEx says it will be here on the 18th.:mad:
