No laptop not telling me of updates mate. Just found a load of updates there tonight. Looks a good choice of tripod you got. Have you got it now? how is it?
Back ordered :(

I'll write a bit of a review when I've got it if you like. I only went Gitzo due to the discount I got. Not that 100% Leica discount you get mind!
Laptop problems? I bet its a Dell ;)

I agree in that if my camera falls over on the smaller one I'll wish I'd brought the other! However my concern is I buy the bigger one and leave it in the boot of my car as it's more weight on my bag.
That's what I do with the aluminium one all the time.

I have the aluminum befree and it's awesome. i guess a little heavy but it's solid for sure. B&H puts it on sale all the time for a GREAT price. keep your eye out for those sales.

Nope... Surface Pro. I want to upgrade my Macbook Pro but the thought of £2.5K to do it is putting me off. So trying some cheaper alternatives
Well if you hadn't blown all that cash on cameras!
I have no need for mobile computing so a desktop does me. When my current iMac needs replacing it will be a maxed out mini or a new module Pro that they leaked yesterday.
Price depending of course.

I travel too much with work so a mobile device helps a lot. Though I am thinking an iMac would be fine. The Z1 is faster than the top end iMac though so torn as I already have the Z1.

Out and about though like now as I sit in the rental we are in in Bamburgh, and the surface pro 3 is struggling.

:-(

Well shouldn't you be doing something else other than computing on holiday?

After posting to say my 3 legged thing was good, as I'm getting closer to my NZ trip, I've decided it's too short and far too unstable with the column up, so you've inspired me onwards and upwards to a gitzo @Apple fanboy. Went with GK2545T-82QD. Lucky last one in stock. I shoulda just got it to begin with!

@kenoh i bit the bullet on a new MacBook and no regrets, even though was in same mindset as you with the price tag.

New Gitzo, new MacBook, someone's doing alright!

Seriously sometimes I think spending a bit more saves you money in the end.
Sadly mine is out of stock so no eta as yet.
Let me know how you like using it.

The joys of being self employed. With a few businesses to run expenses through and a good accountant. Gotta balance out the stresses of running them somehow.

Agree on the spending for quality. Mounted the big lens and camera on it, and very sturdy. counting down the days to NZ to break it in out in the field.
