Ultimate Thread: 4890 in Mac Pro

Dual display in 4890

my last post was incorrect. The netkas pkg file makes the 4890 active in Snow Leopard. It doesn't make the card use both DVI ports (that I'm aware of...) Sorry for the misinformation.

Has anyone successfully gotten a 4890 to work with Dual DVI ports in Snow Leopard?
If so which brand/model?

When it comes to Dual Dvi in this soup of graphic card fixing, we don't refer to the specification (all 4890's support dual dvi) we refer to the ability of our methods to allow dual dvi, something we have not yet seen.

aka, we can not use dual dvi in OSX yet. The card physically supports it, and Windows supports it, but in OSX either flashing or using injectors will result in a blue or black screen when two monitors are connected.

Kernel panic

I am trying to install my club3d 4890 in my macpro1,1,
i followed the instructions on page 1 of this thread,
but i wen i boot i get a kernel panic.
What packages do i need?
When i use the ones in this thread(from page 1) i keep having kernel panics at boot.
can someone please help?

This happens after i install the ATI_Init.pkg.
Any one any idear?
 
you will ofc have to follow instructions from page1 of this thread

or flash the card


you can do either on 10.5.4 or 10.5.8, the only difference is 10.5.8 need 1 updated pkg, the one I linked.
 
i tryd flashing the card but then it at boot ,
it isn't going past the startup sound and keeps rebooting.
It is a club3d 4890.

I now only installed the package from your last post and the 10.5.8 update.
I will now follow the rest of the post on page one.
 
Still getting error at boot

Any idears?

you cant flash the club3d card with sapphire rom.


do you even know what you are doing? i suggest some research.
