Ugh!

Got my new X, went to restore from a back up via iTunes but am getting the message

Itunes could not restore iphone XXXX because the back up was corrupt or not compatible with the iphone that is being restored.

My old 7 plus was running 11.0.3 and my X is running 11.0.1

It's driving me mad as I really want to get my new phone up and running but can't seem to do so, any help gratefully recieved.

I’m sure you’ve sorted it now, but is because the X is running an older version of iOS than your 7.

Setup the X as a new device, update to iOS 11.1. Then reset and erase the phone and you’ll be able to restore.

Another Argos fail here.

Going to cancel mine and stick with my Apple order. Pathetic from Argos, not too surprised, but horrible communication on their part.

Probably stay away from this thread now, had poor luck this time around despite being initially pleased with Nov 13-20 given all the hype.

Try using Chrome JL website seems to work better in Chrome.

Now my JL has been dispatched there’s no more tracking events to obsessively following until they next tell me it’s ready to collect. I’m hoping they make it to the store earlier than 2pm!

Yeah it was a bit, so it took a little longer than usual. I think I'll take one last ditch effort with a reservation tomorrow morning but beyond that I'll just wait it out for my Apple online order.

UPS let me down today, no delivery till next week sometime. They say Monday, but as they are so unreliable, I'm not banking on that.

I'll see can I find one in a bricks and mortar store tomorrow.

Wow this screen is a revelation compared to my old 6s

Didn’t think I’d notice the screen size difference but it’s night and day.

Mine is a little yellow tho I do have to say.

Will work out if it bothers me or not.

And Face ID is noticeably slower than Touch ID for those who notice millisecond time differences. Prob won’t bother most people.

you can easily correct the yellow tone within Accessibility under colour options and hue and make it colder. its what iv done as i also prefer the cool display

Ahh I see, mine wasnt until this afternoon stock releases so most likely wont see any change for a while (fingers crossed it pans out for me this time haha).

Thanks - and also the other folks who replied, i found the setting, all working now!

Definitely need it on, otherwise there is no way i can use the phone with one hand.

Think i'm quite pleased with my device overall

been in work all afternoon so cant play with it as much as i want sadly.

It’s worth noting that Face ID worked on the app even though it hasn’t been updated for the X.

my Barclays app simply crashes every time you launch it

Had mine since 10am

- FaceId - overwhelming at first, was just weird not using my finger. However iv found it to be very reliable, little slower but I'm talking half a second which doesn't even matter. managed to recognise me during gym workouts and i was impressed as its an area i was worried it wouldn't, overall apple has delivered on their promises to me.

- Display - Stunning, enough said.

- Battery - actually amazing so far, arrived at 70% and is now at 20% and thats been with downloading my stuff and a gym workout on its factory charge


overall im so impressed with it. Apple truly delivered here. My only complaint is the apps, not many updated yet but its something out of Apples control. Hopefully they start a whip round if it becomes a joke

Places an order with JL this morning that went through. Order status hasn't changed to dispatched though like a few others on here - lets hope it all goes through okay!
