So I thought I had given Apple enough of my money this year and I was wrong! Base MBA ordered for delivery by Thursday! Am a student so this is more than enough for my needs :)

Finally got my dispatch email! UPS has it, it's just departing China.

As for the arrival date the Apple site says 23rd, the email I got says 24th, and the app says 25th... here's to hoping Apple's site is correct. Or even better a couple days earlier so I got a weekend to play around with it.

I just bought a MBP which had a delivery dates of Dec 8-15 (BTO 16GB RAM). Once purchased now the delivery date is December 15 (lol). Any chance it'll come closer to the 8th??

Probably a bit early in the setup process for a clean benchmark but you know how it is.

Geekbench 5 - 1750 Single Core - 7677 Multi-Core:

There is another score in my Geekbench profile that brings tears to my eyes.

A few observations:

- Surprised that macOS was a version behind
- Rosetta is not a bundled app & has to be installed for first use
- Problems launching a few apps (Plex Media Server, UniFi Controller amongst others)
- Apps that do run with Rosetta do so with aplomb

I ordered a MacBook Pro with 512GB/16GB and expected delivery between Nov 24 and Nov 26.
My card has been charged already yesterday at 8:30 pm. But this is Germany.

I'm a bit confused because I expected Apple to start charging the earliest in a week from now

On special builds they have always applied the charge straight away. Saw this on every up spec laptop I have ever ordered.

Just had the 256/16 Air shipped email from Apple and it states delivers on 24th (Moved up from 26th). Strange thing is DHL said it is on its way from Eindhoven to Heathrow already so I cannot imagine it will take a week to get to me. I’m hoping for this week.

It is possible yes. When I first ordered mine it gave a range of 23-25 November. I now have three different sources from Apple telling me it's going to arrive on the 23rd, 24th, or 25th. Seems entirely possible it'll arrive on any of those dates and if I'm really lucky maybe sooner depending on shipping from China. The arrival dates are always estimates so it's always possible you can get lucky.

So I just caved in and ordered a MBA 16Gb 512Gb (8 core GPU) @ £1449. Thought long and hard about settling for 8Gb and picking up tomorrow but figured the additional RAM will give me more scope if I push it over time. Perhaps if benchmarks show very little difference in everyday usage then I might chop it in for the 8Gb.

ETA 8th-15th Dec ... nnggngrrhghhh.

Right, I liked the Mini so much I am going to move my old MBP on, so I've ordered a base MBA as well (AO are doing 3 years interest free credit, it would have been rude not to).

My HomePod Minis are coming this week as well, I might need to sell a kidney.

Does it actually say it's left Eindhoven already? This is the same thing we had with the Apple Watches, the tracking showed them in Eindhoven but that was misleading, it just meant that the waybill had been generated and they arrived in Eindhoven just a day or so before the scheduled delivery date.

I've got the DHL tracking stuff which indicates mine is in Eindhoven but I'm fairly sure it isn't.

DHL tracking page is slightly confusing.
