I went with the Logitech Combo for my 13”.

I use the same case for my current 11”, feel it’s the best of both when it comes to mouse & keyboard when needed, can remove and lay flat when using the pencil.

It does add a bit of heft to the whole setup though, and the keyboard & mouse part of the case is what I’ll use the least.

Looking at the Smart Folio, those adjustable viewing angles intrigue me! Does the rear of the case have 3 different alignment magnets to create those?
Basically the magnets have like 3 different fold levels to have it straight up like a laptop when it's facing you the normal the old one has and a further back option

I had a nightmare with an eSIM from EE in my current iPhone 15 Pro Max. This was my first eSIM. I couldn't take or make calls. Then messages went off. They gave me a new eSIM but that didn't work either. I went to the EE shop about 4 or 5 times before in the end they gave me physical sim. Won't be using eSIM again until they know how to work them properly.
They need hurry up improve that before iPhone 16 launch cos iPad now e-sim only so it might be hinting that iPhone 16 might be e-sim only like USA.

I am on EE too but on PAYG and they don’t even offer 5G on PAYG.

How exactly do you find these eSIM deals? I’ve never done it before, is it a case of taking it out as sim only but never using the mobile number? Or is there a specific iPad/tablet eSIM that you need

Just go to the uswitch website and select Sim Only. Then you can filter it even more if you prefer certain providers. But be careful, not all providers they suggest offer esim.

In the iPad, the sim would just use data. No need for phone.

You can get data only sims too, I can't think of any atm, but I did see a few the other day but they were just as expensive as a "full" sim.

Are people going for wi-fi or cellular? I am unsure if I should try cellular for a few years to save a big upfront cost?
How does it save a cost?

I’d have been tempted to try cellular (now that Virgin Media and O2 have merged, I’ve got an O2 sim that I don’t use because my phone is with 3), but the cellular iPad is an extra £300 and I can’t justify that.

I can’t see a scenario where I’d have the iPad and not my phone, and if for some reason I needed to use the iPad without WiFi I would just use my phone as a hotspot.

Iit arrives today to ill get some photos of it
Please can you test if it has any other upright positions. I suspect not as the photos only show one. The Apple Smart Folio now has extra magnets to enable some different viewing angles. I suspect it will take a little while for the case manufacturers to copy this.

There’s a whole thread that discusses this. Basically unless you use your iPad for work there’s little point in getting cellular.

Do/did you buy your iPad(s) with Cellular or Wi-Fi Only?

Total waste of money if you have an iPhone. Personal hotspot to iPad is seamless.
It depends on usage. If you travel or may not have secure Wi-Fi access then cellular iPad is useful, while if you are mainly home/office iPad user it is a bit of a waste. It is also worth mentioning that running your phone as a hotspot does drain its battery. I’ve owned both types but as I do a lot less travelling these days I’ve gone Wi-Fi only.

Cellular is a game changer to have that always on connection for me, So convenient to just unlock it and away you go
I can certainly see the appeal of that 'always-on' connectivity, getting notifications when you're out and about, and have considered it in the past.
Unfortunately I think the price for a cellular iPad, plus the cost of a SIM plan mean you actually need to 'need' that functionality, it's too much to pay for a 'nice to have' feature imo.
If cellular was £100 more and there were more decent data only sims (tbf I think you can Get a few gigs for a fiver a month) then perhaps. But Apple make tethering so easy you don't even have to get your phone out, maybe in the future.

That’s how I see it too. If I went cellular iPad it would be accompanied by much reduced phone usage, maybe even a return to dumb phone. Otherwise the iPhone is always with me, and the form factor of phones is still far easier to have on you than a tablet is.

Most of the cost is the outlay. I pay £6 a month with EE for 5GB and can just gift myself 30 - 40GB of data off my mobile plan, both my plans still include roaming so it’s fab when on trips abroad
