The "Ships: By May 7th" information thread

...this is all driving me crazy...2 days ago delivery would be the 6th...few hrs later it was back to 7th..thats ok..this AM my IPAD is on a local FedEx facitlty about 10 mins from where i live and i asked Fedex if theres a chance im getting it today and they said NO..its being sorted and i would it get Friday the 7th...checked status again after an hour cuz i dont trust Fedex at all....well well IPAD is on its way for delivery......im now patiently waiting for the Fedex guy....:D

No problem on the insult my exwife insults me all the time and i take it mostly with a grain of salt.

What the sad part is in this, you and i are doing Apples Job since APPLE refuses to do theirs. They shipped it, and wont fix the mess and just pass the blame off. You and i didn't call UPS to pick the package up and deliver it, Apple did and did not give us a choice on how it was shipped.

And complaints to ups will end us as "apples shipping premiums will be refunded to apple" and nothing else.
And Apple wont say sorry or even gee thanks for getting apples money back for them.

Just curious did you try to call apple on this and see if they would do anything?

Before i reply how is your new Ipad? do you like it? Dont worry bragging, it wont hurt my feelings.

Actually yes they did, they spent 5 minutes trying to tell me that calling UPS to find a package interrupts the shipment.
They did how ever back down a little on that when i told them that i work for a company that ships tons of parts world wide every day by fedex and ups.. And i also told them i not a idiot, i graduated in the top 10 at the university and not a back woodsman in the state of nh

They were still convinced that it is all my fault and refuse to help

I should have recorded these conversations and done a youtube of it lol

But anyhow,, i am smiling since this whole mess with apple 2 people at work have canceled their orders, and 1 is not going to order at all. Even though apple could care less of loosing 3 sales,, it is still bad business for them.

I did call apple this morning and the person said that according to their records it's scheduled for delivery today. They claimed the USP tracking is probable not up to date :rolleyes: I then called UPS and they transferred me to their international department and the lady their said it's scheduled for delivery on Thursday the 6th. Well it did not arrive today with our UPS delivery here at work so we’ll see if it's delivered tomorrow. I am concerned that it still shows no sign of movement out of Hong Kong :confused:

That is the same problem i have, Apple tells you what their original date was not the actual. They refuse to actually look at the real status or care to.

UPS is also not really upfront, when i asked the guy in our traffic dept (they handle all shipping and receiving) who has acess to the shipping routes UPS uses he said if it doesn't leave HK by 11 am eastern time it won't be here the following day.

and also International shipments will be updated faster than domestic due to customs tracking.

Thing is Apple doesn't care. And won't look or address the shipping issues. this after all isn't a big News event show, the ipad went public early april, so they could care less about who gets what when. No media coverage, no support

I do share your pain.. but mine is going back to apple the day i get which now looks like monday or tuseday of next week
 
Not alone

I'm in the same situation as many other people it seems. The last tracking info I have is: CHEK LAP KOK, HK 05/03/2010 9:57 P.M. THE AIRLINE OFF-LOADED PACKAGES.

I called UPS and was told that it was scheduled to be delivered today and is on time. When I mentioned that it still said it was in Hong Kong I was told that it must be an error and I should receive my package by 10:30AM today. I was told that around 11:30 AM. I brought that up and was told to call back tomorrow.

This is just such a frustrating situation. I'm not bothered by the wait. I'm bothered by the fact that I don't know when it is going to come(if ever). The lack of updating tracking info is very disappointing.

sigh.
 
I agree, Apple tried to tell me UPS tracking system is not correct (hog wash). Now if it was being shipped USPS I understand (their tracking sucks) but this is UPS. Mine is a birthday gift for my wife and do not need it until the 23rd but, like you, it's frustrating not knowing why it's still sitting in HK. I know very well it's not showing up here at work tomorrow. :rolleyes:
 
okay this is a riot.. Apple just emailed me

Gee wait a minute it was supposed be here 5/3 and it is still in hong kong... And 5/4 was yesterday..
This is probably one of those generic emails they send when you complain


I know some of you think i am bitter on the fact i don't have my new toy.
What i am bitter about is Apple lies .. I only care about an honest answer. And they have no honesty nor caring at all for customers.

And if you think otherwise. I ordered a custom made guitar, UPS lost it. I waited 6 weeks for it to be made. I said oh bummer. I called the place that made the guitar. They told me they would get back to me shortly after they called UPS. with in 1 hour i got a call back that my guitar was accidentally put on a plane to florida,, and it would be here a day late and they were very sorry for UPS's screw up

I said fine and thanks. it didnt bother me my 1800 dollar custom made guitar got lost as long as i had an honest answer from the vendor

See i only care about honesty. and Apple obviously doesn't have any, and that is why i will never own another apple product, and the will get this one back.

just would love to know what happen and why are some of our orders sitting in HK for days. Like you said Chris please just give us and honest answer.

Well we can all have a drink and laugh someday about this..But lack of honesty, no matter how big the company is like wall streets attitude ,, that consumers dont deserve protection

Fill out form Tell them you arent happy and they will probably send you an automated email like they did me. put your order number in the subject box.
in the main give them a polite complaint. include the shipping problem

let us know if you get the same automated reply i did, however you wont see it for almost exactly 24 hours from hitting the submit key

I am sorry i have to be humorous on this but, but i have to laugh at my own stupidity for thinking apple care meant apple cared

None of this load/unload BS for my shipment. Ordered on April 26th says May 7 delivery.

wait a minute,, i paid for apple care, and you are getting the same dishonesty and aggrevation as i am for 100 bucks less?

i have seen posts that show 24 to 48 hours.
mine went from preprared to ship on a friday to shipped on saturday night. But it was actually shipped from China 6 hours before the status went to shipped. but it is still in HK since the saturday they changed the status. Hope they sent it Fedex

Anchorage, Alaska woooooh hoooo! I bought mine on 4/23. They must be on the same plane.

Same exact tracking to the minute. May 7th delivery.
 
I ordered mine on the 28 of April. It has been in prepared to ship for 2 days now. I hope it ships out tonight. 16gb Wifi

Sounds like a lot of us will be having some fun on Friday.... Good to have the shipment in the states - at this point, not a lot to get in the way of the expected delivery date.
 
I just received the "prepared for shipment" a few hours ago. So hopefully I receive the iPad sometime on Monday or Tuesday.
