Last year I had to wait until the end of Oct for my 7 in jet black
This is hilarious, they're all still in stock for next Friday.
Has anyone managed to reserve a phone for payment using the 'iPhone Payments' method (same as iUP but no 11 month upgrade & AppleCare) - I can't see a link anywhere to use this payment method?

If you have paid for pick up, I think you can still switch to iUP.Interested in an answer to this.
Do you just reserve a phone for in-store pick-up, then set up the 'iPhone payments' scheme once you get to the store to collect it? I assume you don't get charged when you reserve a phone?

Well despite me saying I wasn't going to order the new iPhone 8 Plus... I did!
Have decided to stick with o2; went for the 256GB version in Space Grey.
The option is definitely (still) there for me...I can't find a link anywhere to 'Reserve' the phone for in store pick up unless you select the iUP. Other payment options seem to be to pay online and then pick up in store (or have delivered). I don't think that you will be able to switch one of these to the iPhone Payments plan once you have chosen to pay online by card.
As is suggested above, it is probably best to reserve a phone with a new iUP agreement and then swap it to an IP when in store as you haven't already agreed to use your card to pay.
It would certainly be easier if they gave these additional payment options in more obvious places within the checkout process but then they would rather you pay up front I guess.

Me, and yes, I do!Is anyone upgrading from the 7 plus to 8 plus? Just curious if anyone thinks it's worth it?

I don't think it is, as I selected the "Other" payment (i.e not Apple Pay) option at the front screen. That is just the option to pick your phone up in store that you have already paid for using your card online. Not the same as reserving the phone for payment once in the store using the other options that are available.

...that's because there is NO link. If you reserve the phone for in-store pick, unless you are buying the phone outright online, then you have to select the IUP. Just change this to IP when you get to the store.
When you choose the IUP online or via the app, you don't set up an agreement there and then. You're literally just selecting IUP for the website/app to then give you a reservation slot. When you get to the store for collection, that's when the agreement is set up.
Additionally, I'd be very careful selecting the online finance option as you'll be charged 14% interest rate as opposed to zero % via the IUP or IP.
