For anybody planning to send into Music Magpie, be sure that your final day for them to receive your phone lands on a weekday. It's calendar days they work to, and not business days.

I sent my phone using Saturday special delivery, which they happily received and signed for, but do not process on Saturdays, so they offered me a lower value on the Monday without the benefit of a value booster code...

As from yesterday, I have an email with shipping reference number for £721 locked in with musicmagpie for my XS Max 256 but still undecided about whether to upgrade. I want to see the what Apple announce at keynote first. Not sure if they will still honour £721 on the 11th following the keynote

Wonder who's gonna be first in the Apple Store queue line....?!!!

I remember going to the Apple Store in Bromley last September, to pick up my shiny iPhone XS, expecting to see massive queues - got there around 8am and outside the store, they had a trailing rope barrier, snaking up and down outside the entrance. There wasn't a single person in the queue!!!!:p

Apple release days are not what they used to be!!

Here, here!

I think for me, peak Apple queue was the iPhone 4. I was at the Birmingham Bullring for 4am and was 13th or 14th in the queue. The two guys in 1st and 2nd had been there since 10pm the night before, but at least it was the summer so it wasn't too bad temperature-wise.

By 8am when the store opened, the queue had reached hundreds and went all the way down New Street to almost the site of the new Apple store. Probably almost 0.5 miles when you include the internal snaking queue once you were inside the shopping centre.

When I got my 6 back in 2014 I reserved online with a scheduled collection time at Highcross, Leicester. I assume they still do the same arrangement these days. If so I’ll reserve and collect in the afternoon after I’ve finished work

Just had this from EE. I think they’re hyped too

The one and only time I’ve done an apple store release was for the iPad 2. Queue at regent st was mahoosive and never got the model I wanted. Bagged one that evening at tesco!

The good news is this is iPhone 11, which is not a major redesign so we all might have a better shot waiting in line this year. For me though, it's all about doing the pre-order to be safe.

Yeah no worried about bagging one this year. Last year was painless and stock plentiful even close to an hour after release iirc.

Roll on the keynote

For me it's more a matter of schedule. I'd love to be able to pick up the device Friday morning before work.

Well I was most likely getting the next iPhone as I do every year, however my husband’s upgrade is due on the 10th of September and he’s not interested in a new phone and told me he wants me to use it. He wants to stay with his note 8 as he’s not interested in phones at all.

Not that I wasn’t going to get the new iPhone anyway as I do every year despite saying I won’t. This year I’ve just resigned myself to it.

Just switched up my SIMO deal ahead of launch. Moving from EE to Vodafone. Little worried about coverage etc but I’ve got 14 days to put it through it’s paces. Offer was too good to pass up. £6 for 20GB via Fonehouse (after cashback by online redemption, which understandably isn’t for everybody).

Have to say getting my PAC via text was SO refreshing after all those calls over the years.

You get 14 days from the quote. That is a good price. Are you going for the 11 Max Pro?

EE will be hyped with the amount they charge my nickname for them is Everything Expensive. I have been a customer since they were Orange but the prices have been insane in recent years.

I'm getting my iphone 12 months interest free on my Argos card this year and then selling it next August and paying the balance. I'm sick of getting ripped off by EE.

Prices are generally high everywhere now...I will carry on with my upgrade anytime deal as I can get 20% off my bill due to my work.

Feel it’s better than worrying about paying a phone off in time

I'm sure it's been answered before but for those of you who went with the iPhone upgrade programme last year (not renewal, I mean new set up) and ordered online, do you order as normal for store collection and then sort out the payments in store, or is there an option online when pre-ordering to tell Apple you'll be doing the upgrade programme when you pick up?

After buying outright every year I think I'll just go with the yearly upgrade this time.

I pre ordered for with I store pickup and on launch day went to my local store at pick up time and told them I wanted to join the IUP.

Wonder what the prices will be like here?
Due to the exchange rate we may see the 256gb 11 pro max go to £1299, and that’s if Apple keep prices same as last year .....
