Since its down to a 3-4 week wait on the Apple store I'm tempted to order there while keep a look out on the reserve and pick up option.

Do Apple take the money right away once I hit the order button or on dispatch, I'm sure its been mentioned but its probably 150 pages ago :D Just dont want a grand coming out of my account in case I manage to get one on Reserve & Pick Up

It’s not the Ryton you found. There’s one close to Coventry airport too. They just need to be slightly more accurate in the tracker with the name.

UK Mail Ryton
Hillman Way, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry CV8 3ED

I’m from the North East, and can confirm that the depots around our area aren’t in Ryton. UK Mail is in team valley trading estate in Gateshead and the others are a bit further east, near the Tyne tunnel.

Yep, my phone was collected from Syncreon in Hinckley (birmingham, midlands), and taken to Ryton (about as far north as you can get).

Tomorrow, they will being it back down south, past birmingham, and to me in Portsmouth.

Total distance, assuming straight line driving 547 miles.

Actual distance between Hinckley and Portsmouth that could have been made 152 miles!

I think UK mail need some clues about directions, and optimising their efficiencies !!!
It's Ryton-on-Dunsmore near Coventry rather than Ryton near Newcastle ;-)

I’m sure for the iPhone 7, when starting up for the first time last year, it ran the iOS update to the latest version before it did the transfer of the data from the latest backup.

This was the backup that I did to iTunes just before...

I don’t know? I received a day 1 phone and it was ok for me to transfer, but this year is different

My guess is that one of three things will happen:
  • The initial batches of extra phones will go to IUP customers to avoid the massive moan-fest that happened last year when lots of people on the IUP didn’t get phones for a good while after launch, so the 13th-20th orders won’t move
  • The production ramp is happening, but won’t be in time to move the 13th-20th orders forward so they won’t move
  • The 13th-20th orders will start to move up over the weekend
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see which!
It’s also possible that the majority of 3/11 orders go through apple.com and then 10/11 it switches to a skew towards 3rd party channels which gives apple less room to bring forward the 13-20 orders.

Based on my 2-3 weeks date in the 7+ JB It was 7 days before it arrive the phone went to PFD. Based on a similar assumption we should see changes this weekend, Sunday hopefully

Not quite right. Having lived in Hinckley I know that Ryton is actually Ryton Upon Dunsmoore and is only about 15 miles from Hinckley. About 10 minutes down the M69.

Yeah. I was kind of hoping that with the shipping estimates for further out dropping (e.g. 5-6 weeks moving to 3-4) we would see our orders moving faster than scheduled. Ah well, not the end of the world if they don’t!

Received a phone call from ee store this afternoon.... my iPhone X ready to collect tomorrow!!!! Was originally by the 10th.. wasn’t expectig this! So happy....

Is someone here going to queue tomorrow in the apple store brent cross?? Was thinking of just buying from apple store and cancel my ee one as monthly contract is too much...

Yeah unlikely the 2-3 week ones will come in any sooner. These are going to be due to ship in the coming days and they won’t be likely to have a sudden abundance of stock in those few days.

But hey, not long to wait and there’s opportunity to try for pick ups and else where in between.

Another Confirmation from Three.

yay! just received my confirmation by 3 of the delivery tomorrow. Oddly, a differently worded email to the previous guy who received confirmation but I don't care really...
