The order doesn’t have a tracking number attached to it. The status still says “Preorder,” but when I log into my UPS account.. there’s a tracking number, but no information is provided.
maybe this could be the beginning of some movement!

Lol, you are not alone… I just wish there was some sort of movement and i at least knew it was on its way. I mean, they still haven’t even hit my CC - just says pre-ordered.

If it doesn’t ship tomorrow… I won’t bother to check for any movements, whether it be my CC or emails. Part of me just wanna cancel the order and wait for in store stock.

I've been tempted to cancel the order from Best Buy and just going to my local Apple store tomorrow very early to see if I can snag one that way.

Got an email that my order had shipped, after a burst of excitement and a couple of joy laps around the house, came back and looked at the email again… new ipad keyboard has shipped… oh the darkness is setting in, and i scared my dog and cats for nothing… the shame..
Did you order everything separately?

I’m going to try Best Buy regardless… because I have gift cards to use. But I think Best Buy is hoarding stock to ship them from stores…. That’s the only reason I see why there’s no movement yet. Because in most cases.. retailers get stock early. That way it gets to their customers on release date.

I was just able to check my order status and it says that it will ship by Monday, 5/24. There was also a note stating that pre-ordered items will be available on or after release date, 5/21.
Apple's order page does the same - they say delivery on 5/24 but UPS says 5/21.

I believe UPS tracking is correct.

UPS tracking for overnight shipping may show up late tonight so keep checking!

I'm the one that works at bestbuy and confirm we have NOT gotten any ipads or imacs in stock, we have gotten a few Apple TVs. From our DM he said BB will be doing what they do for the consoles and ipads will be online only or ship to store.

Not saying your wrong, but why announce preorders to ship to customers when they are going to be shipped to the store. Best Buy would of been better off not doing preorders at all… and only give out stock that’s available in stores.

I didn't order from bestbuy but watching these bb threads and the uncertainty of preorders and their dreadful return policy is more than enough for me not to deal with this company from now on.

Dreadful return policy??? Do tell.

I’ve bought lots of products from BB over the years thanks to their interest free financing. It’s very convenient.

BB and other retailers have an allotment of products for release dates. The only issue is they stink at staying in contact with people who have to have the item on the very day it releases. I can see how that’s frustrating.

FWIW, I spoke to a BB rep yesterday that said my order had a ship date of the 20th and it would be sent over night for delivery on the 21st. No idea if that’s really what is happening but it’s what I was told.
Well, that’s good to know. So, I’m guessing its a good thing that Best Buy doesn’t have any stock in stores per @Surfer13134. Perhaps, it’s in a warehouse distribution facility awaiting to be shipped overnight.

I meant for in store pick up. So when BB gets stock and you can order you will have the option to ship to your home or ship it to the store to do a in store pick up. Some do this so they don't have to worry about porch pirates taking their packages.

BB has always been doing this and it makes out lives hell because customers expect to get their items on launch day and what happenes is they will go back ordered.

Exactly I think we have one of the best return policies. Most things have no restocking fees including computers. We have customers that go through 5 to 8 computers until they find the one they like.

I have 45 days to return items since I'm an elite plus member. I love their return policy. :)

Yeah, that makes sense. I’m just trying to understand why there’s no progress on preorders.

I’m curious about restocking fees on unlocked cellular iPads… is there a restocking fee on that? I understand a restocking fee on smartphones, but none on prepaid smartphone.

i can no longer make any changes to to my order.....the website says they are working on my order.........
Not to throw a wet blanket on this (I am in the same boat with a BB preorder), but that happened with my Airpods Max - and I didn't get them for another three weeks or so. I thought they were getting ready to ship imminently and instead the change links disappeared off my order and a few hours later it went to "backordered."
