Well, that seems pretty straightforward… however, with Best Buy… can’t really guarantee that. Obviously, nothing is guaranteed. As I’ve said previously… all I’m looking to get is some information regarding my order. When you order from Amazon.. there’s indicators to let you know “hey we are working on your order.”

I wish I would have ordered from the Apple Store now. I canceled my original preorder I made minutes into the 04/30 preorder opening up, so I don’t know when I’ll get mine because I placed another order just days ago. It said when I checked out it was waitlisted due to popular demand, so...

I am still holding out hope I get it soon, though. I hope you guys do too.

All quiet on the Amazon front. I'm actually not expecting them to ship until 5/24 Monday.

I might try ordering for Apple Store pickup tomorrow but if that doesn't pan out, I'll just keep my Amazon order. There's like two stores really close to me (Glendale Galleria and The Americana). Hopefully, at least one of them has the config I want.

Hmm. I dunno. Amazon has 30-day return period so that gives me a longer trial period. I really want this upgrade but it looks like there's some PWM with Mini-LED (though not as bad the 12 Mini). If it does trigger my migraines, I might just downsize to the 11".

My Best Buy order explicitly said “Get it by 5/21”

Obviously that’s not happening as my order still shows no movement and is in “preorder” status.

While I’d like it at launch my plan is to see if apple has in store pickup tomorrow and if I can grab one that way I will and then I’ll cancel my BB order. Otherwise, I’ll just play the waiting game with BB and see when it actually ships.

More than anything I’m pretty disappointed in how there is a major lack of communication from BestBuy. As a long time customer of their stores and online presence, I’ve never had issues until just recently when they started shipping out of retail stores and then this current situation. I wonder what happened and if there was a leadership change and that team is not as efficient as the prior?

Was supposed to have a Friday delivery too but haven't heard anything. Still possible though if there's just a delay in the communication. Worst case probably ships Monday and arrives Tuesday. I don't normally buy a release day Apple product from them, but I forgot to order from Apple til pre-orders had slipped into July. Managed to get a supposed Day 1 from BB. Will take a Tuesday delivery over July. But will also check my local store in the AM because Friday > Tuesday. I gave my mother my 2018 Pro for Mother's Day and am missing my iPad pretty seriously.

Yeah, I think they’ll ship on Monday with us getting them Tuesday. Seems to make the most sense. It sucks, but at least we’ll have them soon.

I was just able to change mine for in store pickup for today (12.9 Silver 256GB). Only one store near me had that option though, the rest were anywhere from 3-10 days out.

I’ve just succeeded snatching up in-store pickup for this morning at the nearest BB. Super glad it worked out! But will definitely try Apple store pickup as well bc I wanna take advantage of education pricing+some leftover gift card balance

Unfortunately the two closest Best Buy’s only had Space Gray models and I preordered the Silver, so I can’t just opt for store pick-up instead. This sucks. If I knew I could cancel and get a refund in time to get store pick up, I would, but I don’t want to screw myself over even more. There’s only 1 Space Gray in my storage option at each of the 2 Best Buy’s, so I don’t think they’ll last long.

Lol you can’t really tell what it looks like in other stores when you’re not actually in charge of the whole distribution network

Actually we can. I can see exactly what is at my store and other stores and if any are on trucks coming in. When all of the sudden all the stores pop up with exactly "1" unit usually means its a display model that has not been taken out of inventory yet. Not saying this is the case for sure, but this is what it normally looks like.

Actually we can. I can see exactly what is at my store and other stores and if any are on trucks coming in. When all of the sudden all the stores pop up with exactly "1" unit usually means its a display model that has not been taken out of inventory yet. They havent been, There should be a overnight crew redoing the displays as we speak which is why it has the 1 unit. The biggest thing you can tell the inventory is wrong is its been over 4 hours since its been displaying 1 unit in stock and the inventory hasnt been moved to "Out of stock".

It doesn’t say 1 unit anywhere on my end, it says all the stores near me have few stocks available for some configurations and most of 1tb and 2tb’s out of stock

I just ordered - again! - 12.9 SG 1TG wifi only - with an in-store delivery of May 29. One nearby store said 5/27, but it is not a store I frequent.
