Spoke to Apple on Live Chat, once again appreciating their limited information. He gave no clues on the 13-20 Nov dates coming forward, but he did claim that the phones will ship from the UK. If he's correct on both points we may not see movement for a few days yet. I just can't see there being no delivery to the UK for online orders for the next few days though.

Got my X and had a play whilst restoring.... initial observations.....

1. The device is beautiful. I have always used cases,(and likely still will)...... but really don't want to hide this away
2. Face ID seems to work fine though is a bit annoying that it wont seem to work when phone is flat on desk. Anyone figured this out?
3. More apps than I imagined have already been updated with X support. My banking app however (Natwest) wont open (just crashes) - anyone else had this issue?

I had the same issue with the NatWest app, I deleted and reinstalled it and it seems to be working fine now even with face id

thats good to hear! so you've returned opened and used items inside the returns period?

keep looking regularly, they could be adding stock at any time during the day
Yep. No problem.

Thanks. I'll wait for all of the other apps to finish restoring and then will do as you suggest.

Really hoping someone figures out a way to get FaceID to work better when phone is lying on a flat surface!!!

This sounds ridiculous but how fast did you scroll through the terms and conditions?

When we went to go pick up the missus’ 8 the other week, the apple rep mentioned that blazing through the screens hitting next rapidly was more likely to cause a failure.

I took it with a pinch of salt but the wife spent about 45 minutes reading every word then.
It was on behalf of my parent’s account, and he got rejected. We did scroll through pretty quick but that doesn’t make any sense lol

It’s so weird that he didn’t get accepted

I don't know.. for the last 5 years that I've been doing this, only the launch day stock has shipped from the UK and only trackable via DPD/UKM once it left Syncreon.

I've not had a launch day delivery for a few years and always been in the next tranche. Those phones have all come via UPS and trackable from the point they leave China to my door.

My X arrived this morning. Decided on a clean start and did each app individually. It also needed the update to iOS 11.1 so I went through the setup, saw it needed the update and did a restore and update in iTunes so I know it's completely fresh.
Drained the battery of course by messing with it, now on the wireless charger slowly slowly charging up to full.

I've also been sending my friends animated shites all day.

Really hope the dates on 13-20 come forward as i am going overseas for 2 weeks on 11th...... on another hand the 3-4 weeks one have move forward 4 days from 28NOV-1DEC to 24NOV-1DEC

Nat West re install app, others had to re register. With Nat West had to say no for finger ID, when it installs and you use it it then asks if you want to use Face ID .
All had to re apply Apple Pay cards

Yep. No problem.
great to hear.. I did ask their live chat and got a conflicting response

"You can return any unused and unopened items within 35 days of your purchase. However, if the the item has been used, even if only the box was opened, you cannot return it for a refund as the product is no longer in a re-saleable condition"

With regards to Belkin Anti glare protector, Apple exchanged my pre delivery one for the type they use with their Machines . Appparently the ones with the applicator supplied are different

this is the true value of Face ID

they installed it using their machine? good fit? not catching on the bottom lip when doing the 'swipe to go home' gesture?

they might being using the gap to pad out stock in stores, they have plenty of channels they will need to fulfil and carriers and everyone else who will be begging them for stock to sell.

Anyone who ordered with John Lewis go for the Added Care insurance? It seems a lot cheaper than Apple Care at £140 for 2 years accidental damage cover with no excess fees.

They say they will replace if they can’t repair which would probably be the case for most X’s.

Just got it!

The UPS Driver said he's delivered a lot of these today. He know exactly what it was.
