So I popped into an Argos store yesterday (8th Nov). Went in to check stock availability. The terminal in the store said in stock for home delivery tomorrow (i.e. today). Went to the counter, nice lady confirmed in-stock for delivery today....so I placed the order.

I got an email receipt saying delivery today. I got a text message from Argos last night at 8pm saying delivery today between 7:30am and 9pm by Yodel. The website however still says 'processing'

I did a live chat this morning on Argos.co.uk, nice chap said he can't see my order has shipped and it could be a wait up until 24th November.

Instore terminal said today.
Check out lady said today.
Paper receipt says today.
Email receipt says today.
Text message from Argos says today
Web chat guy says anytime between 9th Nov & 24th Nov and he can't see that my order has shipped.

...oh and they've charged my credit card the full amount.

This is my first experience buying from Argos. Which should I trust?

So you are able to have a pick up date ahead of time? Because of course for people not on iUP but who want to join, their pick up date has to be the same date they reserve the phone as that’s when the stock magically pops up, right?

But existing iUP customers have a pre-chosen date (even if it is really late!)

In the USA, iUP customers were informed to reserve their iPhone on 20th October (one week earlier than the normal reservation start if I remember correctly), but not for the rest of the world... We just reserved on 27th October and the pickup date was given accordingly.

The pre-chosen date causes the current problem we did not expect when we enrolled the programme. As Apple maniacs, our desire never ends. So our impatience must be understood. :D

Just had a notification that my preorder day iUP reservation (256 SG) is now in store for pick up! Was showing as “arrives by 18 November” - off to pick it up shortly

Whaaaat? Did you get an email or Apple Store App notification?
Which Apple Store are you going to go?

You’re welcome.
That’s crazy you’ve not had yours yet when they’re popping up at stores Regularly each morning.

Yeah Apple are sending me on a rollercoaster. I was so elated yesterday when I saw PFD, and following from others I expected dispatch overnight, but now I've been sitting in PFD (for one of my 2 orders) now for over 24Hrs.

I would trust the Yodel text message to be honest

Ah yes, this was the answer I was looking for. Did you have to sign in at 8am on the 27tg and click ‘reserve’ and get assigned a date? Or was it automatic?

Right, I can see some movement! Charge on PayPal credit just came through and says authorisation!

256GB SG 8:15

Still says processing on Order tho, please check yours.

Changed to PFD!!!! 11:11AM

At last!!!

I'm an 8.16 order confirmation, and my debit card has just been charged :)

Not at PFD yet, but hopefully that will change soon!

Where's that damn "it's happening..." gif when you want it :D

Syncreon are the logistics company Apple uses. It’ll eventually be delivered by UKMail, DPD etc.
