I actually went with the base storage this year. I have a 128gb XR and still have 90gb available. I've over bought storage every single year and I never come close to filling it.

That's the beauty of iCloud, there's no need to get anything but the base storage.
Exactly, and I pay extra for iCloud storage for all my photos etc and just leave it all in there. Now for my iPads etc I do go bigger as I tend to keep all my apps/games on that, not so much on my iPhone though!
I was really unaware of this. My iphone 7 already had 80GB of data used so felt the need to upgrade to iphone X 256GB but when i transferred everything over all my pics went to my icloud. That's the beauty of iCloud, there's no need to get anything but the base storage.
Surely you can't be serious? A $999 with only 64GB of storage in 2019 is a joke.I’m glad they stuck with 64GB as the entry level storage.
Keeps the base price down for those that don’t need all that storage while allowing those who need more storage to upgrade as necessary.

No one complained last year.Such a stupid option for the price
It's actually remarkable how many people buy 64GB because everything is now cloud based. If you have the data for it, your music, videos and photos are streamed from the cloud. I don't have unlimited data so I need the storage, but if I had unlimited data...64GB would be more than enough for me. Save photos and videos to iCloud and deleted them from the phone. Stream music via Google Play Music.
Those who want 128GB are forced to pay for 256GB of space whether they need it or not.Surely if the base price going up to maintain the profit margin on the extra storage space means people who don't need the extra space end up paying for it whether they like it or not?
Went with 64GB again. My XS 64GB is at less than 50% capacity. Photos/videos go to Google Photos and the on-device copies are deleted, I use GPM for music so aside from a couple hundred songs downloaded everything else is streamed and I don’t have any large games taking up space.
It's not that it's not needed. It's just a greedy move by Apple. All other smartphones start at 128GB Base storage, even 256GB now, and yet Apple's supposed "Pro" phone starting with 64GB base storage at $1.200? It's just ridiculous.

2 years later and i havent even used 64GB of my 256 iphone X.
So i have opted for the pro max 64gb

Do you enjoy micromanaging the data on your smartphone, constantly moving data to make space? Is it like a game?
64 is plenty for me but to be honest the PRO models should start at 128GB AT LEAST
Apple stop with your greediness or your customer will eventually leave you.

That's exactly what would have happened if they chose to start at 128 GB or 256 GB with the same price. Nothing is free. I don't see why people are complaining about having the option to buy less. This reminds me of Android fanboys who think if you don't buy what they want you're wrong. I'm sorry but if enough users only need 64 GB then Apple will offer it to them. The whole why don't they offer 16 GB argument is faulty because no one or perhaps very few would be able to use it. I know so many people who have 64 GB on their iPhone and aren't anywhere close to the limit. Once time changes where these people need more then Apple will remove the 64 GB option.I actually didn’t personally but it’s still shifty
I’d take 128 over a fast charger included in box since I have like four or five already (Walmart cleared out the 29w for $7 at a point in time when the 30w came
Out, took advantage of it)
No they won't, they are trapped in the apple ecosystem. Zero evidence people will leave.
The whole trapped in the ecosystem is silly. Most iPhone users don't have an ecosystem other than iCloud backup and a few apps they purchased. I could go to a Note 10+ and would have absolutely no issues. It's an awesome phone and would do everything my XS Max would do (sorry Apple fanboysIt's not that they're trapped there's currently no viable alternative.
