So whilst we are waiting for 3rd pro cases I’ve picked up an ESR clear acrylic case £11.70 and some paper nano screen protectors £9.99 for pack of 2 from Amazon. I just wanted something as an alternative to having the magic keyboard though it feels weird not having a folio case as I’ve always had these on every iPad I’ve had. Wasn’t prepared to shell out eighty quid for the Apple version. perhaps if theyhad some really cool colour options I might have but I find the current 3 options a little on the boring side. The nano screen protector is really good although just realised I’ve installed it the wrong around and covered the front facing camera :rolleyes::D Wouldn’t have bothered with a screen protector if I’d gotten a folio case but it does to improve the pencil writing experience and I think I will appreciate the anti glare matte finish it gives.

Also decided to be semi ‘sensible’ and not swap out for a cellular model as I think I’ll likely upgrade my iPhone 14PM this autumn and am saving for a couple of holidays.

I wonder if with the acrylic or clear tpu case installed on an iPad, does it still stick to say an ESR magnetic case at all ? Don’t really want the bulk of the hybrid rebound case tbh

I have PRO 13 256gb on ee Business contract £360 plus vat up front, unlimited over 2 years £60 plus vat a month. I’m vat registered so claim vat back.So £360 plus 24 months @ £60 =£1800 over 2 years. Cost new would be £1499 so £301 for 2 years unlimited data.
That's a very good deal!

I’ve been using this one.

ESR Paper-Feel Magnetic Screen Protector

I use my iPad for my work during the day (office job, primary using pencil for meeting notes) and have found this to be the perfect solution.

During the day I get that paper-feel (although I don’t hate pencil on glass, this just feels more natural) then once work is over, I take it off and get to see the display as intended.

So far so good with this product!
When you posted this I decided to order one and I LOVE IT!! .. I had the PaperLike for my old iPad which was great but it definitely makes the viewing experience less than stellar. This Magnetic one is amazing! .. they even have a nice little folder for me to store it in when not in use!! .. After a grand total of 3 hours (!!!!) I’d absolutely recommend it!
Thanks for the heads-up 🙂

I wonder if it will last? Doesn't taking it off all the time damage the protector/ makes it less like to stick to the iPad?

Apparently 100,000 times.

Interesting though. Never see or heard removable and reusable screen protector before.

The marketers will say that, but have they tested it in real conditions where some lint or fingerprints get on the underside of it?

I like the idea of these, but it seems to me there's always that risk of something getting stuck on it, which then scratches the screen when you apply it.

Not for me, I don't think. The paper feel can be obtained with particular nibs, I've heard, which would appeal to me more than taking a protector off and on. I'd rather a protector that is on all the time, or not use one at all.

What screen protector do you use if any?

None. I have never used one on any iPhone or iPad, but my iPad has a case that covers the screen when not in use.

Have you had particularly bad experiences? You've been asking about this since at least last week and seem unmoved to any of the replies from people saying they're not needed for general use.

Yup, that’s the question. I got it as I do a lot of note-taking. I’d already realised I’d need a nice place to store it or it could get horrible and then, on opening, they put a neat folder in there too for storage.
It was half the price of Paperlike which is also a bonus. I paid £13.50 so even if it doesn’t last forever I’ll get another one.
I’ll see how it is in a year 😉

Yep I have
My iPhone cracked after dropping it on the floor as I never used to use a screen protector. Even since applying one, I have dropped my phone many times, but never cracked the screen.

Also, the iPad is going to travel a lot with me in my bag, into lectures etc...so I would prefer to have a screen protector. If the iPad was going to be used primarily at home, I would not bother as I know it would be pretty much safe living in my desk.

How old was that phone? My wife seems to drop her phone all the time and it looks good as new with no protector, iPhone 14.

Mine travels too, but the keyboard case has always been perfectly adequate.

If you’re set on getting a protector then just choose one and be done. I don’t think there’s much need to overcomplicate this decision

I just wanted to know which is the best protector out there that does not affect the screen too much.

Regarding the iPhone, this happened a couple of years ago. Like I said, I have used a screen protecter even since on my iPhones and never had a cracked screen since.

I’ve been using mine every Mon-Fri since arrival and it has been spot on!

The screen protector part doesn’t stick to the screen at all, it’s only the narrow edge at the top and bottom of the horizontal that attach via magnets to the display.

I’m the kind of iPad user that has a micro fibre cloth with me at all times, wiping down after every use. I make sure to wipe down both the screen and display side of the protector before fitting each morning.

I miss the headphone socket from my old iPad Pro 10.5". Now I have iPad with USB-C, an iPhone with Lightning and a collection of adapters. 😬

For those of you who use the magic keyboard with your iPad, do you use a case as well when you want to use the iPad without the keyboard, such as flat on a desk? If no, don't you worry about the lack of protection using the iPad without a case....

I would worry and this is one reason I opted for the Logitech instead (the keyboard detaches but the iPad stays in the case)

How is the Logitech though?
I have heard people say it does not compare to the MKB, and the MKB is a far better writing experience....
