That’s assuming they have to pay no import duty!

I’ve had many items shipped from the US and always had to pay duty + handling which negate any savings

The chap who does it states he has never had to pay duty but for me it's not worth the risk but some others may want to try it.

Decided will be ordering iphone x in black 256GB with EE and will upgrade to the SS series 3 Apple Watch LTE to match..

Just wonder if you just start a new contract with EE for the watch or if you need to buy the Apple Watch then just put a sim in it.

There is no physical sim for the LTE watch

Wonder how the contract will work then as EE have said it's £5 a Month for LTE but how will i go about getting the watch. Guessing if I bought the LTE watch it would just tie in with my phone

Correct. I’d assume it’s in the pairing of the watch with the phone or some initial set up of the watch with the carrier. Both devices will share the same number

Do remember that to take advantage of faster charging you’ll need to shell out £49 for the 29W charger and another £29 for the USB C to lightning cable.

I am a little confused on fast charging and qi charging. when you say you need to buy the 29w charger + cable for fast charging, is that still wired charging or can you add wireless qi mats and have wireless fast charging?

Ah I see, thought they might need a sim in it as that's what I had previously with my last LTE watch with Samsung

I have pretty much decided to get rid of my OnePlus 5 with the money from the S8 plus a little tax rebate to pay off my Vodafone contract in it's entirety come Nov/Dec as this will give me more options for shopping around.

This of course will be void if Vodafone's contract prices are less than a iPhone X + Sim only tariff (IUP or normal finance)

I could of course pay for the X in cash but I would find it incredibly had to part with that much for a phone and would much rather spread the cost monthly instead.

Will be ordering 8+ 64GB. I'd buy the X but I feel like it's best to skip a generation or two. I feel like it'll be another original iPad to iPad 2 scenario. Plus face ID seemed kinda slow and unreliable.

There will be a few more threads asking if they should buy an 8 over an X come Friday ;)

Still not reading a huge demand for the 8 on here tbh. If the X wasn’t palatable because of the cost, I’d only get an 8 if I were to own a 6/6s. The jump from 7 to 8 bring nothing that’s worth the money for me.

But yes people buy an 8 over the X!! (We’ll need as much stock as we can get come Oct 27th)

Still wired charging, via the lightning port. There are no stats for how quickly the phones will charge over wireless, I don't believe.

The couple of clips I’ve seen seem to show it work reasonably well. Worth waiting for some official reviews before making a decision? Only problem with that is Apple might not be dishing out review handsets before the launch for the 8.
