Also, are the apple Belkin screen protectors any good? can you still see the display properly? Bought one but the screen isn't as HD as its meant to be mainly cos of the screen protector so tempted to just get the apple one. Am i allowed to see how it is on my phone before buying it?

Always had Belkin screen anti glare protectors, Found no problem, but everyone is different, no free trials, I think that is something you can not return to apple after use!

Anyone who ordered with John Lewis go for the Added Care insurance? It seems a lot cheaper than Apple Care at £140 for 2 years accidental damage cover with no excess fees.

They say they will replace if they can’t repair which would probably be the case for most X’s.

Also thinking about it can you purchase after initial order then? As I checked out as fast as poss this morning!!

What a morning, after getting an order in with JL this morning at 8:25 for tomorrow pick up i can rest easy now.. i had a pre order with apple for 13-20 delivery but cancelled it straight away once i got confirmation email.

So glad I eventually bought it from John Lewis instead of Apple, they offer a much better aftercare warranty service by miles..! I used to be loyal always opting to buy direct from Apple but now i dont think their apple care service is value for money compared to JL.

Even Argos were doing some decent X bundles with beats headphones this morning!

I'm ready for a phone call of they need it.

In store pick up for 2 pm too. So no risk of a courier loosing it.

These are just my opinions:

1. Screen...Quality is OK. Note 8 screen for example is miles ahead
2. FaceID...Works well
3. Silver or grey?...Both colours are nice but i feel silver lends a bit more to the industrial design
4. iOS...fast and smooth, as expected
5. Camera...Decent, not as good as my Pixel XL 2

I have one of the invisiglass ones fitted now and it looks and fits well. Not right to the edge but no problems with cases. It doesn’t cause any problems with the gestures either.

It's okay, discoloured and inconsistent at times - poor
