Received call from John Lewis about 30 mins ago. Couple of verification questions.

Stratford store pickup confirmed for two space greys 256GB slot was 5-5:30 but you have till closing time now that is confirmed. PM for code I only have one so once it is gone it’s gone.

It got hot enough just from doing an iCloud restore that it needed to pause to cool down? Doesn’t sound good if so, never had any other iOS device do that!
To me it don’t feel “hot” just warm - but in iCloud it’s stating it’s to warm - not just mine too my friends is exactly the same message. First time I’ve ever seen it though.
No walk in stock available in there. They were telling customers to try again online tomorrow morning.
I used to have this problem years ago, so now just restore from iTunes I find it much easier. I know that might not actually be helpful thinking about it ha.
Yep, my only hope at one of the south east stores... JL no stock for ages, Argos are thieves, delivery wait during a very busy time for me with regards to work load just wish I could enjoy this thing sooner!
This thing is bloody beautiful (256 Space Grey). The screen is just phenomenal. Got the saddle brown case which looks pretty smart but torn about swapping it for the product red one as I've normally gone for red cases (Forest fan).
Now, there is a tiny little nick in the stainless steel frame where it joins the screen above the FaceID sensing unit. You can only see it at a particular angle. Would you guys take it back and exchange it? I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
Also spent ten minutes in the store talking myself out of getting a wireless charging pad while I wait for the AirPad to come out. I'm sure next time I walk past the apple store I'm going to go in and get one, should have just done it today.

Mine arrived. Got a notification from dpd that it had been delivered but it hadn’t. A quick check with the neighbours found it. Apparently he saw my neighbor and asked could he leave it with him rather than walk to my door!

I see from other threads that the yearly “display is more yellow than the previous model” posts have started. I’m sure the colour calibration is different to the 7 and 8 (different display tech for a start) but if these threads were right every year the displays would be daffodil yellow by now...

What a morning, after getting an order in with JL this morning at 8:25 for tomorrow pick up i can rest easy now.. i had a pre order with apple for 13-20 delivery but cancelled it straight away once i got confirmation email.
So glad I eventually bought it from John Lewis instead of Apple, they offer a much better aftercare warranty service by miles..! I used to be loyal always opting to buy direct from Apple but now i dont think their apple care service is value for money compared to JL.
Even Argos were doing some decent X bundles with beats headphones this morning!
