Sainsburys do a 3 year one at the moment which looks pretty good.

Equifax just junked my credit score simply because I forced them to update my address. (Well, actually, if you've lived at your current address for under a year, then it lowers the score and increases the risk). Experian? Well... they haven't even got all of my accounts up to date. I'll fix them before getting the card.

Think I've made a decision and I'm think I'm going to go from my 6+ to an 8. The iPhone X looks amazing but it's too pricey for my liking for a phone. Plus I'd like to enroll on the iPhone upgrade programme (or iPhone payments plan, what's the difference apart from no apple care on the latter?).

Also I find the way they've decided to display content (mainly videos and games) with that notch is odd, the way it just bites into the screen doesn't sit right with me, would've preferred if they kept those areas blacked out with all the status information in. Anyway I'll mostly likely regret my decision the first time I see someone with a X but we'll see!

The X has already cost me £20! I had to rearrange some train tickets to Manchester from a 10am departure to an afternoon just so that I have more time get my X pre order in

Costing me more since I bet my trade in price will fall by around £100 by end of October - though I realise I am not alone in this.

hmm just read about this "iphone payments" and to me it makes iUP look like a bit of a rip off.. the trade in of my phone is currently more than my remaining payments and that would be less if it didn't include apple care..

how did i not hear about this option sooner =(

on the iphone x it makes the monthly payments £10 cheaper

I went for iPhone payments last year as I figured that would be the case. Allowed me to go for 256gb and currently the trade in is about £80 more than settling the finance. If I were trading in nOw that could cover the £69 upfront payment.

Slightly OT but where is decent for trade ins?

I've used Envirofone last 2 years and have had no issues. That said they were getting immaculate phones from me! Use EXTRA5 to get extra 5%.

Anybody sad enough to book the day off work for pre order day on the 27th october?
I just 'work from home' ;)

no option to upgrade after 11 payments?

Hope you get it all sorted in time

Ah yes just been looking, well that sums it up, upgrade programme it is then!
but... as a few have said, the sale price at places like envirofone and the like may cover the remaining balance come next year. and if you're not going for IUP you won't be 'forced' into taking apple care too

Thanks. They've offered £290 (with the code - thanks) for my 6s.

It's also immaculate. I have the box with untouched accessories too. So it's basically as new. There's not a mark on it.

just looking on Very site now - they haven't adjusted their prices yet to reflect the new prices - the 20% off as new customer seems to be 10% off for electrical but doesn't appear to have anything restricting apple products - or is there another 20% off code?

Up to 20% off your
first credit order

enter LGAQP at the online
checkout by the 29/09/17

10% off electrical and 20%
off all the other departments

Over 18's only. Cannot be used on sale,
digital download products, in conjunction
with any other offers or on financial
services products and delivery charges
It's been a while since I've visited that site but last year I got 20% off a phone I bought from them, they must have changed it.

Still something to keep an eye on though

You don't send the box or accessories - just the phone!

The phone payment thing is through PayPal and you pay interest.

The upgrade programme is interest free

Wrong. The iPhone payments in store is also interest free. It is also via Barclays Finance. I did it last year. You are referring to the online option. I accept it is confusing though.....

This is true, I might have to weigh things up a little.

I didn't notice this to be honest, that's another thing to consider.

I do usually pay for my phones outright but monthly payments might take the sting out of it. The downside being paying extra for AppleCare which I never normally bother with.

Were Very not charging way over the normal retail price last year and then 'very' late to deliver??

If you can visit a store then you can do interest free with AppleCare.

...does the IUP come with Apple Care too then? Are we not able to opt out of if (I've never damaged ANY iPhone I have owned - and I have owned them all since the iPhone 3G!!)

That's weird - why do they charge interest online but not in store? THATS why I ended up paying around 14% interest on my financed iPhone 7 last year then  - I never even realised!! :oops:o_O

You can opt OUT of Apple Care :)

I’m going for an 8 (coming from a 6) and the monthly payments on th iUP is £31.50 WITHOUT Apple Care

The X is far too pricey for my liking and I don’t ‘need’ the larger screen

Thanks for the EXTRA5 code. Shame I didn't go for Envirofone the other day before the announcement. They offered £255 for my 64GB iPhone 6 Plus, but it dropped to £243 yesterday after the iPhone X keynote. Gone back up to £255 after the code but I could have got more if I used the code a couple of days ago :( In the meantime, I'm gonna try and see if I can flog my phone on Gumtree for more, with Envirofone as my backup.
