What’s the return policy on these phones?

14 days from delivery once opened?

14 days starting from when you get the item

From Apple...

You have the right to cancel your order, return a product or cancel a service contract for any reason. To return a product purchased from the Apple Store or cancel a service contract, please send your intent to return or cancel to us anytime prior to the date 14 days after the date you, or a person indicated by you, acquired physical possession of the product(s), or from the date of conclusion of the service contract.

Again totally opinion, and the quote is obviously stating that the X is not an average consumers device because of its price therefore a lot of people will get the 8 over the X.

If the supply constraints are anything like what has been suggested people will be looking at January or beyond before they actually get their hands on the X model.

Have any networks published their tariffs on them yet?

Should be similar (ish) to the Note 8

Might buy the 8 for 14 days...

....I wonder if there will be crazy queues outside local Apple Stores, come tomorrow morning?

I know London's Regent Street store will no doubt have ridiculous queues, but I'm wondering if it will be the same at local stores?! I remember queueing for the iPhone 4 at the Kingston store, back in the day - the queues there were ridiculous!!!

....and, if we pre-order tomorrow, why would we even have to queue seeing that our phone will be reserved til we go to collect?!

Finally - anyone think that by pre-ordering tomorrow, will we actually have to collect on release day on the 22nd? i.e I'm pre-ordering tomorrow morning but given the chance that I don;t make it to Bromley on the Friday 22nd, will they hold my phone til the Saturday or Sunday?

I think store queuing is dumb, especially with Angela's increased push to have launch products be online-only.

That said, I will have to go in store to get my next iPhone... via iUP.

....its weird that the website does not have a 'Join' button like the Apple Store App has:

...but I'm guessing that the 'Join the programme starting 15.09' message will probably change to a Join button, come tomorrow morning!

Does anyone think Argos or Curry’s will have the 8’s in on Friday? I have but now pay later schemes with these. But not sure if it will be only dedicated phone shops get them in.

Does anyone have experiences with previous launches?

Can anyone advise me whether to go for the Plus model over the standard model - I'm really torn!!!

The plus model certainly has some better features (the dual camera setup particularly) so I think it depends on how often you will make use of these.

For me the plus model (6+) is a little too big and I still haven't got fully comfortable with using it. That's the main reason I'm downsizing but if I wouldn't find the size an issue I'd probably splash out on the plus for the extra features (though I don't take many photos either!).

I have the 7 Plus, my 1st Plus. Seemed huge when I got it but got used to it within a day or so. Wouldn't go back.

its not something you can advise on, its all personal preference.. go into the apple store and try out the plus size models..

I tried the plus size for the 6 and again for the 6s but returned both within the 14 days. for the 7 I was 100% sure I was going to stick with the 7+ and love it a year later. As said above, it is still not the easiest device to hold and to me still gets uncomfortable after prolonged periods. Also worth noting that the 8+ is heavier than the 7+.

I love the big screen and using a standard size or even the 5c is a shock.. can't ever image downsizing.

the X is the perfect form factor for me. It has the screen size i want and will be a lot more comfortable to handle. roll on November!

I guess the Plus models are not 'one handed' devices then?! ....and how do you manage to fit the Plus models into your trouser pockets?! I actually find my 7, a little too big when sitting down and wearing denim jeans -it just about fits in my pocket!!!!!!

I am so used to the Plus size now I couldn't imagine swapping back to the smaller size.

Used the plus for a year (6s+) but moved down to a 7 when it came out. Loved the screen and found it way too big. The x is what I’ve been waiting for and it’s exciting that it’s almost here!

I use my 6S+ one handed, always have done. The ordinary models look like little kids toys to me.

Not about one handed use but I found it really cumbersome in public. I missed the form factor of the 6-8. The x truly delivers the screen and form factor for me which is why for me it’s a no brainer.

I think I have made up my mind to go for the 8 Plus!

The dual cameras on the back just look awesome, as does the phone itself. Additionally, as I have the 7, jumping from 7 to an 8 Plus will feel like a proper upgrade as opposed to jumping from a 7 to an 8 which look identical in the hand!

As the laughing emojis at the end of your post suggest, you do in fact know that she is Head of Retail at Apple.

The very same person who says that they don't call them stores any more; they are "Town Squares". Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous!

...actually - I did not know that!! I thought he mistyped the word 'Apple'!!!!

Really wish the carriers would announce their pricing for the new models. I need to decide if I should stay on the iUP, move to the iPhone Payments programme, or just go direct with carrier....

I'm still not sure whether to get a 8 or a 8+ or to use iUP or the Payments programme. You don't get much time to make a considered decision.

So I'm still going to and fro. I'm on a 7 plus and on the Apple Upgrade Program. I like the look of the X, but it's not that earth-shattering. I suspect the next version will be. I can afford the X, but can't really justify in my head £200 uplift (bit like I can't justify buying an S3 watch with LTE when I don't want it). I suspect next years OLED flagship will be better, and will probably come in a Plus size. So I'm now thinking of the 8 Plus. Get an upgrade with the new processor etc etc, let everyone beta-test the new X, and upgrade again next year to the more refined X variant.

Are you really going to benefit that much from the 8+ coming from the 7+? The processor improvements aren’t really going to make any real difference day to day. It’s not like the 7 is slow and underperforming.

I’m going from the 7+ to the X, if I wasn’t going to get the X, I’d skip the 8, same some cash and hang on for next year.

To be honest, probably not. BUT..... if I do nothing and keep my 7 plus, I'll be paying Apple £50. month for the next year anyway. Then I have a phone that's worth less to shift on in 12 months. If I do the upgrade to the 8 plus, I pay the same per month for a newer phone, which I can then upgrade via apple upgrade next year, or shift on for a decent price.

Fair enough. If you’re in IUP then why not upgrade.

I’ve not paid much attention to the IUP, are the monthly prices the same for the 7+ and 8+? Do you have to pay the £69 initial payment again?
